Chapter 7: Openly Married on Floor 12

Erotica Sex Story: Chapter 7: Openly Married on Floor 12 - Imogen Castellanos is 30, a razor-sharp M&A lawyer. Owen Maddox is 32 and runs IT security one floor down. Their firm fires staff who date colleagues. Nobody there knows they've been married two years. So they play a game: a secret office affair, with rules on a sticky note and points for every breach. Desk-hidden oral, a server-room quickie, a stranger roleplay at the company retreat, creampies, squirting, a glass lift and one very public kiss cam. How long can a marriage stay a secret?

Nil–nil. A fresh board for a fresh arrangement, and this time the note went on the outside of my office door, at eye height, above the frosted band where the whole bullpen could read it:

RINGS ON. HANDS OFF. (ANYTHING THEY CAN PROVE.) IC. OM.

I wore the oxblood again, a sheath this time, and red lace underneath, which nobody could prove either. My chain was in the jewellery dish at home. My ring was on my finger, where it had been since 7:30, when I’d walked out of the loft with Owen beside me instead of twenty minutes behind, and we’d taken the same street for the first time in two years.

It was a strange day. A good one, but strange, like the first day back after a long illness when your legs aren’t quite sure of the stairs.

Tess arrived at my door at 8:03 with two coffees and a face like a subpoena.

“You let me call him brave,” she said. “To your face. At the bar. While you were wearing a fake wedding ring. Over a real one.”

“It was on a chain. Technically it was under.”

“I’m going to need the whole thing. Over a very long lunch. That you pay for.”

“That’s fair.”

She put a coffee down in front of me and looked at my hand and her face softened, just for a second, before she remembered she was furious. “It’s a nice ring.”

“He picked it.”

“Of course he did. IT guys.” She got as far as the door and turned back. “The Bulls have a kiss cam too, you know. December. I’ve got four seats, and I know exactly where I’m putting you two.”

“Tess.”

“Front row. Right under the screen,” she said, and went away shaking her head.

At 8:05 Owen came up with my other coffee, the one he makes me every morning at home, in the travel cup, and put it on my desk in full view of the bullpen, and went away again. Dev, at his desk outside, watched this happen with his mouth slightly open. At half past nine he appeared in my doorway holding a draft he didn’t need signed.

“Can I ask something?” he said. “Monday the fifth. The laptop. The one IT fixed while you were on the Halyard call.”

“You can ask, Dev.”

He thought about it. I watched him work it out, and arrive, and go pink to the ears, and then, to his enormous credit, square his shoulders like a man filing something permanently under not my business.

“Never mind,” Dev said. “Congratulations. On the ring. And for what it’s worth, I’m going to start knocking. Forever.” He went back to his desk and kept his eyes on his screen until ten.

At eleven somebody changed the contact name on Owen’s internal extension, on the firm directory, from IT Security to Legal Helpdesk. Owen swore it wasn’t him. At noon a second sticky note appeared on my door beside the first one, in anonymous capitals: GET A ROOM. By one o’clock someone had initialled it underneath in small, perfect print. OM.

At four, Halyard signed.

We did it in the Aquarium, the glass boardroom on fourteen, with the whole deal team and their whole deal team and forty signature pages, and when the last one went round the table Harriet nodded to someone and the champagne came in. I’d been working on Halyard for fourteen months. I took my glass left-handed, without thinking about it, and raised it, and the ring clinked against the flute.

Harriet, at the head of the table, saw. She raised hers a fraction of an inch towards me, and very nearly smiled.

“Congratulations, Imogen,” she said, when the room had thinned. “On both counts.”

“Thank you, Harriet.”

“Tell your husband the data room held.”

“He’ll be unbearable about it.”

“Men usually are,” Harriet said, and went to shake hands with Halyard’s general counsel.

By half past seven the Aquarium was empty. The deal team had gone to a steakhouse. Harriet had gone home, or wherever Harriet goes. Fourteen was dark except for the Aquarium, where the caterers had left the lights on and a litter of crumpled napkins at one end, and a long walnut table gleaming under the downlights, twenty-two feet of it.

The glass walls of the Aquarium have electric frosting. Press the button by the door and the glass goes from clear to milk-white in two seconds, for confidential meetings. The corridor outside has motion-sensor lights: nobody walks down it without the lights coming on, panel by panel, a long way off.

At 8:40 Owen came in and pressed the button, and the corridor glass went white. Then he turned the downlights off. The river bend and the lit towers did the rest; from outside, the river-side glass was a black mirror, and the corridor side was milk.

I was standing at the head of the table, where Harriet sits. I looked at him, and put my left hand flat on the walnut, and tapped the ring on it twice. Tick, tick.

“Here?” he said.

“Her table. Yes.”

He came round the table to me. He didn’t hurry. There was nothing to hurry for, for once, and I watched him realise that on the way.

He turned me round and unzipped the oxblood down my back, and in the empty room the zip was as loud as tearing paper. The dress loosened off my shoulders. He turned me back to face him and laid me down on Harriet’s walnut, the sheath rucked to my waist, the wood cool under my shoulder blades and faintly tacky with the rings the champagne flutes had left.

He slid the red lace down my legs. All the way down, past my knees, over my ankles, off. He set it on the table beside an empty flute, very neatly, and I smiled at him for that, and he ignored me.

He knelt at the end of the table and kissed the insides of my thighs. Soft kisses, one after another, his beard dragging, working up from my knees towards me and stopping every time just short. Then starting again on the other side. Twice. Three times. I pushed my heels against the edge of the table and lifted my hips at him, and he pressed them back down with one hand and went on exactly as he was.

Then he stood.

Two fingers slid inside me and curled, up against the front wall, in a steady come-here stroke. His other hand went flat and low on my belly, just above the bone, and pressed, firmly, so that I could feel the curl of his fingers from inside and outside at once, meeting through me. Patient. He did it patiently for a long time, watching my face, and then he began to do it faster.
