When visiting the banks there was only one problem with an Australian branch on her last visit. Calling in asking for the Manager Helena was stopped by a snobbish person asking if she had an appointment. Helena replied no but I do have good credit here. The girl mentioned he is not available until next week. Helena then requested to close her account. The name of the accounts are under Mrs Romano. On mentioning that name, the branch Accountant came out of his office practical running taking over the customer. “Can I help you Miss?”
Helena ask “To see the manager now please”
“The Manager is busy however I am 2nd in charge, can I help please?” the branch Accountant replied “Would you like to come into my office please?”
Helena followed around the counter to his office. “I have some documents for you. It involves Mrs Romano. Who, I believe, has some substantial deposits here. I have the original Will and Death Certificate and here is my passport. I need the accounts changed over to my name please. Here is a certified copy of the documents for your records.”
“Sorry but we need to keep the original for a week to effect the change.” he advised.
Taking the originals back, Helena then stated “Well lets close the accounts and I will have a bank cheque now. I’ll wait for you to write it out now. None of the other banks wanted to keep the originals they accepted the certified copies after sighting the originals.”
He went into a fluster, walking out asking Helena to remain for a minute. He entered the manager office telling him what occurred. All of a sudden the manager was available.
The manager invited her into his office. Helena remained saying “I am waiting for a bank cheque for the balance of my inheritance. He has the details but he is not getting the original documents, no one else has asked for them after sighting the originals and there are others that need to see them.”
“It will take us a day or two to finalise the figures and to prepare the cheque.” The manager replied.
“That’s OK I wait here, overnight if needed, to get my monies. I could ask for it in cash you know. How will you get that amount of cash quickly?” Helena replied.
“They left Helena alone in the office whilst they tried to get a balance figure of her accounts. The amount was already over $120 million Australian.
