I slipped into the kitchen, firmly closing the door behind me, and froze for a moment, listening intently to the sounds beyond it. My heart was still hammering against my ribs, my breathing hadn’t fully steadied, and between my legs, a slow, throbbing warmth pulsed. But the real chaos was in my head. There was a naked man in my flat. Well, fine—not a man, a boy. And a rather handsome one at that. But one who, not so long ago, had been a wolf. Hovering over me, and...

“Stop it! Calm down!” I told myself, but my inner voice sneered, “Someone wasn’t complaining about him being a wolf just a little while ago.”

As Jess would say after her trip to Russia: “I’m no Gazprom, but dreams do come true sometimes.” Though she’d always refused to explain what that company had to do with dreams. Maybe she didn’t know herself.

Shaking my head, I realised I needed some external help to clear the fog. I rarely smoked—mostly just kept a pack for Jess—but right now, I physically needed the taste and smell of tobacco. And contrary to what anyone might say about its dangers, nicotine did wonders for clearing the mind.

With trembling fingers, I pulled out a cigarette and flicked the lighter. The first deep drag scorched my lungs, but clarity followed. I pressed my forehead against the cool glass of the window, watching the darkness deepen outside.

Fragments of memories swirled in my head: his tongue, his teeth, his scent ... and that moment of transformation—the flash of light, the crack of bones, the roar shifting into a human voice.

“A werewolf. A real werewolf,” I repeated to myself, exhaling smoke. But instead of fear—the natural reaction—what I felt was ... excitement.

What would happen next?

Grey was probably cleaning up the floor, gathering clumps of fur, wondering what to say to me. And here I was, hiding, smoking, trying to process the fact that my life had just taken a sharp turn into something wild, dangerous, and irresistibly alluring.

The door creaked softly. I spun around, holding my breath. There stood Grey—still wrapped in just a towel, his hair damp, his amber gaze even more knowing now, almost human.

“The mess is cleaned up,” he said quietly. “Can we talk?”

I slowly stubbed out the cigarette in the ashtray and nodded.

“Yes, we should. But first...”

My hands still trembled slightly. Out of habit, I reached for the kettle switch, but then sighed and changed my mind. At two in the morning, after a magical sex-induced shock, I needed something stronger.

I opened the top cabinet and pulled out a half-finished bottle of medium-sweet white wine.

“Want some?” I asked, turning to Grey, who was standing frozen in the doorway.

I studied him with ravenous, insatiable curiosity. The shock had faded with the nicotine, giving way to a reckless, almost teenage thrill. There was no fear—just thick confusion and a wild, physical pull. This young man drew me in like an invisible tether.

He was dressed only in my fluffy towel, which rested precariously on his hip bones. With every step he took, the terry cloth shifted dangerously, making me swallow hard. This lean, cheeky brute had, not so long ago in the form of a massive beast, licked me to screams right here in this kitchen.

The realisation burned through my mind.

Grey tilted his head slightly to the side—just like he had in wolf form when sniffing something out. His nostrils flared almost imperceptibly, drawing in the air.

“He’s sniffing me,” flashed through my mind, and the thought sent a shiver down my spine.

“Sure,” Grey chuckled, his amber eyes gleaming mischievously in the dark. “I think you could use some alcohol to calm your nerves. And I’ll join you—just for company.”

With a familiar wolfish cunning, he winked at me. I grabbed two glasses, poured the wine generously, and without waiting for a toast, downed mine in almost one gulp. The pleasant burn in my throat spread warmth through my body, finally bringing the relaxation I’d been craving.

Grey stepped closer, took his glass, but didn’t drink. He stared at me—intently, hypnotically, barely blinking—just like that grey wolf in the car. There was something primal, almost animalistic, in his gaze.

“Sasha, are you even ... alive?” he asked.

“Fine, as you can see.” I lifted my chin defiantly, leaning back against the edge of the kitchen counter. “No fainting. Vets have pretty tough constitutions.”

“Yeah, you’re strong. Good for you,” he approved, taking a small sip. His Adam’s apple bobbed temptingly on his muscular neck. “Don’t be afraid of me, please. The last thing I wanted was to scare you. And I shouldn’t have transformed in front of you—my magic slipped because of your ... because of your intense reaction. And honestly, I shouldn’t have come with you from the forest at all. It was dangerous.”

“Why did you come, then?” I asked softly, staring into the amber depths of his eyes.

“I couldn’t leave,” Grey answered simply, and there was a terrifying, primal seriousness in his voice. “It was like I was tied to you the moment you stepped out of the car. It’s an irresistible pull, Sasha. And I ... I really enjoyed tonight with you.”

Something sweet clenched inside me.

“I enjoyed it too—with the wolf,” I admitted, looking away shyly. “But I can’t quite reconcile you—the cute naked boy—with him—that huge, grey predator. It doesn’t fit in my head. It’s like two different realities.”

“I get it.” Grey slyly narrowed his eyes, taking another step forward and reducing the distance between us to a critical minimum. The scent of mint soap and that wild, intoxicating musk radiated from his smooth, bare skin. “But it’s all me. From start to finish. Want me to prove it?”

“Hey, stop!” I laughed nervously, pouring myself more wine. “You’ve spent the last ten minutes scrubbing away evidence of your ‘wolfiness’ from my bedroom floor. What more proof do I need? Just don’t turn back into a wolf, I beg you. My heart can’t take another round of bone-crunching tonight.”

“Turning back into a wolf isn’t as painful or messy,” Grey cheerfully smirked, setting his glass on the table. “But I won’t. I’ll try to prove you wrong another way. The human way.”

He took the final step, practically pressing me into the counter. I instinctively flinched, a jolt of electricity running through me, but I didn’t push him away. My pulse pounded in my temples, my breath hitched, and I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to regain control over the sudden weakness.

The next moment, I felt his large, hot hands. They settled confidently, possessively, around my waist, squeezing my skin through the thin silk of the robe. Grey pressed his lean, firm body against me—I could feel the towel slip, and his hard, burning cock pressed right into my thigh.

The werewolf leaned in and gently, with exquisite tenderness, kissed my cheek. Then, slowly, teasingly, he traced the tip of his wet tongue up the sensitive skin of my neck and bit down on my earlobe. A wanton, helpless moan escaped my throat.

Blindly, without looking, I set my glass on the counter and, giving in to impulse, wrapped my arms around his neck. My hands eagerly began exploring his body—sliding over his broad shoulders, his firm back, his sculpted arms. Grey was incredibly hot; the blood in his veins seemed to boil.

“You taste so good, Sasha...” he rasped into my lips, his breath warm with wine. “Your scent ... it drives me wild. Pure madness.”

His whisper sent an army of shivers cascading down my spine, and a tight, hot bud of new desire bloomed in my lower abdomen. My body, which hadn’t fully cooled from the orgasm, flared to life again.

One of Grey’s hands greedily, almost painfully, squeezed my breast through the nightdress, making my nipple harden instantly under his fingers. His other hand slid lower, shamelessly caressing the skin at my lower back and pressing my hips against his groin.

My thoughts turned to ash, and I had no desire to break these forbidden, insane embraces. Grey moved to my other ear, teasingly nipping the delicate skin again.

“So, Sasha? Do I remind you of your wolf?” he breathed, his whole body vibrating.

I opened my hazy eyes, looking at his wicked, triumphant smirk, and threading my fingers through his damp, sandy-blond hair, I boldly whispered:

“Proof accepted ... you naughty dog.”
