Chapter 13

A few days later, Kate worked her last shift and had thirteen days off before having to return. She spent the first day sleeping and just resting at home. She called me the next day and asked if I wanted to hang out on Saturday, which was tomorrow. I told her I could get Ryleigh to cover the gym, and we could do whatever she wanted.

The following morning, Kate sent me a text and told me she was on the way over to my house. About five minutes later, my doorbell rang. I got up and went to the front door and opened it. Kate walked in, and I closed the door behind her. She was wearing a pair of tight-fitting shorts and a form-fitting tank top with pink sneakers. She looked adorable, and her gym time showed big time. Kate’s ass was spectacular, and her thighs were incredible. She had shrunk her waist by several inches and had a nice set of breasts that were full.

I gave her a quick tour of the house, which seemed to really surprise her that I lived here alone. She loved the theatre room and the huge master bedroom and bathroom. And fell in love with the pool and outdoor kitchen. We made our way back to the main living area and sat on the sofa across from each other.

“You’re full of surprises, Jace Johnson. I have never seen a man keep a house this clean.” she offered.

“Well, I’m alone, so I don’t use much of it.” I offered.

“By the way, those two in the emergency room still love you. Especially the little one.” Kate replied, smiling.

“Jennifer, I believe that. But Shelby... I don’t buy it. You don’t do what she did to me if you love them.” I replied.

“Maybe she did it for her daughter”, Kate offered.

“Maybe, but it doesn’t matter now. I will always help Jennifer anyway I can, but that’s the extent of it. I just hope he doesn’t hurt Shelby one day.” I explained.

“In addition, every nurse on my staff wanted to do you the other day.” Kate giggled.

“Ooh, I kind of like the redhead.” I laughed.

“Oh, that’s Megan. She is the wildest of the bunch. I’ll tell her you said that.” Kate laughed.

We decided to go out to get something to eat, so we drove to the security gate in the front. The guard was surprised to see us together.

“Oh, Dr. McKinney, good to see you. Jace, how are you?” he stated.

“Everything’s good, Kevin. Thanks.” I replied as we drove through.

We had a nice meal and then drove to the coffee shop so Kate could get her caffeine fix. Kate claimed without coffee she couldn’t survive the twelve-hour shifts that she worked. We drove back to my house, and Kate suggested that we watch a movie in the theatre room. We went in, and Kate scrolled through the channels until she found a movie she wanted to see.

This was the first time that the two of us were sitting side by side this close. Kate had a fragrance that smelled like baby powder. It was very pleasing and not overpowering. She started the movie and leaned slightly over in my direction, perhaps trying to give me a signal.

We watched the entire movie, which was good, and she started to look for a second one to watch. It was close to five o’clock in the evening, but I had taken the entire day off, so it did not matter. We agreed on the second movie, and she went to the bathroom before starting it. She returned to her seat and turned to me.

“Can I ask you a question?” Kate stated.

“Sure...” I answered.

“Why haven’t you tried to get into my panties yet?” she asked, looking directly at me.

“Uh, well, I didn’t know you wanted me in your panties.” I replied.

“Most guys would have tried a long time ago.” she giggled.

“Maybe, but you also told me when we first met, you’re not looking for a quick fuck.” I explained.

“Damn, a man that listens. Now that is a rare find. You have potential, Mr. Johnson.” Kate exclaimed.

“I’m glad to hear I have potential.” I laughed.

“So, back to my panties...” Kate giggled.

“What color do you have on?” I asked.

“You have to take my shorts off to find out.” she said softly.

“Would you like me to take your shorts off?” I asked.

“I thought you would never ask.” Kate giggled, standing up and reaching for my hand.

She led me down the hall and into the master bedroom, where she pulled the comforter and sheet back on the bed. She slipped off her sneakers and laid back on the bed. I did the same and climbed in after her. I leaned over and took her in my arms, kissing her gently at first. She responded almost immediately.

Kate’s kiss was hungry and full of promise. She slightly opened her lips and touched mine with the tip of her tongue. I parted my lips as well, my tongue meeting hers for the first time. Kate was gently running her hand up and down my spine, giving me goosebumps. Kate’s hands were so soft and gentle; her touch alone was enough to get my heart racing.
