Finn and MacKenzie took a long shower together, mostly cuddling and caressing rather than washing. He wasn’t sure he could manage another round and he sensed that she wasn’t interested. Once again, he wished he could just stay the night and fall asleep with her in his arms. Just a few months. Just a few months more until they were in college. He’d have to work things out with his future dorm roommate but he was sure it could happen. Worst case, they could get a hotel room from time to time.
So after their shower, instead of falling into bed and cuddling, he got dressed and headed home. During the walk and as he got ready to sleep in his own bed, he kept thinking about the evening. Specifically, his mind kept drifting back to Jenny’s request to have Mac peg him.
His butt clenched at the thought. The few times MacKenzie has caressed his ass close to his anus, it had felt really weird and uncomfortable. She’d picked up on that and stopped, which had been the end of it.
She’d been more receptive when he played with her ass, but they’d never gone as far as anal sex. He’d slid a finger inside her butt once, but she’d squirmed uncomfortably. He’d never tried it again.
But her mom wanted to watch MacKenzie screw him?
His butt clenched.
But ... maybe he could offer a trade? Where he’d agree to do it if Jenny did something he wanted?
His mind raced with ideas for what she could do. There was a lot, actually.
But was he willing to get his ass fucked in exchange?
And would she even agree to a trade?
He had no idea about that.
But he still felt like banging his head against the wall. They were so close to the threesome he wanted. They just needed to get from watching to participating. Far easier said than done.
He noodled about that as he lay in his own bed, but couldn’t come up with anything that he was confident would work. Eventually, he gave up and went to sleep.
Finn leaned forward in his lifeguard’s chair. He intently watched the kids horsing around in the shallow end and even brought his whistle to his lips. But he didn’t have to use it. One of the moms was already castigating the kids for being too rough. They whined, but stopped trying to shove each other’s heads underwater. After a moment, he leaned back and relaxed.
He’d spent a lot of the morning continuing his musings from the night before, but that had just ended up being little more than running in mental circles. He wanted Jenny to do more with them. He didn’t want to get his butt fucked. He didn’t see what else he and MacKenzie could do.
He scanned the pool slowly. At least he could make sure no one drowned while he figured it out.
“Hey.”
Finn turned and looked down at the base of the chair, where Eli stood. Finn’s eyebrows rose.
“Hey,” he said.
“Been a while.”
“Yeah.”
“I saw MacKenzie working concessions,” Eli said.
“Yeah.”
“Must be cool. Working with your girlfriend.”
Finn smiled. “Yeah. Say ... why don’t we chat during my lunch break?” He gestured at the pool. “I really need to work right now.”
“Oh. Yeah, of course. See you at your break.” Then Eli walked off.
Finn watched him go. They hadn’t talked in weeks. Not since Eli had told Megan to stay away from him and MacKenzie. Finn had felt mulish every time he’d thought of Eli and Eli just hadn’t called.
He wondered what Eli wanted. He checked his watch. He had an hour before his break when he could find out.
When his break started, Finn grabbed his lunch, swung by the concessions stand to give his girlfriend a quick kiss, and then went in search of Eli. He found him in one of the lounge chairs on the grass behind the diving boards. Eli was playing on his phone but put it down when he saw Finn approaching.
“So what’s up?” Finn asked. The lounge chair next to Eli’s was empty so he sat on the edge.
Eli shrugged. “Hadn’t seen you in a while. Thought you might like to shoot some hoops sometime.”
“Yeah. That’d be cool.”
“Cool.”
They fell into an uncomfortable silence.
“How’s work at the pizza place?” Finn asked.
Eli shrugged. “Tips are good, but I’m sick of pizza.”
Finn laughed. “Really?”
“Dinner every night.”
“Ugh.”
“Yeah. The cooks are getting real creative for our dinner pizza.”
“I’ll bet.”
“I’m actually starting to like anchovies.” Eli smirked enough that Finn was sure he was joking.
“Could be worse,” Finn said.
Eli shrugged. “Could be better. You get to work with your girlfriend.”
“Yeah, well, we don’t really work together.”
“Close enough.”
“Maybe.”
Eli snorted.
Finn frowned. Something was definitely wrong. First, Eli hadn’t made any effort to call him in a couple of weeks. Then this weird conversation.
“So...,’ he ventured, “how’s Megan?”
“Don’t know.”
“What do you mean?”
“We broke up.”
Finn’s chin dropped. “You did?”
“Yeah ... she cheated on me.”
“What!?”
“Yeah. With someone she met at that camp she’s at.” Eli shrugged. “I’m over it.”
Finn gave Eli a long look. From his expression to his tense shoulders, he was not over it.
“So, uh, basketball? Eli said. “Tomorrow?”
“Gotta work tomorrow. How about the day after that?”
“Yeah. That’ll work. I’m off work.”
“Cool.”
“Then...,” Eli said a little too casually “maybe you, me, and Mac can soak in the hot tub.”
Finn forced a smile. “We’ll see.”
That night was one of the nights Finn and MacKenzie had promised to cook dinner for Jenny and themselves. They weren’t preparing anything extravagant—chicken piccata with some green beans and a salad—but it did take some work.
As he made the salad, he kept thinking about the conversation with Eli. He wasn’t sure what to tell MacKenzie. In the end, he decided to just tell her everything without any spin. Cooking wasn’t a good time, so he waited until all three of them had sat down to eat. Jenny might have some perspective as well.
“So,” he said as Jenny poured them some wine, “I ran into Eli today at the pool.”
“How’s he doing?” MacKenzie asked.
