Dana sighed happily. Everything she needed was in place. Three cans of Red Bull. Check. Lights off in the living room. Check. Curtains drawn. Check. Phone fully charged. Check.
She picked up her phone and sent a message to her girls.
Dana: The command center is a go. Status updates please.
Leah: Agent Silky Hair is in place
Rae: Agent No Show in position
Dana: What kind of name is No Show?
Rae: It’s the scariest thing I can think of
Leah: We’ll need to work on our code names, babe
Dana leaned back, satisfied. For an ad-hoc operation, things seemed to be proceeding well. The girls were in position outside the Gilded Spoon waiting for Paul and Sophie to show up. She cracked open a can of Red Bull and took a deep gulp.
“Babe, why are all the lights off and the curtains drawn? Do you want me to switch the lights on?” Chris asked innocently.
Dana glared at Chris. “No! I don’t want the lights on. Can’t you see that I’m doing something important?”
Chris looked at her with a perplexed expression. “The lights are off. How can I see what you’re doing?”
Dana didn’t have an answer for that.
“Leave them off. The girls and I are in the middle of something important.”
Chris shook his head. He was wondering if their marriage vows required him to tell her what he really thought about the way she was behaving. He decided discretion was the better part of valor and tiptoed out of the living room. Unfortunately, his shoe squeaked when he was walking.
“Shh!” Dana hissed.
“What?”
“Stop making so much noise. I need complete silence.”
Chris decided that there was no point arguing with Dana in this mood. He slowly backed away to the door.
“You know what? I’m going to get a drink at the bar. Maybe I’ll check if Paul will join me.”
Dana ignored him.
“Do you think it was a bad idea for me to wear this party dress on this stakeout?” Leah asked Rae doubtfully.
“Yeah. Maybe we shouldn’t have dressed up so well if we wanted to be incognito,” Rae agreed. “We seem to be attracting way too much attention. Plus it’s freezing out here. I wish we’d worn something warmer.”
“Well. You look fab, babe.”
“Thanks, babe. So do you.”
A sharply dressed host appeared next to them. “Good evening ladies. Will you be joining us tonight? You can wait at the bar if you’d like until a table opens.”
Rae replied, “We’re not ready yet. We’re just scanning the menu.”
The host bowed. “Of course. Please take all the time you need. Give me a call when you’d like a table.”
Leah giggled, “That was quick thinking! I froze there for a second.”
Rae smirked with a nod. “Let’s check back in with Dana. She must be wondering what we’re up to.”
Leah: Agents waiting outside near the door. We’re pretending to read the menu
Dana: That’s smart. Are you sure you’re not too visible?
Rae: We were. But we’re in a dark corner now. We can see inside the restaurant. No one can see us
Dana: Smart. So what are you planning to do when the package arrives?
Leah: Package. 🤣
Rae: 😂
Dana: You know what I mean you freaks
Leah: 🍆🍆
Dana: Stop it!
Rae: Ok fine. Operation Now you see me now you don’t is operational
Leah: What’s that?
Dana: Isn’t she right next to you? Why can’t you just ask her directly?
Leah: Hey! 😡Aren’t you the one that wanted to be in all our conversations?
Dana: Oh yeah. I did. Carry on
Rae: So anyway, I left a bunch of things unfinished at Nell’s and took the day off just like you told me to Dana
Leah: How does that help? What if Paul rushes back to Nell’s? They’ll just reschedule the date
Rae: No no ... it’s nothing serious. Just simple things that can be answered on the phone.
Dana: 👍Let the games begin
The host approached them again. He cleared his throat. “Ladies, I have a table for two open if you’re ready. Have you made up your mind yet? It must be chilly standing here.”
Rae and Leah had the grace to blush. “No, we still need more time.”
The host’s smile disappeared quickly. “Sure. Sure.”
Rae and Leah were no longer having fun. It was very chilly outside. What was happening inside made them feel considerably worse.
“God! Sophie looks breathtaking tonight. Look at the way she fills out that black dress,” Leah complained.
“Seriously! Everyone in the room is staring at her. But she only has eyes for Paul.” Rae said.
“I don’t blame her. Look at him. He looks scrumptious. He’s wearing that blazer I got for him last year. I’ve been trying forever to get him to wear it.” Leah groaned.
“Look at Sophie, babe. She’s like a literal Bond girl. Check out her rack! Dana would have had a heart attack.”
Leah giggled, “She would have drooled like an idiot. Anyways, You don’t have anything to complain about. You look just as good. In fact I think I like your rack better. Your tits are rounder than hers.”
“Aw! Thanks babe. Your tits are awesome too.”
“Yeah.” Leah sighed. “I’m only a D cup, though.”
“Trust me! That’s plenty. 34?”
“No. 36.”
“Nice!”
Their phones buzzed.
Dana: What’s happening? You haven’t reported for ten minutes.
Leah: Package has arrived with Bombshell. They’ve ordered starters and a bottle of wine.
Rae: Bombshell looks amazing. Check her out.
Rae sent Dana a picture of Sophie and Paul sitting at their table.
Dana: Oh my 💦💦
Leah: Stop it you freak. Stop perving on Sophie
Leah: I mean Bombshell
Rae: Yeah. You’re supposed to be on our side.
Dana: I can’t help it. I mean have you seen Bombshell? God. Those tits. I could motorboat them all night!
Leah: 😡 Can you please keep it in your pants for once. Rae delete that pic
Dana: Don’t you dare. At least let me save it first
Rae: Fine I won’t. You owe me one bitch
Dana: Okay. So what’s happening?
The host appeared in front of them again. “Ladies. Surely you must have made up your mind by now?”
Rae snapped at him, “Well ... we’re women. Are you trying to take away our choice to take our time?”
He backed away, “No no. Can I at least offer you some wine? It’s our in-house special.”
Leah nudged Rae, “Let’s ask Dana.”
“You want to check if you can have a glass of wine with someone else?”
Both women nodded.
Rae: The host is asking us if we want a glass of wine while we wait outside.
Dana: What kind of wine is it?
Leah: Their in-house special
Dana: Yeah but what type?
Rae looked up, “What kind of wine is it?”
“It’s a lovely dry Zinfandel we get from our own vineyard in Napa.”
Leah: It’s a dry Zinfandel from Napa.
Dana: Ooh. Sounds delicious. Get it
Rae looked up again. “Sure. We’ll get a glass each.”
The host backed away slowly. The women went back to staring inside the restaurant.
Dana: Status report. I’m on my second can of Red Bull here.
Leah: Babe. You shouldn’t have so much. You know it’s not good for you.
Rae: Yeah. Too much caffeine
Dana: I need it to stay awake. You idiots haven’t messaged in a while
Rae: Well we’ve been busy. We had to walk away from the restaurant because the host looked like he was going to call the cops.
Leah: Yeah! Luckily I flirted with him and he’s given us two seats at the bar. Paul and Sophie can’t see us, but we can see them
Dana: Proud of you babe
Rae: RED ALERT! RED ALERT!
Dana: What happened? 😨
Leah: I want to shatter my glass with my bare hands
Dana: What happened????
Rae: Sophie just licked butter off Paul’s lips. And he liked it
Dana: WHAT????
Leah: Yeah. That was so hot and disturbing at the same time
Rae: I feel like screaming and yet I wish I were Paul
Leah: Me too
Dana: You mean Sophie?
Rae: I meant what I meant
Dana: You girls have problems. Rae, are you sure you left things unfinished according to normal people’s standards?
Rae: Yeah, I don’t understand. Oh wait. Paul’s phone is buzzing.
Leah: Hallelujah! Operation NYSMNYD is a go
Dana: Love the acronym! ♥️
Paul sighed. It was all going so well at the beginning. He desperately wanted to switch the damn phone off. He looked at Sophie. She looked angelic. Scratch that. She looked divine. He gave her an apologetic smile once more.
He didn’t understand why his staff appeared to have collectively lost their ability to run the restaurant. First the kitchen called about a substitution. Then someone called because of an issue with a customer. Surely they could handle this on their own!
At first, Paul and Sophie merely exchanged amused, sympathetic smiles over the interruptions. But the calls kept coming. And somehow, they kept getting stupider.
He muttered irritably into the phone, demanding to know why no one else could handle a simple inventory question.
“I’m so sorry, Sophie. I don’t know why they’re calling me so many times.”
Sophie leaned forward and touched his arm. “Don’t worry, Paul. I know running a restaurant is not easy. Especially a place like Nell’s. You have been so busy over the last few weeks.”
“Yeah. Leah and Rae’s marketing efforts for Halloween have really made us busy. We’ve had to add some tables to deal with the increased bookings.”
“You must be so proud of them. They’re so young and so dynamic! I wish I had some of their energy.”
“You hardly look a day older than them.”
Sophie tittered and touched his arm. “You’re so sweet. I’m really so happy to be compared with those two sweethearts.”
“They are amazing. Look at the way my restaurant is falling apart without Rae being there for one night. I need to have a talk with my staff about responsibilities when I get back.”
Sophie smiled at him dreamily. She loved how passionate he was about everything. He was handsome, passionate, and a food nerd. What more could a woman want?
Then her smile turned into a frown when the phone buzzed again.
Paul groaned. It was Chris calling him this time. “Why’s he calling me? He knows I’m on a date with you. Bet his ass forgot. Excuse me for a moment, Sophie.”
He walked towards the bar. Both girls turned quickly on their stools to face the bartender. Luckily Paul didn’t notice them.
“What the hell, bro? Why are you calling me now?”
Both girls giggled. Their plan was working better than they expected.
Dana: What’s happening?
Leah: Paul is standing near us. Even Chris called him.
Dana: Hell yeah! I love my baby. He’s helping us even without knowing about all this.
Rae: Paul sounds mad. He’s unloading his frustrations about tonight on Chris.
Dana: 🎉Looks like NYSMNYD is working amazingly well
Leah: I kinda feel bad now. Paul is really upset
Rae: Yeah. It feels wrong
Dana: Oh come on! Make up your minds. Do you want to get rid of Sophie or not?
Leah: We kinda do and we don’t
Dana: 🤦Why don’t you just ask her to join you girls in seducing the man then? You seem to be in lust with her
Rae: Hey! We’re not into girls like that. We love Paul
Dana: Sure. Keep telling yourselves that. I think this chat proves otherwise
Leah: Yeah Dana. Stop trying to make us like you.
Dana: I think you’re just Born This Way 😀
Rae: 🤦
Leah: Bad joke bitch. Lady Gaga gonna sue you for that.
Dana: You two have no sense of humor. Anyways, are you hypocrites going to commit to breaking up Sophie and Paul or not? Tell me quickly. I don’t want to open another can of Red Bull if you’re not interested.
Rae: Yeah. Paul’s ours.
Leah: Yeah
Dana: Psychos! 🫨
Rae: Paul’s headed back to the table. Oh wait, he got another phone call
Leah: He looks livid. He reprimanded the person on the other side quite severely. He’s apologizing to Sophie.
Dana: How’s she taking it?
Rae: She looks sad, but she’s understanding
Leah: Bitch
Rae: Bitch. Does she have to be so perfect all the time?
Leah: Oh wait. It looks like they’re getting up to leave.
Dana: Success, bitches! 🥳
Rae: Hell yeah!
Leah: Paul hurried out after paying the bill. Sophie almost had to jog to keep up with him
Dana: That’s awesome. So what’s the plan now?
Rae: Now we go to Paul’s house with a bottle of his favorite whiskey and let him drown his sorrows with us
Leah: Yeah. And let him take advantage of us if he wants🤞
Dana: Well good luck babes. I shall wish you good night and the best of luck
Rae: We love you Dana. Thanks for all your help
Leah: Yeah. We owe you big time
Dana: Don’t worry. I won’t let you forget it 😉
Rae and Leah barely noticed the cold when they entered Paul’s apartment building. They were too busy congratulating each other on their brilliant operation.
“We did it, babe!” Leah giggled as they walked into the lobby. “We actually did it!”
“I know! I can’t believe how well that worked. Dana’s the best. We could have never done this without her.”
“I’m a little scared about owing her one though.”
Rae smirked. “Don’t worry I’ll send her another picture of Sophie and she’ll forget about that.”
“Oh, you’re so bad, babe. She’s a real perv isn’t she?” Leah giggled.
“That she is.”
Leah paused for a moment. “So what’s the plan?”
“Well. First we get Paul to let us in. I’m sure he’s going to be angry for a while. Let’s give Paul some time to complain about Nell’s. We’ll get him drunk and then cheer him up.”
Leah held up the bag of pastries they’d picked up on the way. “Sounds good. I feel bad about doing this to Sophie. But Paul belongs to us.”
“You think Dana was being serious about asking us to get her to join us in seducing him? Would you be okay with that?”
Leah bit her lip and thought about it. “I mean ... that sounds hot. But Sophie’s so amazing. She’s like both of us combined into one person. We’d lose Paul to her. She may not want to share him with us. Plus, us sharing him is different, right?”
Rae nodded. “Yeah. But tonight was just the one time. She’s crazy about Paul too. How long can we keep sabotaging them?”
Leah’s face hardened, “As long as it takes. These last few weeks have been amazing, right? You heard Paul the other day. He doesn’t miss the sex with others any more. He loves being around us. He’s changing, Rae. We can’t give up now. Even Dana agrees.”
Rae asked with a hint of fear in her voice. “Tonight worked. But what if it doesn’t work the next time? What if he sleeps with her? And he likes it?”
Leah shook her head. “He’s slept with other women before. Apparently too many, according to Dana. Does that make you want him less?”
Rae’s shoulders sagged. “No. He’s ours. No matter what.”
“No matter what. Now come on girl. Let’s celebrate our success tonight. Paul’s going to be sad. Do you think if we get him drunk enough, he’ll be up for ... you know?” Leah blushed red.
Rae looked dreamy for a second. “Gosh babe. The way you look right now in that dress, I’d do you. Maybe. Let’s go get our man.”
They were still giggling when they reached his door.
“Rae, sweetie, move the straps of your dress a little wider. Your boobs look delicious like that.”
“It’s not too much?”
“Girl, to quote Dana, I could spend all night motorboating them.”
The girls held each other laughing.
“She’s a bad influence on us, isn’t she?”
“The worst. Hey! What’s that sound?”
A loud moan came through the door.
