Chapter 18: Property Settlements

Fred rang Helena on the Sunday saying he would be extreme busy for the next few weeks or so as they had a major breakthrough in the now called PB investigation, which he is heading. He has some major translating to complete.

For the next few days it seem to pass quickly. Suzanne studying and is about to sit university exams. Bill and Julie were busy with bookings. Ben with legal paperwork and Janet finalising some cruise details.

On the Wednesday Ben completed the settlements for both properties. Technically they were now owned by Helena and Suzanne. Suzanne agreed for Mrs Jones to stay in the house until they departed for her cruise Wednesday week. They would go up on the weekend to help her pack and box up any items she would like in the nursing home, like books, pictures, photographs etc.

Ben called around to Helena and gave her the keys for the unit together with an envelope saying, that it must be opened in the unit by her self in private. They went to visit Mrs Romano at the nursing home. Mrs Romano did not look well however she was very pleased that the sale had gone through. She then asked if Helena “Have you read the letter yet?”

“No’, I have it here and was going to go to the unit from here.” replied Helena.

“AH good” giving Helena a fairly thick diary/book. “After you have read the letter and followed the instructions, could you then, open and read this book please!” Mrs Romano requested.

“Not a problem. I will follow your instructions, you have a good reason to do it this way, so like a good girl I will follow.” Helena smiled.

Mrs Romano smiled, looked relieved and then tired. “Well off you go and please enjoy the unit. Ben thank you for all of your help as well. Send the bill to me here and I will fix you up.”

Ben said “There is no account for you as it has already been paid in terms of the settlement.”

“Thank you.” Mrs Romano replied closing her eyes.

Ben and Helen left for the unit. Ben accompanied Helena to the unit and upon seeing the furniture and the view felt both envious and proud for Helena.

“I shall leave you to your reading, good luck and if you need any further assistance, I’m willing to help.” mentioned Ben. Closing the door on the way out. Ben knew the conditions of the will and knew that they would soon be in contact again. He was not aware of how much contact they would have.

Harry just smiled knowing the current full picture. After all his grandfather motto was ‘destroyer of evil and the transformer’. It was going to be a good experience in the later. Its not often that has happened.
