I simply smiled and shook my head, indicating to her that I didn’t mind.
I then started walking to where we were going and waved my hands at her without looking back, to suggest she keep on walking.

I didn’t mind it, and simply asked with a playful smile
“Did my classmates say anything good about me? ... Or did they at least say anything, that didn’t compare me to a dead man walking?”
