Prologue: Nebelgutt

Franziska slowly paced in front of her students; Delia and Duane. She was wearing a long black robe, loose fitting and very low cut in the front. Her dark hair trailed down her back. Her two students were both seated at small tables.

Though Duane was far more advanced that Delia his knowledge of magic was still limited. His commitments outside of the Coven made this process slow. That was okay; everyone learned at their own pace. Magical theory and practical spell casting were not things that could be taught easily.

“So, to review,” began Franziska. “Sexual Magic relies upon the slow building of magical potential in the practitioner through sexual activity over time. This is a potent source of power but is not the only one. Magical energy surrounds us here in Assiah, the Material Plane, but it is weak because the Decans are mixed. Some magical stones, called potestas lapis, can also hold magical power and recharge over time like a battery.

Brother Duane, what is a Decan?”

“A Decan is the one of the basic building blocks of the Universe,” said Duane.

“Good but incomplete,” said Franziska flatly. “Sister Delia, please help your coven-brother out.”

“Okay, okay, I know this,” murmured Delia. She looked at Franziska. “There are 36 Decans, one for each of the Words of Power that the Uncreated Being spoke when the universe was made. They flow from Atziluth and are more distinct in the higher planes so magic works easier there.”
