Chapter 4: Time Flies

As my college schedule started to fall into place, I was starting to adapt to the life of working part time and going to school. I was doing well, I did feel a bit more exhausted then I had been but nonetheless, going well. The most overwhelming part was feeling like I was not making enough money during this time. However, in the back of my mind, I knew that was going to change very soon. It was the night before my scheduled flight and as it got closer to bed time, I started realizing that my adrenaline was rushing and actually falling asleep was going to be a challenge.

The night went on, I tried falling asleep but was not having much luck. I ended up taking a melatonin and it helped a little. Throughout the night, I was twisting and turning, and falling in and out of sleep - I probably got like 4 hours that night. It eventually hit 8 A.M. and I decided to start getting ready for my flight. I got a little cardio workout in beforehand and I had breakfast. I had already packed my bags the night prior, so I had that all ready to go.

My friend Brianna texted me she was on her way. She was the one driving me to the airport. I got in her car and I was having a hard time holding it all in. I could not come clean to her about the reason for my visit, and I told her that I was visiting family that I haven’t met before. Little did I know, it would create some hurdles. I had to fabricate a story about how they were family from my mom’s side that I haven’t seen in years.
