The morning of the collaring ceremony arrives with the kind of electric anticipation that makes your skin tingle and your heart race. I’ve been awake for hours, watching the sunrise paint the sky in shades of gold and crimson, thinking about what’s about to happen.

You’re probably wondering why I’m so invested in this ceremony. Why I’ve planned every detail, why I’ve invited every important person in my life, why I’ve made this moment so significant. The answer is simple: this is the moment Emma becomes mine. Completely, permanently, irrevocably mine.

Emma kneels beside my bed, her body naked and trembling. She’s been awake for hours too, preparing herself for what’s coming. Her body has healed from the surgery, her scars faded but visible. She’s ready. She’s so ready.

“Are you ready?” I ask.

She looks up at me, her eyes bright with tears. “Yes, Mistress. I’ve never been more ready for anything.”

I take her face in my hands. “This is the moment you become Lexi, Emma. The moment you stop being a person and start being property. The moment you belong to me completely.”

“I understand, Mistress. I want this. I’ve never wanted anything more.”

I kiss her forehead. “Then let’s begin.”

The preparation is intimate and ritualistic. I lead Lexi to the bathing chamber, where warm water steams in a marble tub. I wash her body myself, my hands moving over her skin with deliberate care. I oil her skin, anointing her with scented oils that will make her gleam in the candlelight.

“You’re beautiful,” I whisper. “You’ve never been more beautiful.”

She shivers at my touch. “Thank you, Mistress.”

I dry her body with soft towels, then lead her to the mirror. She looks at her reflection—naked, collared (temporarily, for practice), her scars visible, her eyes bright with anticipation.

“This is what you are now, Lexi,” I say. “This is what you’ve chosen to become. Are you still sure?”

“Yes, Mistress. I’ve never been more sure.”

I take her hand. “Then let’s go. They’re waiting for us.”

The ballroom is filled with guests. My family is there—Caroline, Alex, Jay. My friends are there—members of the Paradigm’s inner circle. My staff is there, ready to serve. And David is there, watching me with pride.

The room is decorated with flowers and candles. The lighting is soft, the atmosphere reverent. This is a ceremony of transformation, of surrender, of belonging.

I lead Lexi to the center of the room. She’s completely naked, her body oiled and gleaming. She kneels before me, her head bowed, her hands clasped in her lap.

“Everyone,” I announce, “we are here to witness the collaring of Lexi. She has chosen this life. She has chosen to be sterilized. She has chosen to be collared. She has chosen to be nude. She has chosen to be mine.”

The room is silent. Everyone is watching.

I take the collar in my hands. It’s silver, simple, and elegant. Engraved on the inside are the words: “Property of Ruth Copeland.”

“Lexi,” I say, my voice ringing through the ballroom. “Do you choose this? Do you choose to be sterilized, collared, and owned?”

She looks up at me, tears streaming down her face. “I choose this. I want this. I need this. I am yours.”

I place the collar around her neck.

“Then I claim you. I own you. You are mine.”

The collar clicks shut.

The room erupts in applause.

Lexi is no longer Emma Vale. She is Lexi, property of Ruth Copeland.

She belongs to me.

I kneel beside her and take her face in my hands. I kiss her forehead, gently.

“You are mine,” I whisper. “Forever.”

She’s crying, tears streaming down her face. “Forever,” she repeats. “Forever.”

The ceremony ends, but the celebration continues. I lead Lexi through the crowd, introducing her to everyone. She’s nervous, but she’s proud. Her collar gleams in the candlelight. Her body is on display.

Caroline approaches, tears in her eyes. “She’s beautiful, Ruth. She’s perfect.”

“Thank you, Caroline. I’m so proud of her.”

“She’s lucky to have you. You’re a good owner.”

I smile. “I try to be.”

Alex approaches, his face hard. “You’ve ruined us. You’ve destroyed everything our family has worked for.”

“Or I’ve finally made us honest.”

Jay approaches, his face leering. “She’s gorgeous. Can I borrow her?”

I stare at him coldly. “No. She’s mine. Forever.”

Jay shrugs. “Just asking.”

I lead Lexi away from him, toward the quieter part of the room. She’s trembling slightly.

“Don’t worry about him,” I say. “He’s nothing. He’s always been nothing.”

She nods, her voice barely above a whisper. “I trust you, Mistress. I trust you completely.”

Marcus Stone is in the back of the room. I saw him arrive, saw him slip in with the other guests. He thinks he’s being subtle, but he’s not. I know he’s here. I’ve been waiting for him.

I leave Lexi with Caroline and walk to the back of the room. Marcus is standing in the shadows, his face pale, his eyes fixed on Lexi.

“Mr. Stone,” I say. “I knew you’d come.”

He looks at me, his face a mixture of horror and fascination. “I had to see it. I had to see what you were doing.”

“And now that you’ve seen it? What do you think?”

He’s silent for a long moment. Then he says, “I don’t know. I don’t know what I think.”

I smile. “That’s okay, Mr. Stone. You don’t have to know yet. You just have to see. To understand. To feel.”

I gesture to Lexi. “Look at her. Look at her face. Does she look like a victim to you?”

He looks at Lexi. She’s smiling, her eyes bright, her body relaxed. She’s happy. She’s at peace.

“No,” he admits. “She doesn’t look like a victim.”

“Because she’s not. She’s a volunteer. She’s chosen this. She’s wanted this her whole life. And now she has it. Now she’s free.”

Marcus looks at me, his eyes searching. “And you? Are you free?”

“More than I’ve ever been, Mr. Stone. More than I’ve ever been.”

The celebration continues into the night. I lead Lexi to the garden, where the moonlight casts silver shadows across the grass.

“Kneel,” I command.

She kneels.

“I want you to understand what just happened, Lexi. I want you to understand what you’ve become.”

She looks up at me, her eyes bright. “I understand, Mistress. I’m yours. Completely and permanently yours.”

“Yes. You’re mine. And you’ll always be mine.”

I take her face in my hands. “Tonight is the first night of your new life. The first night of being mine. And I’m going to make sure you never forget it.”

She shivers with anticipation. “I’m ready, Mistress. I’m so ready.”

I pull her to me and kiss her. Hard. Deep. Possessive.

“You’re mine,” I whisper against her lips. “Forever.”

I lead Lexi to the library. My father’s library. The room where I’ve spent so many hours, surrounded by ghosts and memories.

“This was my father’s favorite room,” I say. “He used to bring Lily here. His pet. His treasure. His belongings.”

I walk to the painting and open the safe. I pull out the photographs and spread them on the desk.

Lexi looks at them, her eyes wide. “They’re so beautiful. They look so ... peaceful.”

“They were. They had what you have now. Belonging. Purpose. Freedom.”

I take her hand. “My mother sold Lily. She was jealous. She was afraid. She couldn’t understand that love isn’t finite. That loving someone else doesn’t mean loving you less.”

“That’s terrible. That’s so sad.”

“Yes. It was. My father never recovered. He died of a broken heart.”

Lexi looks at me, her eyes full of tears. “I’m so sorry.”

“I’m not. Because I’m going to bring her back. I’m going to find Lily and bring her home. And I’m going to finish what my father started.”
