Chapter 51: Getting the Dress

On Monday Morning Julie picked up Helena, drove to Suzanne and they went to the bridal shop for their final dressing. Again Julie had a few tears for her favourite clients. They looked out of this world in their wedding dresses. They packed their dresses in suitable suits and returned to the Hilton for lunch. They made plans for Thursday. Suzanne would stay overnight with Helena and dress there. Helena would take the dresses home and place in the 2^nd bedroom. As Helena requested Suzanne to come to the board meeting on Wednesday.

Julie mentioned Janet and herself would like to take the girls out on Wednesday night for a hen party at the Twin Towns Services Club to celebrate their last night of freedom. Both agree to attend.

Helena returned home around 4pm. She paid Julie for the day. Just as she placed the dresses in the bedroom Fred came in from Room 3. They decided to go french for dinner. They had a lovely pleasant meal. Helena told Fred about Wednesday night. Funny he said “Ben is taking Zac and I out to Tugun Surf Club for dinner. I forgot to tell you. It’s our bucks night. Don’t worry we will not be drinking just an evening with the guys.” Looking at each other they realised their friends just wanted the best for them. After dinner they went for a walk then retired early for the night.

Tuesday morning Helena mentioned to reception they would be away for up to 4 weeks, could they hold their mail. They agreed. Helena collected the mail todate and placed it in room 2. Helena opened the mail and placed the money into the new suitcase. She was building up to $8m. On the mail some had a post code stamp of Victoria. Maybe when they returned they could go down and find out who is sending the money.

Fred came out of the office and saw Helena just ready to enter unit 1 when the interior decorator stopped them to ask a question. Up to this point they had left the unit in his hands. He asked them if they wanted to have a look they should be finished by Friday.

They entered the unit. It was beautifully, gracefully decorated in a modern design that portrayed bold but simple design. Fred loved the unit. From the original plans 5 weeks ago to now it was a real transformation. Helena mentioned they were getting married this Thursday and will be away for 3 weeks. “I will arrange to pay you the costs. Can you advise what needs to be paid?”

The designer advised. “It’s only my security deposit and I’ll wait until you return from your wedding. All the contractors have been paid, it’s just my final payment. It’s gives me a few more days just to do the final touches.”

They left the happy designer and returned to their unit. Fred advised “That is a beautiful job he has done. I really like it.” Helena smiled wondering what his reaction would be when he found out it was to be his full time office.

They walked around to Zac’s office and mentioned about unit 4. Zac advised he has authorised all payment todate and Suzanne has fixed them up. He has seen the unit and was very happy with his work. They called Suzanne and went out to lunch, this time trying out the Pub.
