Chapter 31

Erotica Sex Story: Chapter 31 - Edward Sheffield took a promotion no one else wanted. Transplanted indefinitely from New England to the Philippines, he's got a struggling branch office to salvage and a whole new world to navigate. He didn't expect the help to come in the form of a bratty maid, a mechanic whose smarts are matched only by her curves, and a smoky driver with trust issues. But Manila has a way of surprising people. Especially those who think they're beyond surprises.

Tuesday started with a bang. Specifically on my door. From Mendoza’s assistant. The poor man explained they needed me to calm down an irate Luzon Chemical representative. Apparently, the man had gone to visit the site again first thing in the morning and got bitched out by Johanson.

Now he was throwing around all sorts of threats and Mendoza’s appeasement was going nowhere fast. I got dressed lightning fast, texted Tala to let her know what was up, and bid the poor befuddled assistant to both lead me to where the disaster was about to occur and explain what exactly had happened.

Scratch that, by the time we arrived the disaster was already occurring. I jumped out of the car, the assistant on my heels. The drive hadn’t been long as it was just a hop to the lobby of another nearby hotel, but the situation had clearly deteriorated since the assistant had last been in the loop.

“Gentlemen!” I said, interjecting myself between the profusely sweaty Mendoza and the raging Luzon Chemical representative. “I see we’re having some sort of disagreement.” Turning to the representative and effectively shielding Mendoza from his wrath, I offered a hand I was a hundred percent sure was going to go unshaken. “Edward Sheffield, Head of Operations, Texas Instruments Philippines.”

“And I,” the man said, “do not care.” He batted my hand away. “This level of disrespect is astounding. I have nothing more to say to you and yours.”

My smile strained a bit, but I managed to keep it under control. “I assure you, whatever disrespect you have been shown has not been done in representation of the company.”

“Then perhaps you need to hire better employees,” he scoffed. “Now, get out of my way. We are pulling out of this farcical competition.”

That was enough to get a rise out of me, as my eyes almost jumped out of my face. I quickly recovered, however. “I see. That is entirely within your rights.” I turned to Mendoza. “Make amendments to today’s opening announcement pertaining to this.”

The fat man took a step back, nodded quickly and fled the scene, his assistant following after him. I turned back to the representative, who was somewhere between shocked and pleased.

“I thought you would continue to whine,” he said. “At least one of you has some class. Goodbye, then.”

“Ah,” I said, holding him up. “One last thing.” I checked to ensure that Mendoza and his lackey were long gone. “I understand your outrage. This is highly irregular after all. Years of good relations jeopardized over nothing. Then that idiot Johanson puts his foot in his mouth and accuses you of cheating us.” This was why we didn’t leave that asshole alone with anyone important. Goddamn engineers. “I happen to think it was you who were cheated.”

He narrowed his eyes. It seemed like he thought about blowing me off but didn’t. “What do you mean?”

“I think we should have a conversation, just the two of us,” I said, smiling as I led him toward the hotel restaurant. “We’ll be able to fix this if you’ll work with me, I assure you.”

It was a fruitful morning, after all. Once the disaster was successfully averted, I reunited with Mendoza and had lunch with him, assuring him that everything would be fine, and that Luzon Chemical was back onboard. The man was relieved, and I told him to stay mum about the whole affair and pretend nothing had happened.

After that, I got to work with the media circus. With a somewhat frazzled Tala at my side, we gave another canned speech commencing the event. There were suspiciously many journalists today. While TI was important in the Philippines, no one really cared about the specifics bar a few specialist outlets.

And on top of that, after I walked off the stage having given my lukewarm speech, Tala told me some of the journos were pissed that they’d been lied to. Apparently, someone had leaked a rumor about a contestant dropping out.

How curious.

Tala and I headed to the facility afterwards. To inspect, walk around, greet the other contestants’ representatives, the works. Johanson was nowhere to be seen, though that wasn’t so unusual. The man loved to ‘delegate.’ It was better that he wasn’t there anyway.

Eventually, I took the stage once more for a photoshoot. It was a fluff piece sponsored by the company, so I wasn’t too worried about hardballs. Tala took the opportunity to sneak off and do her thing.

The interview was tedious, but otherwise pleasant. It was more of an explanation of how we’d be performing our tests, and how we’d color-coded the boards to ensure fairness and such. After, I left the grounds on my own. Tala was long gone, after all, having taken several boards in various stages of production that she’d filched to Paz for examination.

It was dinnertime by then, and I met up with Paz and Tala at our hotel’s restaurant. Finally, the day was over.

“So,” Paz started, poking at her vegetables. “Fatso’s out?”

“Probably,” I said, taking a sip of water. “I never thought he was involved, but this is hardly proof either way.”

“Asshole two got a lot more suspicious, though,” Tala said, taking a bite out of her filet mignon. “Maybe he’s working with asshole one.”

“Another maybe,” I said. “Again, we don’t have proof either way. What we do know is that something’s fishy. That’s it.”

“And how are you hoping to catch them, then?” Paz asked.

“You have to wait for the fish to bite before you reel it in,” I said. “Plus, there are other ways in which we’re mounting evidence. More legitimate ways that actually hold up in a court of law. All this I’m doing is more of a ... counterpunch. In case it’s needed.”

“I don’t really get it,” Tala said. “But I guess I’ll trust you.”

“Do,” I assured her. “I don’t disappoint.”

“It’s true,” Paz said with a wink. “He doesn’t.”

Tala glanced at the mestiza suspiciously. I rolled my eyes.

We went to bed not long after that. This time, I had no naked vixen waiting for me in bed, so I just showered and got into bed. Tomorrow would be another long day, after all. Before I could get too comfortable, though, my phone started to buzz.

Luz. I opened FaceTime. “Hey, ho—oh. Damn.”

She and Mayu were on screen, wearing matching lingerie. It was a sheer nylon bodysuit with opaque floral designs that covered their sensitive parts. Luz’s was colored in reds and golds while Mayu’s in blues and silvers.
