The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting long shadows across the bedroom.
Vivian stood in front of the mirror, fastening the buttons of a crisp white blouse.
She paused only long enough to tie her hair into a neat low bun.
Gone were the hesitant movements that once defined her.
Every gesture was calm.
Deliberate.
Confident.
She picked up her handbag and walked downstairs.
Adrian was already in the dining room.
A plate of breakfast sat untouched in front of him.
The divorce papers rested beside his coffee.
He looked up as Vivian entered.
“I made breakfast.”
Vivian glanced at the table.
“It looks nice.”
She reached for a glass of water instead.
“You should eat before it gets cold.”
She thanked him politely but made no move to sit.
Adrian’s chest tightened.
Months ago, she would have happily joined him.
Now...
She kept a careful distance between them.
“Vivian.”
She stopped walking.
“I know saying sorry isn’t enough.”
She remained silent.
“I know I hurt you.”
Still...
She didn’t speak.
Adrian slowly stood.
“I want to fix this.”
Vivian finally looked at him.
“You can’t fix years of neglect in a few days.”
Her voice wasn’t angry.
It was simply honest.
She adjusted the strap of her handbag.
“I’m going to work.”
As she reached the front door, Adrian spoke again.
“I haven’t signed the papers.”
Vivian rested her hand on the doorknob.
“When you’re ready...”
“You know where to find me.”
Then she walked out without looking back.
The sound of the closing door echoed through the house.
Adrian remained standing in the empty dining room.
For the first time...
He realized the silence in the house wasn’t peaceful.
It was lonely.
At L&B Interior Studio...
The atmosphere was lively again.
Designers moved between workstations.
Clients arrived for meetings.
The tension from the scandal had finally disappeared.
Chris wheeled his chair toward Vivian’s desk.
“Guess who’s famous again.”
Vivian laughed.
“I’d rather not be.”
He handed her his phone.
An article filled the screen.
> Award-Winning Designer Vivian Hart Officially Cleared of Plagiarism
Below it were hundreds of comments.
“She deserved an apology.”
“Talent always wins.”
“I’ve followed her work from the beginning. She earned this.”
Vivian scrolled quietly before handing the phone back.
“I’m glad the truth came out.”
Chris smiled.
“So are we.”
Daniel walked over carrying a stack of design samples.
“By the way...”
“Lena wants everyone in the conference room in fifteen minutes.”
Chris raised an eyebrow.
“Another meeting?”
Daniel shrugged.
“She didn’t say why.”
Fifteen minutes later...
The entire design department gathered around the long conference table.
Lena stood at the front with a presentation remote in her hand.
She smiled at the team.
“I know the past week has been difficult.”
“But because of everyone’s hard work...”
She clicked to the next slide.
A world map appeared on the screen.
Across it were highlighted cities.
Paris.
Singapore.
Toronto.
Milan.
Murmurs spread through the room.
Lena smiled.
“I’m happy to officially announce that L&B Interior Studio has finalized plans for its first international expansion.”
The room erupted into applause.
Chris looked like he might jump out of his chair.
“Are we seriously going global?”
Lena laughed.
“We are.”
She continued,
“The board has approved the opening of our first overseas branch.”
Vivian listened quietly.
She already knew.
But her colleagues didn’t.
Lena looked around the room.
“This expansion wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of every person in this room.”
She paused before smiling toward Vivian.
“And I’d also like to congratulate someone.”
Chris immediately whispered,
“It’s you.”
Vivian shot him a warning look.
He grinned.
Lena continued,
“After careful consideration, the board has chosen the person who will lead the creative team for our international branch.”
The room became silent.
Everyone waited.
Lena smiled.
“Miss Vivian Hart.”
For a heartbeat...
No one moved.
Then the room exploded with applause.
Chris stood first.
Daniel followed.
Soon everyone in the room was clapping.
Some even stood to congratulate her.
