Chapter 17: The Week

Thriller Sex Story: Chapter 17: The Week - Jonah Rook moves to Cedar Brook seeking quiet after twenty years in the Army. The Bellamy family next door welcomes him with unusual warmth—dinners, lingering conversations, reasons to stay close. He tells himself it's kindness. But kindness doesn't usually make you wonder if you're still free to leave.

Jonah had been gone for one day when the first dream came.

He’d fled Cedar Brook the night of the gathering, driving through darkness until exhaustion forced him to stop. He woke at six in the morning in a motel outside Casper, Wyoming. He hadn’t meant to sleep. The exhaustion pulled him under despite his best efforts.

He sat up fast, his hand going to the pistol on the nightstand. The room was empty. The door was still locked. The chair was still wedged under the handle.

But the mark on his chest burned.

He pulled his shirt up and examined it in the dim morning light. The three-line triangle was darker now, almost black, and fine lines branched out from the edges like cracks in glass. They spread across his pectoral muscle in a pattern that looked deliberate. Intentional.

Jonah touched the center of the mark. The skin was warm but not painful. The heat radiated from somewhere beneath the surface, deeper than muscle or bone. When he pressed down, he felt a faint vibration, like a tuning fork humming against his ribs.

He stood and packed his duffel. He left the room before checkout, slipping the key through the mail slot at the office. The old woman didn’t appear. Jonah climbed into his truck and drove.

He headed north, avoiding the interstate. He took back roads through small towns with names he didn’t recognize. At a gas station, he bought coffee, a breakfast sandwich, and a prepaid phone card with cash. The clerk didn’t look at him twice.

In the restroom, Jonah locked himself in a stall and pulled out the burner phone. He activated it with the prepaid card, then opened the notebook from his duffel bag. He wrote down the date, the location, and a brief description of the mark’s appearance. He photographed the mark with the burner’s camera and saved the image. Evidence. Documentation. Something to show someone if he needed to prove what was happening.

If you ever get out.

He powered down the burner, removed the battery, and tucked both pieces in separate pockets. Then he left the restroom and got back on the road.

He wrote in the notebook: Day 1. Casper, WY. Escaped gathering without completing public vow. Mark present, spreading. No pursuit visible. Testing distance limits.

The dream came the second night.

Jonah checked into a motel outside Billings, Montana. A single-story building with peeling paint and a gravel parking lot. He paid cash for one night and gave a fake name. The clerk didn’t ask for ID. The room smelled like cigarettes and mildew. The bed sagged in the middle. The lock on the door looked flimsy, so Jonah wedged a chair under the handle and set his pistol on the nightstand.

He lay down fully clothed and closed his eyes.

The dream started immediately.

He was back in the Bellamy basement. The air was thick and hot. Candles flickered along the walls. The chanting was louder now, closer, like it was coming from inside his skull. He couldn’t see the faces of the people around him, but he felt their hands on his body. Mara’s voice whispered in his ear.

You can’t leave.

Her hands slid down his chest. Her nails scraped lightly over the mark. The sensation was so vivid that Jonah gasped and tried to pull away, but his body wouldn’t move. He was pinned to the floor by invisible weight.

Tessa’s mouth found his neck, her tongue tracing the line of his jaw. Iris straddled his waist, her thighs warm and soft against his hips. He felt her wetness through his jeans. She ground down slowly, deliberately, and the friction made him hard despite the terror clawing at his chest.

You belong to us, Mara whispered. You always did.

Jonah woke gasping, heart hammering. His cock strained rock-hard against his jeans. The mark on his chest burned white-hot for three seconds before fading back to its steady glow.

He sat up and pressed his palms against his eyes. The room was dark and silent. He was alone. But the sensation of Mara’s hands, Tessa’s mouth, Iris’s body—it all lingered. He could still feel them on his skin.

Jonah stumbled to the bathroom and turned on the cold water, splashing it over his face and chest. The mark’s heat faded slightly. He stared at himself in the mirror. His pupils were blown wide, his breath coming in short, ragged gasps.

He was hundreds of miles from Cedar Brook. But the dream felt real. More than real. Like they were actually there with him.

He opened the notebook and wrote: Day 2. Billings, MT. Dream—vivid, tactile. Mark responded. Arousal involuntary. Cold water provided 3-5 min relief.

Jonah went back to the bed and sat on the edge. He didn’t sleep for the rest of the night.

The third day, he drove west into Montana, avoiding the interstate for back roads that wound through small towns. At a gas station, he bought a road atlas, bottled water, and protein bars. He paid cash. He didn’t speak to anyone.

At a public library in a town called Red Lodge, Jonah used one of the computers to search for information on the Bellamy family. He started with Cedar Brook’s local history archives, then expanded to regional genealogy databases and obscure folklore collections.

Three hours later, he found fragments.

A reference to the Bellamy name in an 18th-century European occult text, digitized and uploaded to an academic database. The text described a sect that worshipped an ancient harvest deity through blood rites and sexual communion. The sect marked chosen men with a symbol—three lines forming a triangle—and used the mark to bind them as physical anchors for the entity’s influence.

The marked men were called vessels. They were kept alive as long as they served the covenant. If they tried to leave, the mark would pull them back. If they resisted too long, they died.

Jonah’s stomach turned. He scrolled through the document, scanning for more details. According to the text, the sect migrated to North America in the late 1700s and established communities in rural areas where they could practice in secret. The Bellamy name appeared in a footnote listing founding families, though the reference cut off mid-sentence.

He searched for Elias Bellamy next. The results were sparse—a marriage certificate, birth announcements for Tessa and Iris, then nothing. No death certificate. No obituary. No forwarding address.

But Jonah found something else: a scanned image of a handwritten ledger from Cedar Brook’s historical society, dated fifteen years ago. The ledger listed community members who attended a private gathering at the Bellamy house. Elias’s name was there. So was Mara’s. So were half the people he saw in the basement.

At the bottom of the page, someone had written a single line in faded ink: E. Bellamy—marked, fled, returned.

Jonah stared at the screen, his hands trembling. Elias had the mark too. He’d tried to leave. He’d come back.

And then what?

He kept digging. Ten minutes later, he found a second reference—a property tax record from three years after the ledger entry. The Bellamy house was listed under joint ownership: Mara Bellamy and Elias Bellamy.

Three years after he supposedly disappeared.

Jonah printed both pages, folded them, and tucked them in his pocket. He cleared the browser history, logged out, and left the library.

He wrote in the notebook: Day 3. Red Lodge, MT. Confirmed: Elias was marked. He ran. He returned. Ledger said he completed vow. Tax record showed his name on property 3 years later. No death record. No body. Fate unknown. Covenant erased or transformed its marked men.
