Chapter 23: Girly Shopping

They awoke and used the bathroom, then showered together. Returning to the bed they gently made love again. AT 6.30 they got dressed and had a cuppa on the balcony. 5 minutes later Zac and Suzanne joined them looking very pleased and glowing with each other.

Fred mentioned he has to be at the station by 8am, Zac said he would now stay here until his handy people arrived at 8am. Suzanne texted Julie asking if they could pick her up from Helena’s unit whenever they are going to Mrs Jones and Helena had a day to herself.

Around 10am Helena, putting some extra cash in her purse, went for a walk along Griffith Street. Suddenly someone grabbed her handbag running down the street towards the Strand. Helena grabbed a mobile phone from a young girl and threw it at the running bag snatcher. The phone hit him at the base of the skull making him fall forward. Helena already running grabbed her handbag and the mobile phone she threw. A security guard came out of the shopping centre asking what happened. Helena explained that he had stolen her handbag. And she is getting it back. She turn around and returned to the girl who owned the phone.

Handing back the phone Helena realised the screen was cracked. Asking the girl “Are you local or on holidays?”

“My sister and I are from Bathurst, on holiday.” She mentioned.

“Well I have broken your phone, let me replace it for you. Do you know who you are with for the account” asked Helena.

“Vodaphone” the girl replied.

“The closest shop for them is in Tweed City.” Seeing a taxi passing Helena hailed the cab.

“Come on let replace that for you” Just then another girl stepped forward. They look very close. “Who is this? Asked Helena.

“This is my sister” she replied.

“Good come with us please, I must replace that phone for you” Advised Helena.

“The girls got into the back of the taxi and Helena the front saying “Tweed City please.” and pulled a $50 out of her purse. The taxi driver seeing the $50 took off immediately towards Tweed City. Upon arrival she gave the driver the $50 and mentioned to keep the change.

Inside the shopping centre, Helena introduced herself. The girls advised her of their name, Penny, who owned the phone and Gillian her actually step sister, they shared the same father. Shaking hands Harry transferred part of himself to the girls and made them relaxed with Helena. OK lets get this phone replaced. Walking to the Vodaphone shop she asked to speak to the manager personally.

Harry, in the mean time was updating Helena on the girls and their father, they were good people but struggling financially.

The female manager came out and spoke to Helena, She explained what occurred in the street and wanted to replace the girls phone, however could she look at their account and see that everything was OK. She did not want any details. The manager got the girl phone number and asked them to look at the phone selection in the shop. Bring up the details, the manger informed Helena the account is slightly overdue. Asking how many phone were on the account She advised three. The girls and his. Penny picked a small phone saying “This will be OK”.

“Nope. How would like the new Samsung Penny?’ asked Helena.

“Yes please” smiling “but the cost is too high.” explained Penny.

Turning around to the manager Helen requested “Three of the latest Samsung phones to be purchased outright please.”

The manager smiled advising OK. Getting 3, top of the range, Samsung out of the cupboard. Helena asked, “Can you get a staff member to show Penny and Gillian how to transfer over their files from the old phone to the new one as they will have to do this for their father new phone please?” The manager agreed.

Whilst the Girls were busy learning the new phone and how to transfer, Helena handed over $5000 to pay for all the phones and put the balance on their account asking “Can you put them on a better plan looking at their history and new phone usage.”
