POV: Philip
The front door clicked shut, the sound a final, satisfying punctuation mark. The rumble of Paul and Olivia’s camper faded through the foundation and then was gone, leaving behind an immediate, electric silence that descended on the livingroom charged, pregnant with possibility, a territory without precedent. Philip stood in the center of the expansive, open-plan space, fifteen years old and suddenly aware of his own breathing, the strange fluttering energy in his chest that made his hands feel disconnected from his body. The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the backyard, where the in-ground pool and manicured garden sat in twilight, a perfect, silent world that now felt like it belonged entirely to them. Lily was beside him, her eyes wide, her fingers twisting the hem of her shirt a nervous energy that was part excitement and part disorientation, the same thrilling uncertainty Philip felt written plainly on her face.
Rachel, however, was a force of nature, a vibrant, humming presence that sucked all the air from the room and replaced it with the scent of expensive perfume and pure, unadulterated confidence. She sauntered into the center of the livingroom, her curvy hips swaying with practiced, rhythmic grace that spoke of years spent under observation. She stopped, hands on her hips, and surveyed them with a slow, predatory smile that promised the weekend ahead would be anything but dull.
“Well,” she drawled, her voice a low, husky purr that seemed to vibrate right through him. She looked around the empty house, then back at them with a slow, knowing smile. “I’m starving. You two eat pizza?” She clapped her hands, the sound sharp and decisive in the quiet house, a declaration of a new regime. “Good. Because tonight we do things my way.” The words hung in the air, not as a question, but as a thrilling promise.
The pizza arrived, greasy and heavy with pepperoni and extra cheese, and it was exactly what Philip wanted. They ate on the floor in the living area, a chaotic circle of paper plates and soda cans that felt both juvenile and somehow significant. As they ate, Rachel, with an effortless charm, started asking them about their lives. Not like an interrogator, but like a curious friend.
“So, Philip,” she began, taking a large bite of pizza. “Tell me about school. Besides the fact that you’re apparently a gaming god, what’s it really like? Do you actually like it, or is it just something you have to do?”
He shrugged, feeling a flush creep up his neck. “It’s okay, I guess. Some classes are better than others. I like history. The rest is just ... there. Something you get through.”
“And girls?” she pushed, a teasing glint in her eye. “A guy who looks like you must have them falling all over you.”
He almost choked on his pizza. “No,” he said, a little too quickly. “Not really. I’m not ... I’m not like that. I’m better at ... you know ... screens than people.”
Rachel laughed, a low, throaty sound. “Honey, screens are people too. Just different. And you, little Lily,” she said, turning her attention to his sister. “Olivia tells me you’re a phenomenal artist. That your room is a gallery. Is that your dream? To be a famous painter?”
Lily’s face lit up, a blush creeping up her cheeks that was part pride and part shyness. “I love to draw,” she said, her voice soft but sure. “I see things ... people ... and I just have to get them down on paper. It’s like ... breathing. I don’t know if I want to be famous, but I want to do it forever. I want to make things that make people feel something.”
“Good for you,” Rachel said, her approval genuine and warm. “You stick with that. Never let anyone tell you your dreams are silly. They’re not. They’re the most important things you have.” She looked between them, her gaze softening slightly. “And your parents? How do you two handle ... well, all this? This big house, your dad working all the time. Do you miss your mom?”
The question hung in the air, heavy and sudden. Philip felt the familiar ache of it, the hollow space where a memory should be. “I ... I don’t really remember her,” he admitted quietly. “Not really. So it’s not like I miss her. I miss the idea of her, I guess.”
Lily just shook her head, her eyes welling up slightly. “It’s just us,” she said softly. “And Philip. He’s always been there.”
When the pizza was finished, they cleaned up, the three of them working together to wipe down the counter and stack the plates in the dishwasher. Then they settled back on the couches, the empty pizza box a testament to their meal.
Rachel stretched, a languid, cat-like motion that ended with her arms resting behind her head. “Your dad and Olivia are probably halfway to the mountains by now.” She let the silence stretch for a moment, her eyes drifting between them. “Speaking of my sister ... she tell you what I do for a living?”
Philip and Lily both nodded slowly. “Yeah, she mentioned it, you are an adult actress” Philip said, his voice a little rough.
“A porn actress,” Rachel said. “So you’re not shocked. But I’m guessing you have questions. Don’t be shy. There’s no such thing as a stupid question.”
Lily, emboldened, spoke first. “Is it ... is it weird? Doing that with so many people watching?”
“It can be,” Rachel admitted, her tone shifting to something more instructional, like a teacher explaining a difficult concept. “At first, it’s very strange. You’re aware of every camera, every crew member. But you learn to create a bubble. You learn to block it all out and just focus on the pleasure and your partner. It’s a skill, like anything else. You have to be mentally strong.”
“Do you ... do you like it?” Philip asked, the words feeling clumsy in his mouth.
“Honestly? Most of the time, yes,” Rachel said, a thoughtful look on her face. “I’m a very sexual person. I love sex. I love performing. It’s a rush, a high like nothing else. But it’s not all fun and games. It’s hard work. The hours are long, the physical demands are intense. You have to be in incredible shape. And emotionally ... it can be draining. You have to separate the act from your real self, or you’ll lose your mind.” She looked between them. “What about you two? Ever watched porn?”
Philip felt his face get hot, but he forced himself to nod. “Sometimes,” he mumbled.
“Don’t be shy,” Rachel said with a wink. “Every boy your age is watching. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. What kind of porn do you like to watch?”
“Just ... normal,” Philip said, his voice barely audible. “A boy and a girl.”
“And what about two girls?” Rachel pressed.
Philip felt his face burn even hotter. “Yeah ... I like that too,” he admitted.
“Good,” Rachel purred. “Variety is the spice of life.” She turned her gaze to Lily. “And what about you, sweetie?”
“Me too,” Lily said quietly, and Philip s head snapped toward his sister. He couldn’t believe it. His little sister?
Rachel raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And what do you like to watch?”
Lily’s cheeks went pink. “I don’t know. Just ... whatever.”
“Be honest now,” Rachel coaxed, her voice gentle but firm. “What do you really like to watch?”
