Volume 6 Part A is written from the point of view of Cynthia who is pregnant by the Prince and has become Abril’s lover. Cynthia has traveled to the Amazon at the Patron’s request. She expect to warm his bed and thereby earn the right to marry the Prince, making her child legitimate. The Patron’s plan for her is a little broader as he plans to make her a public example of a different way to look at marriage. The text starts just before her phone call with the Prince in LA, on the evening of Friday September 19, 2008, after she and others arrived in the Colony. That call was in Chapter 30 of Volume 5.
Cynthia (who earned the nickname Sin-Sin) is the older daughter of Belen and Ernie. During her tween years Cynthia developed a dream-fantasy of being married to the Prince. In high school this dream insulated her from the usual high school games. She and her sister Pammie lived in the Pablo and she was a close friend of Abril. In May 2008, Cynthia and Abril arranged for him to find Cynthia in his bed. She soon became pregnant and moved into the mansion. After Abril had her family fortune stolen by her girlfriend, Abril and Cynthia fell in love.
This was around the time that the Prince rescued and impregnated Gracie.
At the end of the summer Cynthia’s presence in the Colony was requested by the Patron, a widower. When Cynthia arrived she expected to sleep in the Patron’s bed most nights, according to the royal family sharing tradition. She was okay with that, she figured it was a natural step between getting knocked up by the Prince and getting the Patron to designate her as the Prince’s Colonial wife.
The Prince did not chose his Colonial wife, the Patron did. Her acquiescence was to please the Patron so he would anoint her as the Prince’s Colonial Bride before the arrival of her baby. She also hoped to become Abril’s Domestic Partner under California law when it was reasonable. Since California and the Colony in Peru do not recognize each other this arrangement would be entirely legal. To Cynthia this path presented the best of all worlds. Abril and the Prince seemed to agreed with Cynthia’s plan. During the past summer the Prince was joined to Abril as a spouse in the eyes of the law firm, so they would promote him to partner and fuck Abril in their monthly wife-exchange, but they really did not have all the facts regarding that ceremony. In any event, the law firm would likely become irrelevant early next year.
