Chapter 8: Final Approach

Vanessa Benson looked down hard at the structure just in front of her. It was hard to actually imagine how so simple a construction could engender such passion in the human heart. All it was was two white, porcelain toilets with their cisterns sitting back to back and two shower posts standing either side with shower roses just above head height and controls just at hand level. That was it! That was the Matterhorn! Two toilets and two showers sitting on an eight foot square concrete plinth that lifted everything off the ground by about five feet at the most. But it’s simplicity belied its terror!

Blanke Schande College was a college where every female student had to stay completely naked while on campus. The female faculty were also strongly encouraged to follow suit. For them, however, it was not a contractual requirement as it was with the students but 99% of those females were more than happy to comply. The other contractual requirement of all female students at BSC was the total abstinence of all forms of modesty. This basically meant that all personal ablutions and toileting needs had to be performed in any number of open plan showers and toilet facilities dotted around the campus ... with the Matterhorn being the most open set of facilities of them all. This one particular structure stood right at the heart of the college campus. It had a grassy area around it and park benches scattered about for everyone’s viewing pleasure as they talked, read or just relaxed between classes and the general business of the day.
