Visiting Denmark

t was dark, cold and windy on a Thursday evening as the taxi pulled up outside the Radisson BLU near Tivoli in Copenhagen. A short flight from Manchester. We were travelling light as I’d promised to buy Linda some new clothes – or at least to give her money to shop whilst I was in meetings the following day. We’d eaten on the plane so ordered just a snack from room service and had an early night. By four on the Friday afternoon I was back at the hotel and suggested a walk through Nyhavn taking in a beer or two en route. Back to the hotel nicely relaxed, showered and changed Linda was still busy preening so said she’d meet me in the bar.

Half an hour later she perched on the stool next to me looking stunning, more heavily made up than usual, bright red lipstick, long flowing curly auburn hair complemented by her green eyes. She was wearing a new coat, buttoned up black shiny PVC with a red belt but showing a good V of flesh and matching boots black boots with a red zipper down the inside. I was about to order her a drink when the barman placed a glass of Champagne in front of Linda, “With the compliments of the gentleman” pointing at a chap sat opposite us at the round bar. We were about to leave but Linda said she should thank the gent for her drink as the barman returned with a piece of paper in his hand, “message from the gentleman” again pointing.
