Nell's Kitchen
Chapter 8
Romance Sex Story: Chapter 8 - Paul spent years running the restaurant his parents left behind. Nell’s is his work, his family and most of his life. But lately, the people closest to him have been making life a lot more complicated. With Halloween approaching, Paul discovers that some things are a lot harder to manage than a kitchen.

Rae unlocked the back door and stepped into Nell’s. She closed her eyes and just took in the sensation of being there. She loved the place. Especially before everyone else started arriving.
Opening Nell’s was a ritual that belonged only to Paul and her. Whoever arrived first would unlock the restaurant and get it ready for business. They usually did the same things to get the place running. Check the lights, the refrigeration, and everything else that needed to be ready before the staff arrived.
Paul would then go to the kitchen to get started on whatever preparations were required for the day. Rae would usually head to the office.
Often, they would do it together. Rae loved those mornings.
Paul would usually make her coffee and some breakfast. They didn’t need to speak much. When they did, it was usually about the restaurant. For the past two months, though, things had changed. Nowadays, they rarely talked about the restaurant when it was just the two of them. They just enjoyed each other’s company. Having Leah around made it even better. She loved it when it was just the three of them.
Paul had changed so much over the past two months. Rae bit her lip. How would he be now that he was with Sophie though? She hadn’t talked to him yesterday after what she and Leah had seen at his apartment on Saturday night.
God! It was so hot!
She moaned a little thinking about what Paul had done to Sophie. She rubbed her breasts absent-mindedly, relishing the slight ache she felt. Leah had bitten her breasts hard.
The two of them had spent many hours in bed yesterday imagining they were with Paul. She smiled when she recalled how she’d made Leah orgasm repeatedly. She was glad that Leah didn’t want a romantic relationship with her.
The sex though, especially when they wound themselves up imagining that Paul was asking them to do things to each other? Amazing! She couldn’t wait till the two of them could actually sleep with him. He was going to be so surprised to see them work together.
God! It would be even hotter if Sophie were there as well.
That made her remember her talk with Leah about Sophie. Would she really be open to sharing Paul with Leah and her. Sophie seemed open to it. Leah thought Sophie was attracted to the two of them as well. But how would Paul react to all of this? Would he even want Leah and her after Sophie? She was almost a perfect match for him. Could he ever see them as more than his family?
She exhaled as she walked toward the office. She and Leah would find out if Paul was going to be different after Saturday night. She desperately wanted to see Paul. At the same time, she didn’t want to see him. She wanted to go back to the way they were before Saturday.
“Forty-three emails! For fuck’s sake.” Rae grumbled as she looked at her inbox. “It’s not even nine!”
For a moment, she wondered why they had decided to do the Halloween party. Her workload had tripled thanks to Leah’s wildly successful marketing campaign. Then she shook her head. If not for Halloween, she and Leah wouldn’t have become as close as they were now. She couldn’t imagine her life without her sister.
She grinned when she remembered the things her ‘sister’ and her had got up to yesterday. She chuckled. Definitely more Penthouse Letters than the Partridge Family.
She had to focus to return her mind to work. She ploughed through the emails with her typical efficiency.
She first worked on the typical restaurant minutiae. Employee shift schedules were managed. Approvals given to vendors. She dealt with errant suppliers and handled reservations, prioritising regular customers.
She sighed when she had to handle the Halloween related emails. One employee wanted to know what costumes were permitted for the event. Someone wanted to know if he could bring his girlfriend. Three food bloggers wanted to be invited to the event. Some YouTuber called Maya requested if she could livestream the event. She decided to forward that to Leah. She would be thrilled about that one.
She finally arrived at the email she’d skipped over a few times. The smoked cardamom. Bert and Paul insisted that they needed it to make the Witches’ Brew, their signature drink for the night.
Leah had already featured it in two reels. One of the promotional photographs of the drink had gone viral. Paul and the team had worked on balancing the taste for a long time. Smoked cardamom was what brought it all together. The damn thing couldn’t be found anywhere.
Sophie had mentioned that she would take care of it, but even she looked uncertain. Usually she was confident about finding any crazy request from Nell’s.
Sophie had sent her an email yesterday. She thought Sophie would have spent all day with Paul. She wondered when she found the time to follow up on this.
Perhaps she couldn’t find a source for the damn cardamom as well. Damn it! This was not good. Paul and Bert were going to be very upset.
Her stomach sank when she opened the email.
Hey, gorgeous!
Don’t worry about the smoked cardamom. I’ve found a supplier who can get you everything you need for Halloween. Delivery window confirmed before lunch on Monday (tomorrow).
Love, Sophie.
Rae stared at the message disbelievingly for a moment. Then she cheered. “Goddammit, Sophie. You are a fucking rockstar!”
Fucking Sophie. How could she be so perfect? She was unbelievably gorgeous and one of the nicest people she’d ever met. On top of that she was the best in the industry when it came to her business. How the hell did she do it?
Rae suddenly felt bad. She and Leah had tried to drive her away from Paul’s life. That woman had done nothing to them. She had even asked them if she could approach Paul. Why the hell didn’t they just say no to her?
Things would have been so much simpler if either of them had just said no.
“So we got the cardamom?” Bert said excitedly. “How? Every supplier I’d spoken to had given up on it.”
Paul walked in to the office just as Rae was about to reply.
“Hey boss. Good news. We got the cardamom.” Bert grinned.
Paul perked up considerably when he heard that news. “You’re kidding?” He looked at Rae disbelievingly.
“Nope. Sophie found it. As usual. She’s got a supplier locked in. The delivery will be made before lunch today.”
Bert cheered. Paul just nodded and turned to walk away.
Rae was puzzled. She thought Paul would jump up and down with happiness or blush like a teenager hearing Sophie’s name. This was unexpected. She called after him.
“Paul? Can you come back in here? Aren’t you happy?”
He turned around and walked back into the office. “That’s amazing news. We needed it.”
She closed the door to the office. “Paul? What happened? Is this something to do with Sophie?”
Her stomach sank when she saw Paul’s face turn sad.
She walked up to him and hugged him. “Talk to me, Paul. Is everything okay with you and Sophie?”
She breathed a huge sigh of relief when Paul hugged her back. Okay. At least he wasn’t upset with her. She leaned into his chest and exhaled.
“No. Sophie and me aren’t okay. She wanted to take a break from me. She walked away, Rae.”
Rae looked up incredulously. “What? Didn’t you guys have a great time on Saturday night?”
Paul shook his head. “The best. It didn’t start off so well, but we had the best night and morning together. But ... things didn’t work out.”
“I’m so sorry, Paul! But you looked so happy together. Was it because of Leah and me?”
Paul didn’t answer. He just held her closer.
Rae looked up. “Answer me, Paul. Was it because of us?”
He still kept quiet.
“Oh my God! We’ll talk to her, Paul. We didn’t mean to...”
He shushed her immediately. “It’s not your fault, Rae.”
“But you didn’t answer when I asked if it was our fault.”
Paul stared at her. Then he sighed. “What happened between Sophie and me had more to do with me. It was something that I learned about myself yesterday. Something she made me realize about my feelings.”
“But why did she walk away?”
“Because she’s a good person. And I didn’t deserve her.”
Rae shook her head. “That’s not true. You are the best person.”
Paul smiled, “Thank you, Rae. It makes me happy to hear that.”
Rae’s breath hitched when he locked eyes with her.
“Rae. There are things I need to tell you and Leah.”
Her heart began pounding. She didn’t know what to think. Was this good or bad? A thousand thoughts ran through her head.
“What things?”
Paul laughed softly, “I’m working on that part. It’s hard, you know.”
“What is?”
His arms tightened around her and he tilted his head down till they were almost touching. Rae felt like her heart would beat out of her chest as they stared at each other.
“Paul?” she whispered.
“Hmm?”
“What are we doing?”
When he smiled, Rae forgot about everything. She remembered that look. For one second she was transported back to that night when she had been in his arms. The night when they had kissed.
Rae shivered when his face got closer to hers.
“You know,” he murmured. “I don’t think I’ve ever told you how beautiful you are.”
She gasped, “You’ve told me I’m beautiful before.”
“Not enough.”
Rae closed her eyes in ecstasy. This was the moment she’d been waiting for. He was going to kiss her. This is what she’d been fantasizing about for years.
Her arms slid slowly around his neck. For a moment she expected Paul to retreat. He didn’t. She could feel his breath against her face.
She couldn’t take this anymore. She was going to kiss him.
Just as Rae was about to kiss Paul, the back entrance slammed open.
“PAUL! RAE! WE NEED YOU!”
Rae gritted her teeth. Fucking Marco.
She made to step away but Paul kept holding her. She looked at him in surprise. He just winked at her, making her blush.
Marco opened the door and ran into the office panting. He was carrying a clipboard in one hand. He stopped for a moment when he saw Rae and Paul hugging.
“Oh! Sorry. Did I interrupt something?”
“Go away Marco!” Rae glared at him.
“I can’t. We’ve got a big problem, guys.”
“What happened?”
“There are two trucks outside that are not supposed to be here till tomorrow. One of them has twenty cases of pumpkins and the other contains the glassware we need for the Witches’ Brew. We have nowhere to put them right now.”
“Just move some things around. How hard can that be,” Rae snapped, angry at the interruption.
“Yeah. But we only ordered fifteen cases of pumpkins. And the glassware is fragile. They want the payment right now.”
Paul and Rae stared at each other. Then they grinned.
“Let’s go sort this out.”
When Leah arrived later that afternoon, Nell’s was an absolute circus. She had never seen the restaurant so busy. No one seemed to have the time to do more than say hello.
She sighed as she took a sip of a virgin Mojito that she’d made for herself. It had been a busy morning for her as well. She had spent the entire morning racing between various social appointments.
She closed her eyes for a second and enjoyed the buzz at the busy restaurant. When she opened them again, she watched bemused as deliveries got sorted, crates of rogue pumpkins were being moved to every available corner of the restaurant and an entire team of people were trying to figure out how to store the glassware for the Witches’ Brew somewhere safe.
Yet, the restaurant seemed to be running service like a smoothly oiled machine. There was not a single spare seat at the restaurant. There was a small crowd waiting outside hoping to get seated. She couldn’t believe how much busier Nell’s had become over the past month. The restaurant had always been popular, but lately it seemed that everyone in the city wanted a table.
She watched the waitstaff wind their way through the tables with practice. She felt a quiet swell of pride. She had helped make this happen.
She could see Paul in the kitchen. When he saw her through the window, he waved at her and gave her a big smile. Her heart melted. She blew a kiss back at him. She laughed when he pretended to catch it and store it away in his heart. God! She loved him.
She was missing Rae already. She couldn’t believe how empty her life felt when she was not with Rae. Once she finished her drink, she cleaned up after herself and went to look for her ‘sister’ with benefits.
She walked into the office to find Rae bent over trying to find something. She paused at the doorway to enjoy the view. She remembered spending a lot of time yesterday with her face in between that tight ass.
She tiptoed behind Rae and goosed her ass.
“WOAH!” Rae yelled standing up in a hurry.
She turned around to glare until she saw a grinning Leah. She immediately forgot to be angry.
“Fuck you slut. That’s sexual harassment.”
Leah stepped in closer and kissed Rae on the lips. “So sue me, you whore.”
Rae blushed. Then she suddenly lit up and ran to the door to close it. She ran back and threw both arms around Leah and kissed her back.
“Well. Hello to you as well, slut.”
“Leah. You won’t believe what happened this morning.”
Leah’s face became excited. “What?”
Rae pulled back just enough to stare into Leah’s face. “He almost kissed me.”
Leah blinked. “Paul?”
Rae nodded her head excitedly. “Then he was hugging me. He didn’t let go even when Marco saw us.”
Leah’s face transformed. She turned red. “You are fucking with me.”
“No. It really happened! Then he called me beautiful.”
“He calls us beautiful all the time.”
“Not like this.”
Leah squealed. “Why didn’t you kiss him then, you idiot?”
“Stupid Marco interrupted us.”
Leah groaned. “Fucking Marco. Why the hell didn’t you try again?”
Rae rolled her eyes. “Have you looked around? It’s chaos in here. Ever since I got in this morning. You must have seen the lunch crowd?”
Leah nodded. Then she held Rae in her arms again and pulled her closer. “Tell me everything. How did it happen?”
Rae’s face became a little sad.
“What happened?”
“Sophie walked away from Paul. She’s out.”
Leah stepped away. “What?”
Rae nodded. “Yeah. Paul told me this morning. He’s broken up about it.”
Leah groaned. “Was it because of what we did? Fuck!”
Rae shook her head. “No. Funnily enough it wasn’t because of that. But he did imply that it was because of us though.”
Leah blanched. “Really? Did he find out about what we did? Does he know that we entered his house and spied on him?”
Rae’s face became white. “Fuck! I didn’t even think about that. He didn’t say anything about that.”
“Then what happened?”
“He said it was because Sophie made him realize something. About both of us.”
“What?”
“He said he’d tell us both.”
“Let’s go ask him,” Leah made to run out of the office.
Rae pulled at her. “Are you crazy? Can’t you see how busy we are right now? Paul doesn’t need to deal with us right now.”
Leah nodded. “You’re right. I was being stupid. Fuck! I want to know so badly!”
Rae laughed. “Babe. Imagine my plight. Luckily I’ve been too busy dealing with work ever since I got in.”
“Nell’s has gone crazy, huh?”
“Seriously! You know, when I opened my emails this morning, my first thought was that I wish we never did this Halloween thing.”
Leah’s face clouded. Rae immediately reached out and pulled her in. “Silly girl. I was just pissed off with the work. I would never change a thing. Without the Halloween event, we’d never be what we are today.”
Leah smiled. “I know. You know, when I was in the dining room drinking my virgin Mojito I was thinking the same. I feel uneasy when I’m not with Paul or you.”
“Where’s my drink, you bitch?”
Leah stuck her tongue out. “Next time, ask me more politely.”
The two of them laughed for a bit. Leah made Rae recount the almost kiss and sighed throughout.
“So Sophie’s out huh? I guess this means we don’t need to talk to her after Halloween.” Leah said.
Rae made a face. “You know, I feel like such a bitch. She was nothing but nice to us. She even solved a huge problem for Nell’s even after breaking up with Paul.”
Leah and Rae were silent for a bit.
“Bitch.” said Leah.
“Absolute bitch.”
Leah sighed. “Yeah. We were pretty horrible to her. But, to be honest I have to tell you. I’m kind of glad that she’s not in Paul’s life anymore. I wish we hadn’t let things get so bad. If we’d only told her no when she asked us if she could ask Paul out.”
“Babe! Jinx! That’s exactly what I was thinking about this morning when I heard about Sophie as well.”
“Great minds think alike.”
“Seriously! But you know, I regret not having to talk to Sophie as well.”
“Oh?” Leah said, eyebrows raised.
Rae blushed, “I was thinking about how hot it was to watch her getting fucked the other night. Then I thought about what we did yesterday and how amazing it would be to do that with Sophie as well.”
“Oh!” Leah said, going red.
“Yeah. Can you imagine it? All three of us, kneeling before Paul. We’d suck his cock together. He could fuck one of us while the other two played with each other, or took turns kissing Paul.”
