Chapter 11: The Winner

Today was going to be a rest day, catch up with house cleaning, shopping for food, reading some books. After all it was the weekend.

Helena finished cleaning, changing the sheets tidying the clothes etc.

Walked around to the launderette and completed all of her washing and what ironing she had. Not much when you wear bikini all the time. Aah there was the dress, from the dinner, with Fred. Most of her washing was towels and sheets. Got to replace the pillow case she thought.

After completing her shopping at the fruit shop and local supermarket. It was good to see the cupboards full of food items.

Placing some meditation music on the CD player Helena sat down on her yoga mat drifting off into the other worlds. Such a relaxing and soothing music. 60 minutes later feeling refreshed and restful Helena rose to make some lunch.

After lunch dressing in a new bikini, wrapped a towel around herself and went to the beach to swim. The water was soothing and relaxing, a gentle wave, The world felt good to her.

Calling into the surf club for dinner, realised she was not dressed correctly, walked home and changed. Returning to the club sat near the window to have dinner. Tonight she ordered a surf and turf dinner. That is prawns and steak. With all of the trimmings.

Returning home changed into her dressing gown sat down and started to read a book.

Around 9pm her phone rang. Not realising what it was a first, quickly answered the phone. “Hello”

“Helena is that you”

“Yes, who is this?”

“It’s June from the lottery office, we met earlier this week”

“Yes, how are you, hang on why are you ringing?”

“Can you sit down please and confirm you are sitting?”

“Yes I am on the floor sitting!”

“OK You have just won tonight’s Gold Lotto Draw.”

“What?”

“You are the sole winner of tonight’s lotto draw and you have won over $40 million Dollars!”

“What?”

“Congratulations. Helena.”

“Thank you, are you sure it me?”
“Yes it was the ticket you got from Currumbin Beach newsagency. Do you still have the ticket?”

Getting up Helena checked her purse and found the ticket. “Yes I have it here.”

“OK treat the ticket as gold and can you be here on Friday week to officially collect the winnings? We can arrange a limo to pick you up. You just need to finalise and sign the paperwork.”
“Can Bill be the limo driver please?”

“Yes he is on our approved limo drivers.”

“OK see you Friday week with this winning ticket.”

Walking into the bedroom she placed the ticket on top of the stash of gold bars telling them to look after it.

‘Harry?’

‘Yes!’

‘is this you?’

‘sort of.’

‘Thank you very much I really appreciate it.’

‘Is that why you have been quite all day?’

‘Yes and I’ve been helping Suzanne.’

‘She good?’

‘Now yes, just a bit of nerves.’

‘Call her tomorrow for brunch, she would like that and you can share your good fortune news.’

‘OK. I’m off to bed now.’

‘Goodnight.’

Helena dreamed of 40 million dollar notes falling all over her nude body, caressing and cuddling her.
