Chapter 17: The female gaze

Erotica Sex Story: Chapter 17: The female gaze - Hello, everybody! This is Dragonpig. I'm going to be writing a collection of stories within the anthropomorphic, or furry, genre. Some will be short stories, some will be novel-length, and others will fall somewhere in between. Yes, some of these stories will be quite explicit, while others won't be. I'm going to keep this series going until I either get bored or find that people just aren't interested in it. I'd really enjoy hearing your opinions and thoughts on my writing. Have a good one!

My parents said it was an honor to be chosen by Mistress Gothel.

She was fourteen when her parents apprenticed her to the village’s herbalist, healer, and keeper of old knowledge. They were proud, relieved even. A girl like her, with no dowry to speak of, needed a trade. Mother Gothel was respected, successful, unmarried by choice rather than circumstance. She could teach independence.

“She’ll learn a useful skill,” Father had said. “Better than marrying some farmer’s son and bearing children until her body gives out.”

Mother had nodded, though something in her eyes seemed uncertain. Still, they had made the agreement. Seven years of apprenticeship. Seven years of learning Mother Gothel’s craft.

The first year was everything she had hoped for. Gothel taught her which herbs healed fevers, which eased pain, which could end an unwanted pregnancy if brewed correctly. She taught her to read, not just recipes, but actual books. Philosophy. Poetry. Stories of women who had lived outside the usual paths.

“You’re clever,” Gothel told her often, her fingers trailing through Rapunzel’s hair as they worked. “Too clever to waste on some boy who’ll want nothing but your labor and your womb.”

Rapunzel believed her. Why wouldn’t she? Gothel was showing her a different future. Freedom.

And she liked the attention. The way Gothel looked at her sometimes, with such intensity. The way she touched her hair, her shoulders, like she was something precious. It made her feel special. Seen. Important in a way she had never felt before.

In the second year, the attention grew stronger.

“Your hair has gotten so long,” Gothel said one evening, running her hands through it, sectioning it, braiding it slowly. Her fingers lingered at Rapunzel’s neck, her shoulders, and warmth spread through her. “Like spun gold. You should never cut it.”

“It gets in the way when I’m working,” Rapunzel said, though she didn’t really want to cut it. She liked how Gothel admired it.

“Nonsense. It’s beautiful. You’re beautiful.” The way Gothel said it, looking at her with those dark eyes, made her breath catch. “You should appreciate that.”

She did appreciate it. She liked being called beautiful by someone she admired so much.

Then came the warnings about the village boys.

“I saw Thomas’s son watching you at the well,” Gothel said one morning, her voice tight. “You need to be careful. Men like that, they see a young girl and think only of one thing.”

“He was just being friendly—”

“Friendly.” Gothel laughed, but it was sharp. “Is that what you think? Rapunzel, you’re too naive. Too trusting. They want to use you, control you, trap you into a life of servitude. I’ve seen it a thousand times.”

Rapunzel nodded. It made sense. And honestly, Thomas’s son wasn’t that interesting anyway. Not compared to the life Mother Gothel was showing her.

Gothel started restricting her trips to the village.

“You don’t need to go to market anymore,” she said. “I’ll go. You stay here and study. There’s nothing in that village for you but distraction and danger.”

Rapunzel was disappointed. She had liked the market, the people. But Gothel was her teacher. She knew best.

“I’m only protecting you, darling,” Gothel said, her hand on Rapunzel’s cheek, thumb brushing her jaw. “You’re so precious to me. I can’t bear the thought of those crude boys looking at you, thinking their vile thoughts.”

The way Gothel touched her face made her feel warm and confused at the same time. The touch was so gentle, the eyes so focused on her. No one had ever looked at her like that before.

By the third year, she rarely left the cottage. Gothel said it was for her education. She had so much to learn, why waste time in the village? Rapunzel noticed Gothel had started locking the door when she went out, but when she asked about it, Gothel said, “For your safety. There are dangerous men about.”

That made sense. She was protecting her.

Gothel touched her more now. Adjusting her collar, smoothing her skirts, always finding reasons to be close. Rapunzel didn’t mind. It felt nice to be cared for like this, to be the center of someone’s attention.

One evening, Gothel insisted on helping her wash her hair. It had grown so long that washing it alone had become difficult. Rapunzel sat by the basin while Gothel worked the soap through the length of it, her fingers moving slowly, deliberately.

“Such beautiful hair,” Gothel murmured. “Like silk.”

Rapunzel closed her eyes, enjoying the sensation of the hands working through her hair, massaging her scalp. It felt good. Comforting.

When she opened her eyes, she caught Gothel’s reflection in the window glass, the way she was looking at her. Not at her hair, but at her face, her neck, her shoulders where her shift had slipped slightly. There was something in that expression she had seen before, in the village square. The way the baker’s son looked at the miller’s daughter. The way men looked at women they wanted.

Heat rose to her cheeks. Not from discomfort, but from something else. Something she didn’t understand.

Gothel noticed her looking. Her hands stilled for a moment, then continued, moving from her hair to her shoulders.

“You have a woman’s body now,” Gothel said softly. “You need to be careful. Men will want to take advantage of you. But here, with me, you’re safe.”

Her hands rested on Rapunzel’s shoulders, possessive and firm. Rapunzel felt her heart beating faster. She didn’t know why, but she enjoyed her teacher’s touch. She liked the attention. Liked feeling protected.

But something in the back of her mind whispered a question she couldn’t quite answer: Why does she look at me that way?

By the fourth year, Gothel announced they were moving.

“The village has become too dangerous,” she said one morning over breakfast. “Too many men sniffing around, too many people who don’t understand what we’re doing here. I’ve found us a place. Remote. Private. Where you can finish your studies without distractions.”

“Can’t I even say goodbye to my parents?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll do it for you,” Gothel said firmly. “They would only try to stop you from reaching your full potential. Trust me, Rapunzel. This is what’s best for you.”

Rapunzel trusted her. Gothel had given her so much: knowledge, attention, care. Why would she lie?

The tower stood in the forest, three hours from the nearest village. Stone walls, one room at the top, one small window. Gothel said they would live here together while Rapunzel completed her apprenticeship.
