Chapter 10: First Year

Historical Sex Story: Chapter 10: First Year - A story of two sisters who both became consorts to the same Joseon prince, both elevated beyond their station, both genuinely loved by a man who chose them for who they were. One brilliant and brief. One quiet and enduring. Both essential to the tapestry of a family built from loss.

Late Summer 1483 - The Ceremony

The ceremony was smaller than a noble wedding would have been, but still formal and beautiful.

Jiwon wore robes of silk in deep blue and silver, her hair arranged in the elaborate style of a consort. Court ladies she’d served alongside for years helped dress her, some with genuine warmth, others with barely concealed envy.

“You’re very fortunate,” one said, not kindly.

“I’m very blessed,” Jiwon corrected, and left it at that.

The ceremony itself was a blur of ritual phrases, symbolic gestures, formal bows. She knelt before the King and Queen, accepting their acknowledgment of her new status. She received gifts from the princesses—jewelry, silk, items of beauty and value that marked her elevation.

And then Hyeon took her hand—publicly, officially—and led her to the quarters that would now be theirs together.

“How do you feel?” he asked once they were finally alone.

“Terrified,” she admitted. “Overwhelmed. Happy. All of it at once.”

He smiled. “Good. That seems appropriate.”

She looked around the quarters—larger than what she’d known as a servant, beautifully appointed with screens and cushions and writing materials. Their home.

“This is real,” she whispered. “I’m actually your consort.”

“You are.” He stepped closer, his hands coming to rest on her waist. “Which means I can finally do this properly.”

He kissed her—not the stolen kisses of the past few years, but a real kiss, deep and claiming and unhurried. She melted into him, all the years of waiting, all the restraint, finally able to be released.

When they broke apart, both breathing hard, he rested his forehead against hers.

“I love you,” he said. “In case I haven’t said it enough.”

“You’ve said it plenty. But I don’t mind hearing it again.”

“I love you. I choose you. And I’m going to spend the rest of my life proving that this was the right choice.”

“It was the right choice,” she said firmly. “For both of us.”

That night, finally, after years of waiting and wanting, they came together as husband and wife.

It was awkward and tender and imperfect—they were both young, both inexperienced despite all their physical teasing. But it was also beautiful, because it was theirs. Earned through patience, built on genuine love, celebrated with joy rather than duty.

Afterward, lying in his arms, Jiwon felt a contentment she’d never known before.

“I’m yours now,” she murmured. “Completely.”

“You always were,” he replied. “But now the world knows it too.”

Fall 1483 - Autumn 1484: Their First Year

The first year of marriage was an adjustment, but a joyful one.

Jiwon navigated her new status carefully. She was no longer a servant, but she was also keenly aware that she had been elevated from humble origins. She treated the court ladies with respect, never pulling rank unnecessarily. She continued to help the princesses with their correspondence when asked, maintaining those relationships that had protected her.

And she learned what it meant to be not just Hyeon’s beloved, but his partner.

He consulted her on matters of household management. He asked her opinion on texts he was studying. He included her in conversations with his tutors, valuing her insights.

“You’re the smartest person I know,” he told her once. “Why wouldn’t I want your perspective?”

“I’m not educated like you are, Your Highness—” She stopped, correcting herself. “Hyeon.”

“You’re educated differently. You see angles I miss. You understand people in ways I don’t.” He smiled. “We complement each other. That’s what makes us work.”

Their physical relationship deepened as well—the initial awkwardness giving way to comfort and pleasure. Hyeon was attentive and loving, and Jiwon discovered that she enjoyed the intimacy more than she’d expected.

The teasing that had characterized their courtship continued, but now with different stakes.

“You’re insatiable,” she told him one morning after he’d pulled her back to bed when she was trying to rise.

“Can you blame me? I waited years for you.”
