Chapter 11: Fire Dance
Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 11: Fire Dance - When the Korean officer De-Yong is on the verge of dying in a duel against a samurai, a kumiho saves his life. She offers him a pact—one that can only be sealed through a union—and it heals his wounds. Too late, both of them realize the consequences of this bond, which also draws other powers onto the battlefield. In the process, the moral boundaries between humans and demons begin to blur.

A storm was raging outside, lightning flashed and rain pelted the roof. But no one in the hall paid any attention. Everyone stared spellbound at the entertainer, who knew how to sing and dance so skillfully. Although only in Korean, which hardly anyone present understood, the words themselves were not important. The symbolism of the movements, the accents and the melodies could be linked to stories by everyone present.
During a break, Taka had managed to casually offer his services to the general, and his offer had been accepted with favor. Now he too was completely focused on this fascinating girl.
The men sat on the sidelines, their heads red as they watched the dancer’s lascivious movements. They barely noticed as they emptied their sake bowls and constantly refilled them.
Yun saved her best performance until the end. She called it the fire dance herself. As a demon of fire, she understood like no one else how flames moved, how they hungrily snatched at their food, lived and wanted to spread, always limited by the prison of possibilities.
Accompanied by rapid drum beats, she danced around in a whirl, stretched herself up, leaned to the side, went down on her knees. Her arms repeatedly stretched in one direction or the other.
She loved this dance more than anything, but had the problem that she couldn’t lose herself in it. If she overdid it even a little, real flames would come out of her fingertips. But she had to hold that back. She focused her energies, gathered them together.
Now it had become dangerous, like lightning before the discharge.
With the last drumbeat, she sank to the ground and bowed.
Rolling thunder outside made the building tremble.
General Sakuraba nodded, impressed.
“Dame Ahri, you really are an impressive dancer! The end of the evening could hardly have been better. Thank you so much!”
All those present agreed.
Yun bowed deeply, then stood up and left. She would wait for him in the general’s bedchamber.
The event slowly dissolved, the host withdrew and then his guests too.
The last two to leave the hall were Taka and Kazuki, who had sat as far apart as possible during the performance.
Now that they were alone and ready to leave the hall, the drunken Kazuki could no longer control himself from jabbing Taka.
“Well, Miyahara, despite your theft, I’m now sleeping here in the general’s house, and you have to get home through the storm!” he remarked with a grin.
Taka, almost at the door, stood rooted to the spot. The three musicians had just emerged from behind the paper partition where they had spent the evening. Taka barely noticed them. Slowly, he turned to Kazuki.
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about, Ichimaru. What am I supposed to have stolen? I’m not a thief!”
His hand gripped the scabbard menacingly and his knuckles turned white.
Kazuki refused to be intimidated.
“My demon herb! You had it stolen from my palanquin!”
“Don’t talk nonsense. When was I supposed to do that?”
“Last night!”
“I wasn’t even in the shelter!” growled Taka. “Your own people probably stole it.”
“Certainly not. None of them would take the risk of entering my palanquin without my permission or request.”
Taka tried to think clearly through the veil of alcohol.
So the priest’s parcel had been stolen. From whom and why?
In fact, Taka would have benefited the most from it.
“On my honor as a samurai: I had nothing to do with the theft!”
Something was nagging at the back of his mind, but he couldn’t grasp it, dazed as he was.
Kazuki didn’t accept that.
“You must not have done it yourself. At least you were clever: exchanging the parcel for an identical one with worthless contents could have embarrassed me!”
Taka was about to answer when he realized what was bothering him. The drummer! He had seen him somewhere before. Somewhat distracted by these thoughts, he finally answered:
“Well, maybe the merchant has ripped you off. Did you see how the herb was packaged?”
Kazuki began to flare up.
“Of course! How stupid do you think I am? I was there the whole time, held the herb in my own hands and then bought it. And...”
Suddenly he turned pale.
Taka’s ears perked up.
“And then what?” he asked mockingly.
Kazuki let out an expression of strength. Then, to Taka’s surprise, he bowed.
“Miyahara San, I apologize for wrongly accusing you of a crime.”
Taka had expected all sorts of things, but not that the priest would apologize. Nevertheless, he would have been allowed to cut off his head, and not even the general could have objected.
But the satisfaction that the priest had suffered an obvious, heavy loss made him lenient.
“Kazuki, I warn you to be more careful with such accusations in the future. Otherwise I will demand your head from the general!”
The person addressed flinched and bowed even lower.
Grunting with satisfaction, Taka turned around and was about to go out when his gaze fell into the corridor, where he saw the drummer turning into the residential wing of the house. Did the musician live in the palace? Hardly.
Where had he seen this man before? Taka decided to go after him.
As Yun scurried towards the general’s bedroom, she came across Teiko, who was heading in the same direction.
“Oh, Dame Akera, still working this late?”
Teiko smiled knowingly.
“Just like you, Dame Ahri. It seems we have the same goal.”
“Is that so?” she asked, with a somewhat ambiguous undertone.
Confused, Teiko stared at the entertainer.
“But of course. I’ll make sure the general has pleasant dreams my way, you do it your way!”
Yun nodded her head slightly, hiding the mocking twinkle in her eyes.
“But it’s quite late for your task. The general will follow at any moment. He might be angry if he finds you in his chambers now, where he is expecting me alone.”
