Chapter 61

Erotica Sex Story: Chapter 61 - Hello, everybody! This is Dragonpig. I'm going to be writing a collection of stories within the anthropomorphic, or furry, genre. Some will be short stories, some will be novel-length, and others will fall somewhere in between. Yes, some of these stories will be quite explicit, while others won't be. I'm going to keep this series going until I either get bored or find that people just aren't interested in it. I'd really enjoy hearing your opinions and thoughts on my writing. Have a good one!

“Rose. Rose!”

The voice pulled at me from somewhere far away, insistent and worried. I tried to open my eyes but my lids felt like stone, heavy and impossible to lift.

“Rose, can you hear me?”

Rapunzel. That was Rapunzel’s voice.

I forced my eyes open. The world swam into focus slowly—the low beamed ceiling of the cottage, the afternoon light streaming through the window, and Rapunzel’s face hovering above mine, her expression tight with concern.

“What—” My voice came out hoarse, my throat raw. “What happened?”

“Thank the goddess.” She sat back slightly, relief flooding her features. “You’re awake. How do you feel?”

“I feel...” I tried to move and my whole body protested, muscles aching like I’d been trampled by all the kings horses and men. “Terrible. What happened to me?”

“I came to bring you something—you forgot your change at the shop yesterday. Three copper pieces.” She gestured to the table where I could see the small coins sitting in a neat stack. “I knocked on your door and it swung open—it was already ajar. I found you on the floor, right there.” She pointed to a spot near the hearth. “You were barely breathing, your lips were blue, and you were convulsing.”

My stomach twisted. “Convulsing?”

“I could tell immediately it was poison. It has a particular smell—sweet, but with an undertone of something bitter, like almonds mixed with rotting flowers. I recognized it.” Her jaw tightened. “I had the right herbs with me, thank the goddess. Milk thistle, activated charcoal, a tincture I keep for emergencies. I got it down your throat and made you vomit. You brought up quite a bit, and then I gave you more of the tincture and waited.”

I stared at her, trying to process. Poison. I’d been poisoned.

“Rose.” Her voice was gentle and worried. “What happened? Do you remember?”

I closed my eyes, thinking back. The morning had been normal—the dwarves had left for the mines at dawn, I’d tidied up after breakfast, started on the mending...

“I was cleaning,” I said slowly. “Sweeping the floor. And then I heard a knock at the door.”

“Who was it?”

“An old woman. A peddler. She had a basket with her—combs, ribbons, little trinkets. She wanted to sell me something.” I looked up, meeting Rapunzel’s gaze. “I told her I wasn’t interested. I don’t have money for things like that. But she looked so ... sad. Disappointed. She said she’d been walking all day and hadn’t sold anything.”

“So you let her in?”

“No. She stayed at the door. But she asked if she could just demonstrate one of her combs. She said if I liked how it looked, maybe I could tell the village women about her wares. She seemed harmless. Just an old peddler trying to make a living.”

Rapunzel’s expression darkened. “Go on.”

“I said ... I said why not. It seemed like a small kindness. She pulled out this beautiful comb—carved bone with silver inlay. It was lovely. She asked if she could show me how it looked in my hair, and I...” I swallowed, shame burning in my chest. “I let her. She came close and ran the comb through my hair, just once, slowly. She was saying something about how beautiful my hair was, how the comb brought out the color. And then...”

“And then?”

“Nothing. That’s the last thing I remember. Her combing my hair. And then I woke up and you were here.”

Rapunzel stood abruptly, pacing to the window. Her hands were clenched at her sides.

“That poison,” she said quietly, turning back to face me. “I know it. My teacher taught me about it years ago.”

My heart began to beat faster. “Your teacher?”

“Mistress Gothel. She runs an apothecary in the capital—respectable on the surface, but she deals in ... other things. Poisons. Love potions. Dark magic, if the price is right.” She crossed her arms. “This poison is one of her specialties. It’s expensive. Difficult to make. Twenty gold pieces, at least. And it’s designed to be applied to something someone will touch—a comb, a piece of jewelry, a ribbon. The poison seeps through the skin.”

The capital. My mother’s city. The blood drained from my face.

“What did this woman look like?” Rapunzel asked, her voice sharp now. “Describe her. Everything you remember.”
