The applause still echoed in Vivian’s mind even after she returned home.

Standing before the bedroom mirror, she slowly removed the earrings Lena had insisted she wear for the exhibition.

A smile tugged at her lips.

For the first time in years...

She felt proud of herself.

Not because people praised her.

But because she had finally proved to herself that she was capable.

The bedroom door opened.

Adrian walked in, loosening his tie.

His eyes met hers through the mirror.

“You haven’t slept yet?”

Vivian smiled faintly.

“I couldn’t.”

He nodded.

“I watched the replay of your speech.”

She turned to face him.

“And?”

“It was ... impressive.”

The compliment sounded unfamiliar coming from him.

For a brief moment, Vivian almost smiled.

“Thank you.”

Silence settled between them again.

It was the same silence that had filled their marriage for years.

Neither of them knew how to break it.

Adrian finally spoke.

“The board members were impressed.”

“So I heard.”

“You deserve the recognition.”

Vivian looked at him for a long second.

“I wish you had said that years ago.”

Before Adrian could answer...

She quietly walked past him and into the bathroom.

The door closed.

Adrian remained standing where he was.

For the first time...

He realized that the distance between them wasn’t measured in steps.

It was measured in years.

The next morning...

Vivian arrived at the office carrying a cup of coffee.

Chris waved excitedly.

“Our celebrity designer is finally here!”

Daniel laughed.

“You’re buying lunch today.”

Vivian rolled her eyes.

“Because I won an award?”

“Exactly.”

Lena stepped out of her office.

“There you are.”

She smiled.

“The board meeting has been moved to this afternoon.”

Vivian nodded.

“No problem.”

Just then...

The receptionist hurried toward them.

She looked nervous.

“Miss Hart...”

“There’s someone here insisting on seeing you.”

Vivian frowned.

“Who?”

“He says...”

The receptionist hesitated.

“ ... that you stole his design.”

The office froze.

Chris frowned.

“What?”

Before anyone could react...

A man in his early thirties walked through the entrance carrying a large portfolio.

Several people followed him, including two reporters with cameras.

He stopped directly in front of Vivian.

“So...”

“You’re Vivian Hart.”

Vivian stared at the stranger.

“I’m sorry...”

“Do I know you?”

The man gave a bitter laugh.

“No.”

“But I know my work.”

He placed the portfolio on the reception desk.

“My name is Mike Cole.”

“I’m an interior designer.”

“And the design that won you that exhibition...”

He slowly opened the portfolio.

“ ... belongs to me.”

The room fell silent.

Inside were sketches.

Floor plans.

Furniture layouts.

Even color palettes.

They looked...

Almost identical to Vivian’s award-winning project.

Chris immediately stepped forward.

“That’s impossible.”

Ethan looked him straight in the eye.

“Is it?”

He pulled out another document.

“These sketches were registered months before the exhibition.”

One of the reporters immediately raised a camera.

Flash!

Another flash followed.

Questions flew through the air.

“Miss Hart, do you have any response?”

“Did you copy this design?”

“Were you aware someone else owned the concept?”

Vivian felt the room closing in around her.

She looked at the sketches again.

They were so similar...

It was almost impossible to explain.

Across the office...

A familiar figure stood silently near the glass entrance.

Adrian.

He had just arrived.

And he had heard...

Everything.

The office fell into complete silence.

Vivian stared at the sketches spread across the reception desk.

Every line...

Every measurement...

Every color palette...

They looked almost identical to the presentation she had spent months creating.

Her brows furrowed.

No...

This wasn’t possible.

She had never seen those drawings before.

The man folded his arms confidently.

“Nothing to say?”

Vivian finally looked up.

“My response is simple.”

“I didn’t steal your work.”

He laughed mockingly.
