Erotica Sex Story: Chapter 1 - Jack’s girlfriend dumps him mid-sex the night before graduation. A week later he’s in Vegas as best man for his oldest friend’s wedding. What starts as a duty trip turns into a blur of hotel rooms, open relationships, and pure excess before ordinary life in Atlanta begins. Between the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the final night, Jack is pulled into a world without limits—and has to decide what, if anything, he takes with him when the weekend ends.

May 2001.

Tuscaloosa stank of cut grass and hot asphalt and the dying sweetness of azaleas. Jack Livingston leaned against the brick wall of the fraternity house with two beers and a shared joint still humming low in his blood. Music pounded through the open windows like a pulse that belonged to someone else. Voices rose and fell in the yard. Someone shouted about graduation tomorrow. Someone else laughed the way people laugh when they know the world is about to end and they have decided not to notice.

Layla Rhodes stood close enough that the citrus of her shampoo cut through the smoke. Red hair pulled back, cheeks flushed from heat and drink. Thin white tank top clinging to her body where the sweat had soaked through. Cut-off denim shorts that left most of her legs free.

They had known each other since sophomore year. Classes, parties, late nights in the library that became something wetter and more urgent. Exclusive since their senior year started, mostly because it was convenient and the sex was great. Jack never saw their exclusive relationship as a formal promise or long-term commitment. To him it was temporary and convenient, something that worked while they were both still in college, not a binding agreement about the future. Recently she had started talking about the future more than he wanted to hear. Atlanta for him. Birmingham for her. He would change the subject or kiss her until she stopped.

His degree was Computer Science. He was starting at First Data in Atlanta on June first as a software engineer, writing code that handled credit-card transactions. Hers was Accounting. She was starting at Arthur Andersen in Birmingham on July first as a staff auditor. The dates sat between them, real and getting closer, and he still treated the whole thing like it would sort itself out.

She had been quiet on the walk over, quieter than the usual quiet.

“Ready?” he said.

She nodded. They crossed the yard, took the stairs two at a time, and shut the door of his room on the second floor. One desk lamp threw dirty yellow light across the unmade bed, the textbooks he would never open again, the suitcase half-packed for Atlanta.

She turned into him before either of them spoke. Her mouth tasted of beer and the sweet ash of the joint. Hands under his shirt, palms warm against the ribs. He backed her to the bed. Sandals kicked off. Tank top over her head and onto the chair. Shorts unbuttoned and pushed down. Plain cotton panties for a second, then those gone too.

She pushed him onto the mattress and climbed after. Mouth tracing the line of his stomach, lower. Freed him from the boxers, fingers around the base, and took him between her lips. Wet heat. Slow pressure. The soft scrape of teeth she always used when she wanted him to feel the edge of it. His hand in her hair. Red strands falling across his thighs. Shoulders moving with each stroke.

Still good, he thought. Even if the rest of it is packing itself away.

After a while she rose, knees astride him, and guided his hand between her legs. Two fingers into the slick heat. Slow, thumb circling, watching for the usual tightening of the jaw, the soft sound that meant it was right. Tonight the sound came late and thin, like something borrowed.

He rolled the rubber on with that same old mechanical precision, the kind a man acquires after a year of the same cunt, the same nights, the same soft demands of love that turn into habit. She swung a leg over him like she was mounting a horse she no longer cared to ride and sank down, the heat of her closing around him in a sudden wet fist. For a minute it was the old rhythm, hips rolling, palms braced on his chest, the familiar slide and pull. Then the difference hit him like a slap. The motion stayed mechanical, a pump working without joy. Her eyes fixed somewhere past his shoulder, past the room, past him entirely. The little animal sounds she used to make, those soft wet gasps that told him she was there with him, never came.

He caught her hips.

“Hey. Something wrong?”

She kept moving. “No. Why?”

“You don’t seem like yourself. Feels like you’re just going through the motions.”

“I’m fine.”

“You don’t seem fine. But whatever.”

She stopped. “I can’t do this.”

She climbed off him in one clean, final motion and reached for her clothes. Panties first, then the shorts, the tank top. She dressed fast, not looking at him, as if the act itself had become a dirty thing she wanted to erase.

Jack sat up, the rubber still hanging from his prick like a sad flag of surrender, the room suddenly colder than any air-conditioning could make it. “Wait. What the fuck is going on? What do you mean you can’t do this?”

She turned. Tears already tracked down both cheeks, shining in the cheap lamp light. Her voice cracked on the first word.

“Us, Jack. Us. We graduate tomorrow. You’re going to Atlanta. I’m going to Birmingham. I love you. This past year has been great. But I’m done. This shit is getting real and I can’t fake it anymore. I need some space.”

He stared at her. The joint’s haze thinned to nothing. The beer’s warmth drained out of his limbs like blood from a cut throat. His mouth stayed closed because what the hell was there to say when a woman has already decided the world is ending?

She wiped her face with the back of one hand. “Are you going to say anything? Anything at all?”

He found his voice. It came out flat as a dead man’s pulse.

“What do you want me to say? You’ve obviously already decided. And you clearly don’t give a shit what I think. If you did, this isn’t how you’d handle it. I love you too. But I’m not going to beg. If you want to talk this out like adults, fine. If you don’t want to be with me, then go.”

She finished dressing in silence. Sandals. She crossed to the door. Her hand settled on the knob like it was the only solid thing left in the universe.

Jack spoke one more time, the words scraping out of him.

“Can you at least be honest and tell me if there’s someone else?”

She looked back once. Eyes red. Voice steady now, the tears already drying into something harder.

“There’s no one else. I love you, Jack. I really do. But I need a clean start. I’m sorry.”

The door opened. She stepped into the hallway. The door closed behind her with a soft, final click that sounded louder than any slam.

The desk lamp hummed like a cheap insect. Outside, the party music still thumped through the walls, distant and meaningless. He stared at the closed door and waited for the next breath to come.

Well, he thought. That was that.

He sat on the edge of the bed a while longer, the condom still hanging useless, and tried to decide whether the hollow feeling in his chest was heartbreak or just the sudden absence of a convenient body. He couldn’t tell the difference yet. Maybe there wasn’t one.

After what seemed like an hour, but was actually about 10 minutes, he peeled off the condom, dropped it in the trash can by the desk, and stood. The room felt larger than it had five minutes ago, vast and empty as a cathedral after the last prayer. He crossed to the dresser, pulled out the small wooden box and the half-empty bottle of Jose Cuervo. He packed the bowl dense, almost to the rim, lit it, and drew deep. The smoke hit the back of his throat like hot asphalt poured straight from the truck. He chased it with two hard swallows of tequila straight from the bottle. Then another. Then the rest of the bowl.

The walls softened. The desk lamp stretched into a yellow smear. He dropped onto the couch, bottle still in one hand, and kept going until the bottle was lighter and the room was spinning in slow, heavy circles, the kind that make a man feel like he’s floating in warm oil. Somewhere past that the music downstairs faded into nothing, a distant thump that no longer belonged to the living. He passed out sitting up, head tilted against the armrest, mouth open like a man waiting for the next kiss that would never come.
