Chapter 11

In 1960 there were 300 all women colleges in the United States now there are only 26. On the other hand 36% more women are going on to college now, and there are over 10,000 four year colleges and universities in the United States. In fact there are more women than men attending Institutes of Higher Education today. National data suggests that women’s sororities are growing, with membership in the 26 nationally recognized sororities exceeding 300,000 and the size of the average chapter is on the increase too.

These sororities are all members of the National Panhellenic Conference. All together there are over four million college members and alumnae represented by the National Panhellenic Conference at over 620 colleges and universities around the United States. The two largest Sororities by membership are Chi Omega with 300,000 members, and Kappa Alpha Theta with 250,000 members. This does not take into account all the clubs and other female social organizations on the American campus today.

Sororities go all the way back to the “Salem Witch Hunts” believe it or not and have existed for thousands of years in one form or another. Worldwide it is hard to keep up with Sororities and female social organizations or know how many women are involved in them really.

In ranking Kappa Omega Chi, the Sorority we were interested in, was somewhere in the middle of the 26 nationally recognized Sororities in the United States. But being a secret society there was the public face of KOC and the secret concealed side of KOC the public will never see. The public face of KOC did charity drives for abused women and was one of the, as a Chi Omega president described them, “the biggest bunch of goody two shoes on campus”, they were also secretly Witches.

They liked to think of themselves as “good Witches”, but as everybody knows and concedes, “Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely”, so there had been a few “bad Witches” over the years too. All together there were some 100 chapters of KOC in the United States, and almost that many more chapters and aligned female organizations worldwide. Add to that that not all the Sorority itself was even aware that there were Witches within their ranks.

The Witches had found that it was far easier to “hide in plain sight within the many” years ago. Usually they were not even the Sorority’s major officers, they just influenced those officers. Sororities like KOC being secret societies develop all kinds of secret handshakes and other means to identify and communicate with their members and others. Kappa Omega Chi Sorority, or KOC, was not openly gay, feminists, LGBT, or LGBTQ, but always trying to be socially correct. KOC girls all readily admitted to sexual experimentation while in college if asked by someone in public latter. Wasn’t that what college is all about, higher learning and sexual experimentation right, they would tell the questioner and laugh.

The fact was that KOC was noted for turning out some of the finest female debutantes to grace the society front page consistently year after year. Ladies that were really men pleasers and went on to marry powerful politicians, corporate leaders, and other men in powerful positions of influence. Women that discreetly took with them, after they married well, their secret, or sometimes not so secret, depending of the husband’s preference, female friends and lovers.

Good KOC girls became good wives and wonderful mothers never really realizing they were being controlled (that’s too harsh a word), manipulated (that’s still harsh), influenced (better) by their other Sorority sisters. KOC girls were noted for having some of the longest marriages and most satisfied husbands by several leading national magazine surveys. There was nothing a KOC girl wouldn’t do to save her marriage or satisfy her husband. More than one campus news paper had reported on it. If the husband strayed away from the nest with “the other woman” the wife made sure it was another KOC girl that was the “home wrecker”.

Why Witches don’t rule the world today comes down to a few simple facts. At her peak a mature Witch is at least as strong as most males. She is also strongly psychically gifted, but when a woman conceives a child she becomes psychically powerless, loosing her mental Powers for the duration of the pregnancy. Not only does a pregnant Witch loose most of her psychic ability, she also looses most of her physical mobility as well, because of the hormonal changes to her body.

While pregnant she became extremely vulnerable to attack at that time and was dependent on her bonded male mate for protection then. Other males, envious of the Witches Power within the tribe in ancient times, learned this and began to systematically kill the Witches while they were pregnant. At that time they were the wise women and leaders of most of the larger tribes.

For a while there was a split in the Witches ranks. One group became the legendary Amazons, famous women warriors, known far and wide for their skill with the bow and the ugly red puckered scar from the removal of their right breast which interfered with the draw and release of the double recurved horn bows they chose to carry. This group abstained from having sex with any man at all. As a result this groups number remained small and as a result most of this group was eventually wiped out.

The second group learned how to control their own bodies better. They already had their great mental powers, now they used those powers to look inward and control when and by whom they conceived. In times of great need and stress they learned how to abort that growing fetus if their own need was great enough.

They also became great apothecaries knowing many of the things we consider modern drugs today. The drug of the lotus and the poppy, were known to them among others. Aphrodisiacs for men and women were known to them, and the equivalent of Viagra for men was known to them also. They also discovered birth control and the morning after pill and no longer feared an unplanned pregnancy from sex with a man.

While studying all this pharmacology they became aware of their own inner being. That inner being which they could communicate with in the trance state could do things that the fully awake person couldn’t. That inner being which we now call the subconscious mind today. They experimented and discovered that they could help others reach this inner being through trance too. Still others latter learned that they could induce this trance state in others and control them through subtle manipulations of facts and situation. Males may have little psychic power, but they don’t lose it by getting pregnant, and they always have brute force to fall back on this second group of Witches realized. So the Witches learned to choose and control their male mates.

Another problem for the Witches was every female child was not born a Witch. Only about 1 in 10,000 infants were originally even born with a glimmer of the “gift”. KOC is where Elsa intended to recruit her new army of psychics from, I would be eye candy.

Over the ages Witches had learned to hide and control their Powers well. Contrary to popular myth and modern legend alike Witches are not born with the Power full grown. There was no way to discern if a female baby was going to grow up to be a powerful Witch or not in the womb or at birth. Even a child born to a tested proven Witch of great strength only had a better than even chance of becoming a Witch herself when she grew up.
