Chapter 1

Romantic Sex Story: Chapter 1 - His job is demanding, the kind that does not clock out when he does. It comes through the door with him: the tension in his shoulders, the faraway look, the sense that he is still at the office even when he is sitting across from her. She notices. She worries. She loves him enough to want the man who used to leave work at work, not the exhausted version who cannot switch off. So she starts looking for a way to help him. A caring wife, willing to do whatever it takes to bring him back to her.

Daniel’s phone lit up again at 9:47 p.m. He was still in his work shirt, sleeves rolled, the top button undone like a concession that didn’t mean anything. The call was short. He listened more than he spoke, nodded once even though no one could see him, and ended it with a quiet, “I’ll have the numbers by morning.”

Lena watched him from the kitchen doorway. She had finished her own work hours earlier. A client’s book cover sat approved in her inbox. The rest of the evening had been hers. His had not.

He set the phone face down on the counter and exhaled through his nose. The sound was small, practiced. She had heard versions of it for months.

“Come to bed,” she said.

He looked at her. For a second the distance was still there, the part of him that stayed in the office even when his body was home. Then he nodded and followed.

They undressed without ceremony. The bedroom was dim, the window open enough for the cool air to move the curtain. He reached for her the way he always did, hands sure, mouth finding the place under her jaw that usually made her tilt her head. She let him. She always had.

He guided her onto her back and settled between her thighs. Familiar weight. Familiar rhythm. He kissed her while he moved, slow at first, then deeper when she made a soft sound against his mouth. His body was warm and solid, the slight softness at his middle the only real sign that the gym had lost the war against long days. She ran her hands down his back and felt the tension still held there, even now.

He finished with a quiet breath against her neck and stayed inside her a moment longer than necessary, forehead resting against hers. Then he eased out, rolled to the side, and reached for the tissues on the nightstand. The ordinary care of it. The way he always cleaned them both before the quiet settled.
