Sofia and Daniela sat up at the exact same time, their eyes wide with sudden hope.
“A plan?” Sofia repeated, her voice full of excitement.
“You already have a plan?” Daniela demanded, practically vibrating. “We literally just woke up from a two-hour nap! How did you come up with a plan that fast?”
Kumar grinned. “You inspired me.”
“Us?” Sofia asked.
“I had three gorgeous women sleeping all over me. Three women who had just told me they wanted to share a future with me. Do you have any idea how lucky that makes me?”
Layla smiled smugly. “Very.”
“And apparently two of those women have been studying pornography on the internet because they want to make me happy.”
“Extensive research,” Layla corrected.
“Which is becoming increasingly worrying.”
Daniela laughed.
Kumar shook his head. “Look, I’m not stupid. I know how unlikely this whole thing is. But I also know I’d be the biggest idiot in the world if I didn’t at least try to figure out how to make it work.”
Sofia leaned against him. “You really want this as much as we do?”
“Sweetheart, I’ve spent the last two hours trying to figure out how to keep three women who are completely out of my league. What do you think?”
“Out of your league?” Layla scoffed. “Papi, you’re the prize.”
“See? That’s exactly the kind of thing that makes me want to keep you.”
Daniela laughed. “So what’s the plan, genius?”
“It’s not a finished plan,” Kumar warned. “It’s an idea. There are things we still have to figure out.”
“Then tell us the idea,” Sofia pleaded.
“Please tell us!” Daniela begged, winking at Kumar.
They scrambled onto their knees on the couch and started jumping up and down like children with a sugar high. The couch creaked wildly beneath them as their breasts bounced with every enthusiastic leap. Daniela’s full, heavy chest jiggled delightfully while Sofia’s even more voluptuous breasts moved in hypnotic waves through their tiny tops.
Kumar’s brain shut down completely. His mouth opened, closed, then opened again as he got lost in their hypnotic motion. Layla burst out laughing beside him. She leaned over, took his face in both hands, and turned him toward her before pulling him into a deep kiss. When she finally pulled back, she was still grinning.
“Poor bombón,” she teased. “One look at our tits and you forget how to speak.”
Kumar blinked slowly, still dazed. “Yeah ... that’s fair.”
That set all three girls off into another round of laughter. Sofia collapsed into his lap, laughing so hard she had to hold her stomach. Daniela flopped dramatically on top of her while Layla buried her face in his shoulder, wheezing.
“You broke him,” Layla accused between laughs.
Daniela looked far too pleased with herself. “I think we broke him hours ago.”
Kumar rubbed his face with both hands. “You women are going to be the death of me.”
“And you love it,” Sofia declared, still giggling as she sat back up.
Kumar’s eyes drifted straight back to her chest. Sofia noticed and grinned triumphantly. “He’s doing it again!”
“I physically cannot help it,” Kumar admitted. “You’re all ridiculously distracting.”
Layla cupped his cheek. “With the attention span of a squirrel, how did you manage to get a PhD, mi corazón?”
“Because you three weren’t there,” he muttered.
The girls dissolved into laughter again.
Eventually Daniela stretched lazily and announced, “Alright, we should probably get dressed before poor bombón has an aneurysm.”
“Spoilsport,” Layla shot back.
Daniela pointed at Kumar, who was still openly staring. “You say that now, but if he dies, who’s going to give us attention all day?”
Layla gasped dramatically. “You’re right. Don’t die, mi amor.”
“We want to know the plan, mi amor. Food can wait,” whined Sofia.
“Si! Stop torturing us this way. We can’t wait any longer,” Layla complained.
“Girls. You must be starving right now. When was the last time we ate?”
“Well ... bombón, you filled us up quite well this morning. I’m sure you have more where that came from, right?” Daniela winked suggestively as she rubbed his rapidly hardening shaft.
“Stop it ... please! This is a serious discussion.”
“Mmmm. I agree with Daniela. It can’t get more serious than this, papi. We don’t joke around with our meals. Now that we’ve gotten a taste ... we want more,” husked Layla as her hand joined Daniela.
“My body needs the nutrition, papi. You know ... for these,” said Sofia, cupping her heavy orbs.
He groaned as she bent her head down and mimed licking her nipple through her top. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth.
“No. No more distractions. We are all going to sit at the table until this discussion is over. What do you want to eat?”
“You’re no fun! Okay, fine. But only because we want to know the plan. Chicas. Anyone in for pizza? Does Luciano’s still make good pizzas?” Daniela pouted.
“Oohhhh ... yes! Let’s do pizza. Luciano’s es perfecto!”
What followed was ten minutes of pure chaos as the girls kept changing their minds about the order every two minutes.
“I want half pepperoni and half cheese for papi,” stated Sofia.
“Oooh ... you in for a meat lovers, Daniela?” Layla called out. “No ... make that a veggie lovers. I don’t want to eat too heavy. It could interfere with our activities after.”
“And garlic knots!”
“And that dipping sauce.”
“No, don’t order that sauce. It has way too many calories.”
“Like we need to worry about calories with papi here.”
“You’re a genius, bebe!”
Kumar watched with an amused smile as the girls frustrated the person on the other side by refusing to stick to one order. Finally, Daniela was given an ultimatum: place the order properly or hang up.
“Wow. You girls really took your time on that, didn’t you?”
“Good things take time, mi amor,” cooed Layla. “So tell us the damn plan.”
“Good things take time, mi amor,” retorted Kumar, winking at her.
Layla glared. “Hey! Not fair. Don’t you know that you can’t use a woman’s words against her?”
“Really ... and where’s that written down?” challenged Kumar.
“Que pije sos! Have you already forgotten about Miami Rules, papi?” cooed Daniela.
Kumar rolled his eyes.
When the pizzas finally arrived twenty minutes later, the girls descended on them like they hadn’t eaten in days. They thanked him with enthusiastic kisses between bites, feeding him pieces and giggling when sauce got on his chin, taking turns to lick it off him. For a while, the only sounds were happy chewing and light teasing.
“Alright,” Daniela said eventually, wiping her hands on a napkin. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation. “No more stalling. Tell us the plan.”
Sofia grabbed his arm eagerly. “You can’t just say you have a plan and then make us wait.”
Eventually Kumar managed to herd them over to the dining table. Sofia claimed the chair on his right, Layla settled on his left, and Daniela sat across from him.
“This is important,” he said, looking at each of them in turn. “Before I tell you the good parts, I need to ask you something.”
The girls nodded, suddenly more attentive.
“Are we really okay about what this relationship means? All four of us, together, with the romantic commitment between me and each of you?”
Layla stared at him.
“Again?”
“Layla...”
“No, papi. Seriously. Is this a relationship or a government office? How many times do we have to submit the same answer?”
Daniela burst out laughing. “In triplicate, apparently.”
“Should we sign something?” Sofia asked innocently.
“I can have it notarized,” Daniela offered.
Kumar tried to suppress a smile. “I’m being serious.”
“So am I!” Layla protested. “We’ve already told you. We’ve shown you. What else do you want?”
“I just don’t want any of you waking up one day and realizing you did something because you thought it was expected of you.”
Layla’s expression softened. “Oh. The perfect-girlfriend thing again.”
Sofia looked at her. “What perfect-girlfriend thing?”
“He talked to me about it earlier.”
“He didn’t tell me!”
“You were asleep!”
Kumar squeezed Sofia’s hand. “I told Layla that I don’t want her trying to become some imaginary perfect girlfriend. That applies to all of you. You don’t have to prove anything to me.”
Sofia considered that. “But how are we supposed to learn what you like?”
“You could ask me.”
“We do ask you.”
“Then why are you spending so much time researching the internet?”
“Because we want ideas,” Sofia replied, as though the answer were obvious.
Daniela began laughing again. “I can’t believe we’re having this conversation.”
Sofia brightened. “Actually, there was something we wanted to ask you about.”
Layla’s smile disappeared.
“Sofia...”
“What?”
“Maybe don’t.”
Daniela slowly put down her glass. “What have you two been watching?”
“There was this really disgusting Japanese video,” Sofia said. “We couldn’t understand why anyone would want to watch it. But people kept downloading it, so we thought maybe we were missing something.”
Layla groaned. “Sofia! I told you not to bring that up!”
Kumar’s face changed immediately. Daniela made a strangled noise and covered her mouth.
“Oh, Dios mío,” she groaned. “Please tell me you weren’t thinking of trying anything from that.”
Sofia looked bewildered. “No! We just want to know if papi wants to do it to us. Why would people make such videos if they don’t like doing things like that?”
“Because people are idiots!” Daniela exclaimed.
Layla folded her arms. “Well, how were we supposed to know? People were downloading it!”
“People watch car accidents too, loca. That doesn’t mean they want to be in one.”
Kumar buried his face in his hands.
Sofia looked between them. “So that isn’t something men normally like?”
“No,” Kumar and Daniela answered together.
There was a moment of silence.
“Oh,” Sofia said.
Layla looked thoughtful. “Well, that explains a lot.”
Daniela stared at her. “What exactly does that explain?”
Kumar started laughing. He couldn’t help it.
“Listen,” he said when he recovered. “There’s nothing wrong with being curious. And I’m certainly not complaining about everything you’ve learned.”
Layla’s grin returned immediately.
“But I don’t want you doing something you dislike because you think that’s what a good girlfriend is supposed to do. I want you to enjoy being with me. That’s all.”
Sofia smiled and kissed his cheek. “Okay, papi.”
“And please,” Kumar added, “if you find something particularly horrifying on the internet, ask Daniela before you ask me.”
“Why me?” Daniela protested.
“I appoint you to be my harem queen,” Kumar said wryly.
“Lucky me,” Daniela deadpanned.
All three girls dissolved into laughter. Then Daniela looked at him more carefully.
“There’s something else, isn’t there?”
Kumar hesitated.
“Emily,” she said.
His silence answered her.
Daniela reached for his hand. “Kumar, I’m not Emily. I know what I like. I know I’ve been with women. But I’ve never wanted to build a life with anyone the way I want to build one with you.”
“I know.”
“Then believe me. Stop judging me by what happened with her.”
He looked down.
“And stop treating Sofia and Layla like they don’t know their own minds just because they’re eighteen,” she continued.
“I’m scared they’ll regret committing so young.”
Layla leaned forward. “Papi, men have been chasing us for years. Rich men, handsome men, men with expensive cars. You think we’ve never had choices?”
Sofia shook her head. “We chose you because of who you are. Not because we didn’t know anyone else.”
“I don’t want you to feel trapped,” Kumar said.
“Then don’t trap us,” Layla replied. “Love us.”
He looked at her for a long moment.
Daniela squeezed his hand. “None of us can promise we’ll never have a difficult day or never change. But we’re here, and we’re choosing this. You have to let that mean something.”
Kumar finally nodded.
“Okay.”
Layla narrowed her eyes. “Okay what?”
“I believe you,” he whispered. “I see it. I feel it.”
“Good.”
“But...”
All three girls shouted at him. “No!”
Kumar laughed. “Fine. No more questions.”
“Applications approved,” Layla announced.
Sofia kissed him. “Now tell us about the plan to be together.”
He pulled all three of them closer, voice thick with emotion.
The relief in the room was immediate and palpable. The girls let out shaky breaths and clung to him tighter.
— “Okay,” Kumar said. “First the good news.”
Sofia straightened so quickly that she nearly knocked over her chair. Layla grabbed his hand, while Daniela leaned forward eagerly.
“I’ve been thinking about Charleston. About whether there’s a way for all of us to live there instead of spending the next few years apart.”
“WAIT!” Layla exclaimed. “Actually together? Not long-distance?”
“That’s what I’m hoping for.”
Sofia threw her arms around him. “Papi!”
“Careful!” Kumar laughed, catching her before she knocked him sideways.
Daniela smiled, but she was already thinking ahead. “How?”
“Well, Daniela’s situation is probably the easiest to work out.”
Layla groaned. “Of course it is. She gets everything.”
“Being twenty-one has its advantages,” Daniela replied smugly.
“Puta.”
“Love you too, chica.”
Kumar shook his head. “Daniela, what are your plans after you go back?”
“Well I’m not really sure. I just wanted to come and chill with Sofia and Tia Bella. Maybe catch up with some old friends, and travel around with Sofia and Layla if they wanted to. Maybe have a couple of affairs with some sexy mamacitas. You know ... typical hot girl stuff.”
“Humble. Aren’t you?”
“I’m the best at everything. Even humility.” Daniela stuck her tongue out at him, making him laugh.
“Do you want to work? Or stay at home or maybe start a business or something?”
