Today is Michelle’s birthday and I’m trying to look my best. We are gong to dinner at her favorite restaurant before meeting her friends at a club.
Michelle arrived looking every bit My Queen.
My favorite yellow dress that is reserved but sexy, high heels make her luscious brown legs flex in just the right spots, and the skirt shows off her curves.
“Happy Birthday Q” as i give her a hug and she gives me one of her soft wet kisses that make me melt.
“Thanks honey. New suit? Very nice!”
“I got you a little present. Close your eyes and turn around.”
I put a delicate gold chain around her neck with a Q shaped pendant and few small diamonds set in it.
She walks to the mirror. “Mike I love it! Thanks baby!” With another of her melting kisses.
I hear her phone go off with a text.
She looks at her phone. “OH MY GOD! Mike I have to go. My aunt just called an ambulance for my mom.”
“You go be careful. Let me know how she is.”
“I will honey.”
The funeral was a week later. Her mother had been sick for quite a while but it was still a shock to her. We aren’t officially a couple and Michelle didn’t expect to see me. I walk into the chapel and most everyone looked at the big white man. I saw her standing off to the side getting a tearful hug from some ladies.
When our eyes met she walked
slowly to me, put her arms around my waist and buried her face in my chest and cried. I hugged her like I never have before.
I could feel the whole chapel watching us.
“I can’t believe you came.”
“I would do anything for you.” She was wearing all black except for her Q necklace.
The first rows were for immediate family only but Michelle made sure I sat right behind her.
As she sobbed through the service I did my best to touch her shoulder to remind her I was there for her.
After the service I waited outside the doors for the family to come out and Michelle took my arm as we walked out.
“And who are you young man?” Michelle’s grandmother asked me.
