Talia noted in passing that traffic was a lot lighter this time of morning. Normally, it was almost 9 am by the time she hit the office, but her boss had sent an email Saturday night, strongly suggesting they meet before everyone else arrived. She had carefully stuffed her worries about work far down inside of herself, and given the rather pleasant way Peter had taken advantage of her willing charms most of Sunday, she was certain she had ceased his worries. Opening the door to the office, she saw the motion-triggered ceiling lights trigger on, and she knew that it was still plenty early. She stopped by her office, dropping her purse and checking for a fresh email before heading down the hall past Carl’s office, turning the corner past the conference room, and peeking at Andrea’s empty desk stationed next to Walter’s door. Steeling herself, she breathed deep to calm the whirling butterflies in her stomach. His door was open, and the lights were on inside his office, so she stepped forward and rapped lightly on his door.
“Walter?”
“Ah, yes, come in, Talia. Please, sit down.”
Talia stepped into her boss’s well-appointed office, looking around a bit before choosing the left of the two chairs placed at an angle in front of his desk. She sat and looked at Walter, waiting for him to say something. The silence dragged out just long enough that she was beginning to feel uncomfortable. She opened her mouth to say something, anything, to break the awkward silence when he finally spoke.
“Well, it seems we have a bit of an awkward situation here.”
“Yes. You could say that.”
“I’m not sure what you are planning on doing, or wanting to do, after what happened Saturday, but I wanted to talk to you as soon as possible and urge you to stay. You are my best editor and have been for years; I hope you know that. Anything that we can do to, well, make this less awkward, I want to discuss.”
“Um, I appreciate that. It’s just, you know, rather mortifying.”
“You aren’t being, you know, forced or blackmailed into something, are you? I saw you did not really seem to be with anyone in particular, though, I didn’t wait until you left to see who you were with or anything.”
“No. No. It’s not like that.”
“I see.” Walter sat there, neither of them apparently able to figure out how to get past this.
“So, are you going to stay? I mean, I understand you might want to get away or something...”
“I dunno, I love working here, I mean, it’s just perfect for me. I just don’t know how to, you know, continue while knowing you know what I did.”
“Well, from an HR point of view, we can’t really even discuss this, or, frankly, I think we both lose our jobs. Part of why I had you come in early. I’m just Walter right now. We’ve known each other for years, and you’ve been there when we were doing poorly, and you know I’ve always appreciated how you stepped up when Marie was failing, and I wasn’t around much.”
What he said was true, Talia thought, remembering their long years of association. They used to have the best company dinners at Walt and Marie’s; his wife had been such a wonderful cook. Working in such a small office, they had all gotten to know each other well, even Jerome, who had been there the shortest amount of time. It had been tough to watch Walter go through losing his wife of 30 years. There really isn’t anything you can say, so she was simply there as a quiet source of comfort when needed and took over much of the day-to-day management during the roughest 6 months.
“I understand. I, yeah, wasn’t sure what was going to happen. It’s all rather...” Talia trailed off, not sure what to say.
“Whatever I can do to make you willing and comfortable to stay, I will,” Walter said, looking at her kindly, patiently.
“I appreciate that. Maybe, for now. Just ignore it. It’s bad enough knowing that you know about what I, um, did. Talking about it, or, you know, knowing looks and stuff would just make it continue to be awkward.”
“Of course, of course. I can promise we will not bring it up outside of a special meeting like this - that we both agree to, of course. I was thinking about drafting something to give you some sort of security, so you know I can’t hold this over you or anything. Not that I ever would, I swear, Marie would roll over in her grave. Besides, as I said, it goes both ways; I don’t think I’d survive if they knew that I was there as well.”
“Oh, I didn’t think, I mean, I trust you, Walter. I guess, um, for now, can we just ignore it? I mean, I know you know, and you know I know you know, and let’s just pretend nothing’s changed.”
“Of course.”
Talia breathed a sigh of relief, not even realizing she had been so tense. After exchanging a couple of mundane work-related topics, Talia made her way back to her own office and sat down, calming herself slowly and concentrating on work, rather than the awkwardness of her current situation. It took a while, but she soon was wrapped up in her latest manuscript, the hours passing easily.
Just before five, she looked up and saw Walter tapping on her door.
“Hey, I was hoping to have a brief chat. I thought of something that might really help us around here. Up to you, of course, but I’ll be in my office until 6.”
Talia replied, “Can we maybe do it in the morning? I have a few errands to run tonight, and I don’t want to be too late getting home.”
“Of course. Whatever works. Same time?”
“Sure,” Talia replied, finishing up a final couple of notes and shutting her laptop down before heading out.
Talia didn’t have errands. She had rules she was following, but she couldn’t explain them to Walter, and she couldn’t just be home on time for Peter unless she warned him in advance. And she just didn’t want to get into explaining why she suddenly had extra meetings. Meeting in the morning would just be easier all around.
She had a text from Peter just as she was opening the front door, telling her he would be a few minutes late. Muttering slightly, thinking she might have been able to find out what Walter wanted right away, though, as she thought about it, risking the meeting running longer than she wanted might have been worse. Glad she had put the meeting off until morning, even if now she had an extra 20 minutes or so, she quickly divested herself of her work clothes, running a hand over her nude body quickly as she shook off the day. Knowing he was running late was actually a bit of a blessing, since the early morning meeting had made her rush her morning routine. Getting the shower ready, she quickly lubricated and inserted the plug he had given her for the week, before jumping in the shower and getting her legs and groin moistened and steamy warm from the shower. Letting her skin absorb the heat for a minute, she eventually placed one foot on the small ledge and quickly shaved her right leg, making sure she did not miss a spot. Repeating the task on her other leg, she turned her back to the water and pulled up on her pubic skin, running the razor over her delicate skin. She usually took care of her personal grooming each morning, but she had rushed through it a bit this morning, so she was glad she had these few extra minutes.
A few minutes later, she was looking at the door and her usual waiting spot, her toe idly drawing a circle in the carpet. She still had a few minutes, and rather than just getting into place, she went and grabbed her meditation headphones and blindfold. She could feel her inner conflict was much higher today. Most likely due to Walter spotting her at the adult store. She just wanted a bit more help getting into the proper frame of mind, even though she was fairly certain she wouldn’t object to Peter when he came through the door. It just might feel better. It might be easier after she has a little meditation help.
The soothing sounds of her meditation music were exactly what she needed, and Talia could feel the worries of the day falling away as she slid down into her trusting, submissive center. By the time she felt Peter’s thumb on her lips, and she opened her mouth for his thick cock, she was feeling ten times better. Kneeling by the door, blindly sucking her brother off, she could feel herself becoming one with her Niki, tasting his precum and pulling him deeper into her mouth when she sensed him getting close. Today must have been one of his tenser days as she felt him grasp onto her head and begin to fuck her face hard. She loosened her jaw and opened wide as he took his pleasure, her mouth quickly closing over the thick head of his prick as soon as he began to coat her tongue with his cum. She suckled on his oozing prick for a minute, cleaning him, before she felt him slide her blindfold off and lift up her headphones.
“Why these?” he asked, not sounding upset, just curious.
“Just thought it would help chase the world away faster, and I just had a cruddy day and wanted to feel the way your meditation track makes me feel - and not wait. Hope that was ok...”
“It’s perfect, I should have thought of it. Besides, I like you blindfolded and naked and waiting.”
Talia flushed, unable to deny that it had given her an additional bit of pleasure, not knowing exactly when he’d touch her. If she had not been so lost in the soothing sounds on the track, she might have sensed the air moving or something when he opened the door, but she’d missed it. At least this time.
“You can go potty by yourself today. I need to call Jack about the game. And don’t worry about Norman. I ran into him on the way in. He made it clear that what we do in our own house and yard is none of his concern. He even mentioned something about talking to the others and stuff. He’s run the HOA for the last three years.”
Talia paused at the back door, the thought of everyone knowing making her more than a little skittish. This is not what she had in mind when she agreed to all of this. Her Niki life and her Talia life were not supposed to collide.
Peter must have seen she was concerned as he came up and gently held her arm. “I promise, it’s all good. He sounded like he was simply making sure no one would lodge any complaints - not that anyone else can see very easily.”
Talia nodded, somewhat mollified, and went outside, finding a fresh watering spot. Unable to relax right away, it was a bit of time before she was able to finish, her bottom pressed back, and she waited while she dried.
Looking back on this now, I realize that it was silly not to explain what was happening at work to Peter. He probably wouldn’t have pushed things as hard on his end until I had things figured out at work. In any event, I didn’t tell him until later, so it was mostly my fault that things escalated in all areas of my life at once. I survived, obviously, but it was a bit overwhelming at times, as you will see (hopefully, assuming I can get this all down).
Talia felt an odd sense of déjà vu as she entered the office again before 8 am. The quiet, the semi-darkness, with only the motion-activated lights turning on. It was almost eerie. Once again, she dropped her purse off and went to Walter’s office, tapping and walking in as he waved her inside.
“Thanks for coming. Hope you had a nice evening.”
Talia nodded, smiling, her secret thoughts about how she had spent the night quite at odds with her outward persona. “Yes, all good. You said you had an idea? That might help?”
“Yes. The most important thing is to make it clear that you will not face any repercussions or consequences as a result of this situation. Yes, I know, mutual destruction and all that, but even with that, there’s risk to you. I wanted to find some way to counter that, so you can be totally sure that nothing ill will come your way.
“Hmm, I guess, what did you have in mind?”
“Yes, well, as I said, you are my best editor, and I don’t want you to leave. So, I modified a contract we used for special contractors and wrote it up for 3 years. Extendable at any time. And at 125% of your current salary.”
“What? I mean, this sounds a bit like ... a payoff?”
“No, sorry, Talia. You, well, you are a lousy negotiator; you could be making this already if you had pushed harder. The market has changed a bit since you started. I’m just making sure you are paid enough that you can’t be cherry-picked very easily. That’s all.”
“The extensions?”
“Yes, um, there’s this form. Basically, it extends the contract to three years from the date of the form. So, it’s like a rolling three years. You are covered. I promise.”
“Hmm, I think this is good. Can I, you know, look them over?”
“Sure, absolutely, I’d expect you to.”
“Great.”
Talia sat for a moment, glancing over the papers, and Walter just looked at her until she looked back up. “Was there something else?”
“I just, well, I was curious about some things. This is all optional, you don’t have to answer, but, well, we’ve been friends as well, I thought, and I just had a couple of questions.”
“Yeah, I can imagine.” Talia thought about it, idly tapping the contract papers in her hand. “What did you want to know?”
“Well, I guess, you said you weren’t being forced or blackmailed.”
Talia shook her head.
“Hmm, yeah, I was just curious. How did you get to what you are doing now? Unless, maybe you’ve always been doing this and just really hid it well?”
Talia could feel her mind racing. Not from fear so much as trying to decide how best to explain herself. Deep, deep down, where she was barely aware of it, was the part of her that wrote Mystique and fantasized about some sort of power exchange under the guise of work.
“I ... well,” she temporized, trying to think. She was at war with herself, feeling almost dared to overshare and either shock Walter, or change their dynamic forever.
“Talia. We can sign these contracts first if you want. I promise there will be no repercussions. Just the fact you saw me is enough to ensure that, but I wanted you to have the contract as well - both to make it crystal clear there is no direct power dynamic here (e.g., I won’t fire you if you say no) as well as make up for frankly underpaying you. Corporate will only know that you had been hearing feelers from other houses, and I preemptively locked you down.
“I know, um, it’s not that, I honestly do trust you. Surprisingly, considering what you saw.”
Walter blushed and was silent for a minute. “Since I’m asking you to be honest, you should know, I was going to, you know, go into a booth too. Even went in back and saw a few gathered around your door. I looked in and saw, you know, you were busy. That’s when I decided to wait. Though I have to admit I was tempted. Really, really tempted. It’s been. A while.”
Talia flushed, realizing that he had indeed seen her more than just naked, which was bad enough. She felt a wave of awkwardness attack her, and she crawled into herself a little bit. It was so much worse than she thought. ‘And better’ that secret, naughty, scared as fuck side said in response.
“I still want to look them over, but, um, I appreciate the contract. And the raise. I didn’t know how much to ask for. But, I guess, well,” she paused again, feeling as if she was on the precipice of something momentous.
“It’s been rather recent, though, I guess you could say I’ve been thinking about it for a long time. I just never, you know, dared act on it. I just, mmm, wrote about it.” Talia left that hanging out there, daring him to ask, daring herself to share her story, or stories with him. She knew that if it went wrong, he might never really look at her the same way again. Or he just might. She was so conflicted.
“Ah, I think that’s a rather common, erm, outlet. Something changed, though, to move you from writing to, well, doing?”
“Yeah, was someone online, you know, dares and stuff. It didn’t happen all at once or anything, but, um, once I got going, and, well, talking about it with them, like, in detail how I felt before, during, after, etc. I sorta got braver. And, part of it, was getting to where there’s no shame.”
“So you aren’t embarrassed?”
“Oh, yes, still embarrassed, I mean, god, yes, but not shame. I’m not bad. I’m not, I dunno, something that is disgusting or anything. But, still embarrassing, but in a way that I guess I like.”
“I sorta envy you. That seems, well, empowering in a way, even though you can talk about this so calmly. Shows a lot of inner strength. Fortitude.”
“Not sure about calm, I am a bundle of nerves right now.”
“I bet. I guess the other question was, are you upset? You know, that Carl told me about this shameless booth girl he’d seen?”
“Upset? Maybe, I dunno. I was, I am worried, I know. I kept my private activities separate from work. So I guess I am upset that I was found out. But, no, not like directly upset with you. Or Carl. I had not been sure I’d seen him the time before.”
“Well, I hope, ya know, with the contract and stuff, at least you can not be worried that there’s any impact on your work. I really don’t want to do without you.”
“I appreciate that. I promise I’ll look it over and get back to you.”
“Fair enough.”
