Chapter 56: New Business

For the next few days the four of them just relaxed and had time out. At the pool Fred was reading the local paper and mentioned about a cargo plane company being run down by kids arguments. He showed the article to Helena and Suzanne.

Suzanne replied “Looks like they need a white knight to fix.”

Helena looked at Suzanne and smiled.

Suzanne yelled “NO Helena, your on your honeymoon. NO.”

Zac and Fred looked at Suzanne.

Suzanne enlightened them “Helena is going to look to buy them out for William and our airport business. Fred it’s your fault for showing the article. Zac ever wondered how a brilliant forward thinking mind works, you are about to witness.”

Helena pick up her mobile phone and called William asking if he could meet them at the pool, She then called Claire asking the same but wear a bikini.

They arrived in 15 minutes, Fred had mentioned to Xena what was happening and arranged coffees and cakes.

Helena took the lead “Ok everyone here can speak freely, William what is happening here?” Showing them the article. William advised “Three families set up the business some 40 years ago and it was the best air cargo business here. Two of the fathers died some 5 years ago and the remaining one retired due to overwork. They left the business to their three sons. They are not happy children always wanting money. The business is run into the ground and anyone with about VAU 1,000,000,000 yes one billion VAU can have the business.”

Fred asked “Whats that in Aussie dollars?”
Claire looked up on her phone “About $12,500.000.”

Helena asked “William are you interested in bringing into profit and what would happen to the current local business?”

William replied “I have installed my son as the Vanuatu General Manger to run the passenger business to see how he would handle it. He is a pilot for us. I could, with overview let him continue and look into this. It does need a new management team. Yes if you want to do it I will give it a go but I will need an injection of cash after buying the wedding plane.”

Helena asked “Claire do I have the petty cash for this?”

Claire advised “Yes but it has to be in some local name(s) not company, to comply with local laws.”

Helena said “Good. We will have Mr Hannah to buy the shares then list them. then with GCVA owning 75% of the shares, 10% to William, 10% Fred and 5% to you Claire. You will be the legal rep on the board. Is that acceptable.”
Claire replied “Sure but we need a stockbroker to handle to purchase and resale. I have a conflict of interest here. My boyfriend Andrew is a stockbroker and could do this for us, if you are happy with the conflict of interest.”

Helena replied “Claire I have met him and happy to let him do it. Get him to start buying the shares quietly now it could save a few dollars for his commission.”

Claire rang her boyfriend and asked him to quietly purchase all shares in the VatAirCo, quietly, she has a buyer willing to spend $1 billion Vatu. He confirmed on the phone for that money he will possibility get all of the share in the failing business. Are they sure they could loose the money. Claire confirmed the order to purchase.

Helena advised William “Keep our money in your business and use it in company loans to the new venture. Sorry by the way Fred, you do not mind owning an air cargo business with William do you?” She laughed. Suzanne laughed, Zac looked on in surprise.

Suzanne commented “Zac how was that wheeling and dealing?”

Zac replied “I would never have believed it, if someone told me this ‘story’ that I have just seen happening. Helena you really are a forward thinker.”

Claire phone rang, it was Andrew. “Claire hope you got the money I have 80% of the share already. Every one of the major institutions have sold at market price, none asked for a premium as they normally do. Settlement is due in 5 days, when can you transfer the funds to our trust account? At this stage I do need only 400million Vatu not a billion.”

Claire held the phone and told the news to the group.

Helena instructed Claire “Transfer 500 million today to keep him happy but you can use up to the billion.”

Claire advised “Andrew I will transfer the funds after lunch to you today. I have been instructed to transfer 500million to you to get the balance of the shares.”

Andrew advised “I’m on it Darling see you tonight.”

Claire put the phone down. “You own 80% now Miss Helena for less than half cost”

Helena smiled, Zac looked in shock.

Fred advised “WOW, Yes Helena I will love to be working with William. What is this money and loan business?”

William advised “Mrs Helena own 50% of our airline and I have been paying dividends into a separate account which we can both sign, It also has the original seed money from Mrs R. What Helena wants is the money to remain with me and if I need funds for the air cargo business I can use that but in an inter company loans.”
Fred advised “Now I understand. I do have training in accountancy.”

Xena came over with another round of drinks.

Claire phone rang again “Claire your client owns the business I have 92% acceptance. The cost will be under 500 million. Congratulations.”

Clair passed on the news. They congratulated with coffee.

Helena advised “Claire go now and transfer over the 500. Bring, without telling him, here for dinner tonight at 6.30, he would be a happy man today with the commission on these purchases. Wait until he finds out the next part. We can get his opinion tonight.

Claire left smiling “Thank you Miss Helena.”

William looked at Helena, “Would you like me to come tonight as well?”

Yes please and bring your lovely wife with you please.” replied Helena.

William smiled and left.

“Well guys shall we have a swim then go inside for lunch?” Asked Helena. Fred and Helena dived into the pool.

Zac looked at them “Suzanne, is Helena always like this? She just spent $12m as if it was petty cash?”

Suzanne advised “Zac, confidently yes, she is worth Billions but never ever repeat it. She treasures our friendship, trust and truth more than anything else.”

Zac looked at Suzanne “You have my word darling I will never reveal her worth, but that wheeling and dealing, within a morning she has purchased a new business. Wow.”
