Chapter 15: Bill's Demise

Bill was still standing by the car. Helena thanked Bill for his assistance and getting Ben on to the scene. “You are a good friend, Can you take us back home shortly?”

“No problems, I’m quite today.” replied Bill

Looking at the time seeing it was 11.30am, she walked into the house and saw the ladies chatting, Helena asked “Would you like to continue the chat over some lunch ladies, my shout? Lets go to the Hilton, shall we?”

Suzanne replied “Yes please.” looking at her.

Mrs Jones replied. “That would be nice but I have to get dressed up you know.”
Both Girls replied “NO way look at us, casual dress only.” smiling.

“OK but at least can I put on some makeup please!”

Laughing they replied yes. Mrs Jones went to the bedroom to put on a nice dress, shoes and makeup. On leaving the house she saw the limo and said that would be nice to ride in, but the walk is only ten minutes away.

Bill opened the back door to the limo and said “Where would you like to go Miss Helena?” Smiling and Helena knew he was putting on the graces again teasing her.

In a posh voice Helena said “The Hilton please Bill, and don’t be so snug.” Smiling.

Helena called Ben “Come on Ben, you are joining us.”

Ben looked at Bill, Helena said cheeky “In the front with the driver.”

Suzanne explained that Bill and Ben were brother-in-laws and we know Bill very well and he recommended Ben for the legal services. They are both good men. Mrs Jones relaxed with the comforting words.

Looking at Helena, Mrs Jones mentioned that you must be very well off to have a private driver and limo. They explained the lotto story and Helena winnings, as as they do not drive they pay and use Bill when possible.

Arriving at the Hilton they went to the smorgasbord for lunch and sat at an 8 seat table. Bill and Ben together and the 3 ladies together. Getting the start of lunch a waiter came over to get their drink order, Helena and Suzanne ordered orange juice, and Mrs Jones a bottle of sparking wine, Ben a beer and Bill a coke cola. Bill recognised the waiter mentioning he use to be such a bully at school and this role working here, must be such a let down to him. Unknown to Bill, the waiter did recognised Bill and put some vodka in Bills drink.

Finishing the first course, the girls went to load up with some more food. On returning the waiter was placing the drinks on the table. On serving Bill he slammed the drink on the table, which was picked up by all. He walked away smiling.

The girls picked up their drinks and congratulated each other on their sales/purchases. They drank from their drinks. Bill then dropped to the floor, Ben tasted Bill drink and said the bastard has spiked the drink. Grabbing Bill’s keys he ran to the Limo and got his medical needle. Returning to the table Ben jabbed the needle into Bill’s leg and laid him out on the floor in the recovery position.

He called to the restaurant staff to call for an ambulance immediately as he has 30 minutes to live unless they get him to hospital.

Helena asked “Ben can we help or whats the problem?”

“Bill is allergic to alcohol, that’s why he took up driving, this pen helps for 30-40 minutes but he need hospital care for 3 days, It has happened in the past, so I know what to do.”replied Ben

Helena did notice Suzanne has disappeared.

Mrs Jones was taken back but Helena held her hand saying everything would be alright.

Ben asked Helena to ring Julie please. Picking up Bill’s phone Helena rang Julie mentioning what has happened and that Ben was helping him out.

Julie mentioned they would be there in 20-30 minutes.

A few minutes later the ambulance arrived. One of the para medic’s recognised Bill and immediately got him on the stretcher. They rushed him out to the ambulance. Ben asked Helena to stay with the limo until Julie arrived, He wants to go with Bill, giving Helena the limo keys. He picked up the spiked drink and took it with him.

Helena waved him off saying they will wait. Well this did make the excitement in the restaurant.

Suzanne arrived saying sorry but she did need to go to the toilet looking at Helena.

The manager came over with and asked what was the problem. They mentioned that the waiter had spiked their friends drink and he is now on the way to hospital. The drink has been taken by the ambo’s to allow the correct treatment. Where is that waiter please.

The waiter came over looking all white and sickly. The Manager asked if he did spike the drink to which he replied yes. He put vodka in it.
