Sue Ann is heartbroken this Christmas because...

a) Her roving reporter boyfriend is overseas
b) She’s in the middle of messy divorce
c) She’s having issues with being a Gold Star widow
d) It’s the first one without her beloved mother

At the advice of...
a) her irresponsible college friend Stacy
b) her wise and seemingly perfect older sister Morgan
c) a letter her dying mother left her in her estate
d) a gypsy fortune teller at the state fair

... Sue Ann has decided to...
a) cut her hair and change her lifestyle
b) move back home with her incorrigible widowed dad
c) move to Toronto (OK, New York) and become a fashion photographer
d) try women for a while (OK, sorry, Hallmark would never)
d) burn her little black book and dedicate helself to the nursing home Christmas show

But this Christmas is about to become a disaster because
a) the pre-teen son of her sister has a huge holiday crush
b) she’s developing a dependency on sleeping pills
c) she’s met two perfect guys who happen to be best friends, but neither know the other is involved with her
d) she’s misplaced an emerald broach that has been in her family for generations

After being sent home from
a) a major photo shoot for a Vogue magazine cover
b) her family Chritmas dinner
c) her new job’s Christmas party
d) the big town decorating event

Because...
1) She couldn’t stop crying
b) She screamed at a group of young carolers inclusding her nephew
3) she passed out, seemingly drunk, but actually overdosed on pills
4) she slapped her boss when he tried to kiss her under the mistletoe
But Sue Ann enjoyed a good night’s sleep after...
1) a long walk through town in the snow
2) a good cry
3) a long session of going through old family photo albums
4) an odd phone call from her flaky college friend
... and was ready to face the world. That quickly changed when she found out...
1) her two suitors beat the hell out of one another, blaming the other for her troubles.

... and was ready to face the world. That quickly changed when she found out...
1) her two suitors beat the hell out of one another, blaming the other for her troubles.
2) her obsessed nephew was asleep in closet, having watched her all night
3) her flaky friend had tried to kill herself after their phone call.
4) her older sister had pawned her broach; the police finding it with video of the sale.

She tearfully ran into the arms of her elderly father, who told her:
1) “I’m sorry miss, but I don’t know you. Were you a friend of my wife?”
2) “Your sister needed the money so I told her to sell it. Not once did I ever see you wear the damn thing.”
3) That Vogue had been trying to contact her all day for permission to use a photo of her workplace breakdown for an article about workplace breakdowns.
4) That God does not us more than we can handles, “So get back out there and decide what’s yours – and take it!

Thus emboldened anew, the first thing Sue Ann does is...
1) go to church and play for strength.
2) file a restraining order against her nephew’s family
3) call both men over to her house and break up with both.
4) empty her bank account and board a bus.

The next time we see Sue Ann...
1) She is laying on the same beach from the end of Shawshank.
2) She is talking particulars about a photo shoot setting in Manhattan, but then hands over the camera and begins posing.
3) she is silently hanging a wreath on her husband’s stone
4) she is stepping off a plane in Los Angeles, portfolio in hand and is met by her flaky friend in the terminal. They share a knowing glance before they embrace with a laugh.
