Chapter 37: Future Planning

Helena pleased with outcome of the day finished her cups of coffee. Helena decided to go downstairs to the steak house for an early dinner. It was only 5pm. Sitting in the corner looking around at couples and families enjoying their meals, this is the time she misses Fred. Helena finished her meal and started to walk towards Kirra. Plenty of people around tonight. Continuing to walk along Pacific Parade, Helena noticed some units near Mills Street. Helena rang Zac to find out what he is doing. Zac mentioned he was out walking towards Bilinga, Helen mentioned she was walking along Marine Parade near Mills Street, would she like to meet. Zac agreed and met Helena outside the Units.

Looking at the units Zac saw 8 units average price say $300 that’s $2.4m For the block. Helena asked him to look into the ownership in the next few days and find out if they are willing to sell. Helena apologised for the lack of information, she went on to explain that she owns part of a private airline in Vanuatu and they are looking at expanding here. We think, we have a business to take over and Ben is currently negotiating a price. Rather than put them up in hotels all the time, some homely comforts like units here close to the airport could be welcome. If not these units then something similar near the private end of the airport would be handy. I would, with Ben’s help, change ownership into a company name.

Zac and Helena continued to walk to the end of Marine Parade looking for some other building that held at least 6 or more units. Finding a couple more, they turned around walking towards Coolangatta. During the walk Helena did mention that she had a few million to spend on some hostel/ motel units for disadvantaged people and would be using him to negotiate on the purchases. The area ranged from Rockhampton to Coffs Harbour. Hopefully his licence covered this area. Zac mentioned he has both Qld and NSW real estate licences.

Helena and Zac separated at Coolangatta, Zac to home and Helena for another walk along the beach towards Greenmount Beach Club. Zac would find out for her and get back.

Helena then collected her mail and proceeded to room 3 to bring the records up to date. Taking the cash to room 2, Helena realised she needed some suitcases to pack the cash in in lots. Walking along Griffith Street she found a bag shop and purchased 2 suitcases on wheels. Taking them to unit 2 then proceeded to get 6 more suitcases. She packed $1m in each case. Realising she had nearly $7 million in cash she had to think of a way to spend it. She could not just bank it as too many questions would be asked by the government. She was hoping that the next few purchases of the airline and units could be cash.

For the next few days time just seem to go. On Saturday Zac was bring over some 7 interior designers to unit 4 at 10am. Arriving at 10am Zac called on Helena and took her over to meet the designers. Zac had prepared a folder with a copy of the floor plan together with some photographs of each room. As each designers were studying the folders and Zac introduced Helena as the owner, Harry checked out everyone. On two he gave the negative. Helena asked the two to come into the hall way for a moment. Taking their folders Helena explained that, as the owner, she did not want them to submit anything for the unit. Calling for the lift, she escorted them off the floor.

Returning to unit 4, she called all of them over. She explained that she did not like the other two designers and anyone who was involved with them could leave. No one moved, Helena explained that they were not to have any dealing with them over her unit. They are not nice people and she is paying the costs. Two designers applauded, then quickly stopped.
