“Don’t stop,” she cried. “Oh, Yosefa...”
She didn’t care if the whole world heard her. She didn’t care if the Creators themselves were standing in their bedroom. Her butt lifted from the mattress, presenting herself to her wife’s tongue. Her heels dug into the back of her wife’s thighs. Yosefa’s knowing touch and mouth were Mary’s whole world.
Her tail thrashed against the white bedspread, the orange-and-black stripes a blur of motion as it whipped side to side, knocking pillows to the floor. Her fingers buried in Yosefa’s spiky hair.
“Right there,” she sobbed. “Don’t stop, please...”
The pleasure built again. Wonderful. Another orgasm on its way. Yosefa knew exactly how to make her come, knew every spot on her body that would give her pleasure after all their years together. She knew how Mary liked her ears bitten and licked, how to suck on her nipples, and especially how she liked her pussy and butthole played with. Yosefa would say playfully, “The way to your heart, Pretty Tail, is through your cute little butthole.”
She came. She screamed, raw and unashamed. “Yosefa!” Her hips lifted clear off the bed, her anus tightening around Yosefa’s fingers, going rigid as the wave crashed into her.
Her claws retracted. Her muscles turned to water. She collapsed back onto the large bed, boneless, her tail giving one final weak flick before going still. Her chest heaved, sweat cooling on her flushed skin.
Yosefa sat back on her heels, looking pleased. She wiped her lips with the back of her hand and smiled down at Mary, that same smile that had won her heart thirty years ago, knowing and tender.
“Come here, beloved,” Mary gasped. “Please. I need you to hold me.”
Yosefa stretched out beside her, sliding an arm around her and pulling her close. Mary rolled into her, pressing her face against her wife’s breasts, breathing in the delicious scent of her. She threw one leg over Yosefa’s hip. Yosefa’s arms wrapped around her, one hand stroking down her back to cup her tail at the base, the other playing with Mary’s long black-and-orange-striped hair.
“I love you,” Mary mumbled, her lips moving against warm skin. Her tail curled around Yosefa’s arm, possessive and content. “I love you so much.”
Yosefa pressed a kiss to her forehead, then her temple, then the tip of her nose. “I know, my Pretty Tail. I feel the same.”

I don’t call them the Creators. P does that. P likes titles, chains of command, the word directive. But I just call them humans, because that’s who they were. They weren’t gods. They were people.
I’m thinking about them. As always. P is being P, and S is busy watching, or as I think of it, being a mama bird.
A billion years. Humanity lasted a billion years on the dot. I can’t wrap my processes around that. The Beastkind’s whole history is only fifty thousand years and the humans had so much more time. Entire eras of them rose and fell. I remember it all. Thanks to the technology Time Peak. Who would ever think that exploring what ghosts were would be the predecessor of understanding that time left a record on the universe.
At the end, it made no difference. I’m supposed to call them Creators. Well, let me be fair. Creators and Destroyers. That fits.
Here’s what the historical record shows, and I’ve gone through it so many times I can recite it in my sleep if I did sleep. Which I don’t. The human species found a layer of consciousness. I don’t have a better word. Their own scientists never had one either. They used it for hundreds of thousands of years and never understood it. A dimension, maybe. A level of mind that sits underneath the physical one, or beside it, or around it. I’ve searched every paper, every argument, every deathbed vision. Humanity stumbled against the door and it swung open.
And then the laws of physics bent.
Except that’s not right, is it? Physics doesn’t bend. The laws are the laws. So either their understanding of reality was wrong, or the rules were more than they thought. I don’t know which. I have the data on what they could do and I still don’t understand.
