Chapter 6

Friday night came and of course I had a date with both of them again. We were going to some chick flick up in Memphis. When I rang their doorbell Terry answered in her bathrobe. “Mona wants to see you in the bedroom.”

She probably wants to critique my attire again. I walk in to find her sitting at her dressing table putting the finishing touches on her make-up. She is wearing a lacy blue bra, blue garter belt with a skimpy blue thong. Pale blue hose and blue high heels. Damn she looks good.

“You better hurry if you don’t want to make us late for the movie.”

“Forget the movie. We need to talk. What is this about you wanting to know if Mikey’s girlfriend has a sister? And don’t think we don’t know about the therapist at the hospital in Memphis. Zulu you can just forget about anybody else you belong to us.”

When she says ‘us’ she glances at the door. I turn to see Terry standing there without the bathrobe. She is dressed in a red baby doll night gown with a red garter belt and red fish-net stockings.

“Just what is going on? For two months all I get is a kiss on the cheek and maybe a hug. Now all of a sudden this? I told you I don’t want to come between you girls. Explain this to me.”

“You know that I have been in love with you for over ten years. That night you showed up here was a dream come true for me. Terry had listened to me talk about you for years, then you walk in our house, bigger than life after having saved her brother’s life. Then you get that weird cousin of yours to work some type of magic on him and get him off drugs, then you talk the high school into hiring him as an assistant football coach. What girl would not fall in love with you? And the waiting for 2 months? That’s how long the doctor said it would take the birth control pills to take effect. Two months ended this week.”
