“This is a bad idea...,” Bekra quietly remarked, making a few disturbed clicks in her voice.
“Shhh, don’t worry about it,” Zalika replied, waving her hand at her. “It’ll work, promise...”
It was the following night. Four people walked down the passageway of the centripetal ring of the Lifen. Zalika, Bekra, Dean, Girsha’lar, and Czarek were moving through the hulls with a hint of stealth in their movement. All seemed quiet. It was already late, and the hint of darker lighting could be seen throughout the interior ring as the night shift was in effect. Only the Itrean woman seemed to be protesting the actions taking place, giving Zalika an annoyed look.
“We shouldn’t have brought her along,” Czarek added in a low voice. “She’s going to snitch on us...”
Bekra sneered at Czarek, showing the hint of her razor-sharp teeth. Czarek wasn’t intimidated in the least.
“I have not ‘snitched,’” Bekra countered. “I ask that we slow down ... these ... pranks happen too soon...”
“But, not when I’m around,” Czarek countered. “You know how much shit I get away with on the Rampage? All ... the ... time.”
“Whoa...,” Dean said in his stupor. “That’s like ... a lot, Czar-bro.”
“Dude ... dude, everyone, quiet down a little bit. Augmented ears may still hear us.”
“Bekra, you hear anything?” Zalika asked Bekra.
Bekra gave an angry look at Zalika. “There’s no one else in this hallway but us...”
“See?” Zalika told Czarek. “This is the perfect time, as last time. Everyone is in bed. Stone doesn’t even go to sleep until much later, and everyone switched over to night watch rotation. If we’re going to do this again, now is the time...”
“You don’t have to convince me,” Czarek said.
“ ... It was wrong for us to do what we did to him,” Bekra replied.
“Bekra,...,” Zalika put her hand to her head. “We’ve pranked others before. Remember the base? ... the shit we used to do?...”
“Hmmm...,” Bekra didn’t seem convinced, even if Zalika was trying to make a point. The Itrean woman crossed her arms, unsure as to what to do.
“Ah, don’t be a pussy,” Girsha’lar said, determined. “Everyone gets a share of the action. Besides, it didn’t get fun on this ship till we started to do this...”
“What’s the point of having Dean with us?” Czarek asked.
“Shhh, he does things for us, I do things for him,” Zalika replied. “Right, Dean?”
“Oh, yeah, like ... Zelly is really awesome, you know?” Dean replied.
“Right...,” Czarek said. “So ... what room will it be?”
“Thinking...,” Zalika commented in deep thought. “Not sure...”
Czarek shook his head. “Fuck, man, why not do it to your CO?”
“I really think this is a bad idea,” Bekra replied.
“The Captain?” Zalika seemed to think about it.
“Hmmm...,” Girsha’lar seemed to be thinking about it.
“Yeah, the big one.” Czarek walked over and patted Zalika’s shoulder. “Hey ... I’ve done it to my COs, just like my first one ... never got caught.”
“Yeah, but it’s usually the ones that deserve it,” Zalika commented.
“Not this Captain, mate,” Bekra added. “Not the CO and XO.”
Czarek’s eyes lit up. “Oh, fuck yeah, now you really need to do it, especially with me to watch over it. Two for one, man. I have to see it.” The man almost clapped his hands. “I’ll make it better. 300 mard for you. I got nothing else to spend it on. You do this, I’ll give you 300.”
“Don’t add money to this,” Bekra sneered at him.
“Deal,” Zalika said without question, causing the Itrean’s reptilian eyes to roll in disbelief.
“Ummm,” Dean seemed to think about it. “Like ... I don’t mean to be a total bummer on this, Zelly, but we’re missing something important.”
“Yeah, we need Empusa’s shit. Did somebody get it?”
“Don’t look at me,” Czarek said.
“I don’t have any,” Bekra replied.
“Of course, nobody has it,” Zalika replied. “I’d seen a baggie otherwise. Girsha’lar, you feel like doing it?”
Girsha’lar paused and shook her head. “Ehh ... nope,” she said, shifting her shark-like tail. “Tapped out...”
“I’m not doing this,” Bekra added, shaking her head aggressively.
“Ugh ... useless,” Czarek said.
Zalika thought about it. “I can do it,” she told them.
“They’ll track who it belongs to,” Bekra countered.
“I ... might be able to help you out on that,” Czarek added. “I know a trick that can make it difficult to trace.”
“You do?” Zalika questioned him.
“Oh, yeah,” he smiled at them. “Leave that to me...”
Inside the CO and XO’s quarters, the room was dark, with a massive projection lifted over much of the interior. The table display was well-lit, and the link had been well-established. Javier, Darin, and Shira sat together, overlooking an important audio and communication meeting from the table.
A projected gathering centered on Shira, Javier, Darin, and at least eight high-ranking officials, arranged in a large circular layout. The display feed would occasionally flicker, but Javier could easily see Admirals and Fleet Admirals sitting behind their desks in group discussion. The XO already knew much of the upper chain of command. Three of the admirals were Martian. One was Fleet Admiral Annika. She was one that Javier wasn’t well attuned with, but at least knew her or had seen her on a few occasions. She carried a pale complexion and was reminiscent of a woman born in former Russia. Admiral Hazer was one that Javier already knew. He sat by his desk with his gloved hands wrapped together.
The newest Martian Admiral, a Vice Admiral, was one that Javier knew very little about. He had a pale complexion, being in his mid-40s, almost a man of European or North American descent. His notable features included a black handlebar mustache, brown hair, and a muscular physique that was almost as impressive as that of Stone or Gavril. The officer’s uniform was seemingly tailored to fit his shape perfectly. All that Javier knew was that the Vice Admiral’s name was Gideon. Another man from Palora, Fleet Admiral Thiago, was also one that Javier knew of all too well. Javier recognized the pale face of Admiral Fitzroy, the beleaguered UHN leadership of Gillan. There was a Cebravin Fleet Admiral, a bald and scrawny older man of Japanese facial features, whom Javier only knew as Hiroshi.
The last two of the eight were Fleet Admiral Anaya of Aphadus. Javier easily recognized the woman of Indian ancestry. The last was the Admiral of Oshun. Javier never knew this individual. He was covered in facial tattoos and long black hair. He was possibly a Māori, a person whose origins went back to New Zealand of former Earth, born and raised in Oshun. All that Javier knew was that his name was Inoke. Regardless, it was pleasant to see familiar faces, even if the current circumstances warrant a level of severity in the situation. All the projections showed each of the admirals overlooking a massive central map of the Batrice star system. Various data reports of ships, movements, tactical layouts, and more were lined up for everyone to see.
Anniya was the first to speak. “We bring this meeting to situate our current awareness with Batrice and the UHN,” she explained. “Mars calls upon all its leadership to partake in this briefing. However, we must bring into question the purpose of why Captain Shira, Lieutenant Javier, and ... Darin, a civilian, upon this meeting.”
“That would be Captain Darin, Ma’am,” Darin stoically addressed her, lightly tipping his hat to her. “Commanding Officer of the EDF Rampage at your service...”
“I would be the first to speak on their behalf, Fleet Admiral,” Hazer explained, looking at the others. “Shira is the Captain of the Lifen, Javier, the XO. It was under my request that Shira’s expertise be called upon during this important meeting, as her strategy and tactics are unrivaled. Darin was requested to participate by Shira as well. I request that they all participate in this hearing.”
“I agree,” Thiago added. “Without Captain Shira’s advice, planet Palora would have been lost by the Shal’rein clan. I endorse Admiral Hazer’s request for their participation.”
“And I as well,” Anaya added. “Shira has made a lasting impact on Aphadus. I request that she participate as well.”
“I as well,” Gabriel added. “Any friend of Warrant Officer Stone is a friend in my books. However, I can’t speak for Captain Darin. Earth is not a part of the UHN anymore.”
“I may be inclined to agree,” Anniya replied. “Darin, the matters discussed in this meeting are too important for it to fall into wayward hands.”
“I hear ya,” Darin said in his cowboy persona. “However, the matters are more important to me more than you realize, Lady Admiral, and to everyone else that’s here.” He looked at each one of them. “You may have tossed Earth away, but Earth still stands with the UWA. The EDF is in my makin. I reckon that you need more help now than you ever needed before. If Batrice is lost, then so is the alliances that hold us together. I am the Captain and the Fleet Admiral of the EDF. Whatever the Blue Buccaneers sits, I tell them where to saddle up and meet them out in the prairie we call space...”
“You would be willing to offer your resources in our upcoming operations?” Gabriel asked him.
“Yes, but with one catch. Nothin in life is free. I’m willing to offer my services for a price,” Darin held his gloved fingers up in a display of finances. “Earth needs more muneh if I’m going to continue fightin...”
“Darin...,” Annika explained to him. “We’re well aware of your crusade for Earth, along with your antics in this cowboy charade of yours. While we can sympathize with your plight, you’re still a civilian. Shira and Javier are both members of the UHN. They’ve earned their places, and we can trust them with the top secrecy that is going to be brought upon us. However, we have little to excuse for you and your ... antics...”
Javier could sense that Darin was not in a good position to argue. It was likely that he was going to be dismissed from the meeting.
“What would your resources be?” Gabriel questioned him. “I know your ‘fleet’ status. You offer us a single damaged warship to us...”
“You underestimate the fightin spirit of the Rampage, Vice Admiral, you might be aware that I called you Vice Admiral. I might have been kicked out of the officer’s training academy, but I still know enough about military protocol. The Blue Buccaneers struck hard not so long ago. I raided and captured a Shal’rein communication outpost long enough to spread the word that Zilik’s Disease has a cure.”
“Which resulted in an entire Itrean rebellion over my planet,” Thiago countered.
“Then you know my actions are proof...”
Hazer looked at everyone. “This is wasting our time. We need to focus on the current predicament at hand. Right now, I’m at Gillan, reinforcing their fleet because the Batrice fleets are ready to strike at any time. Darin, you want to help us, fine. Mars stands with Earth, and Earth stands with Mars. You can bring the Rampage to Gillan.”
“I support Hazer’s decision,” Fitzroy added. “We need every warship we can get at Gillan, relic or not...”
“I’ll be the final judge of all this,” Annika countered and pointed to her desk. “Darin’s presence over Batrice is not in question, but his presence here, in this meeting. Right now, we see no reason to keep him here. He is a security risk. While I doubt he would betray us, the remote possibility still remains that he would unveil the information to Fleet Admiral Baxton.”
Javier looked over to see that Darin was unmoved, but deep down knew that he was in a weaker position than ever before. Many of the admirals seemed to be in agreement.
“Fleet Admiral,” Shira spoke up. “A moment of your time, please...”
Annika nodded her head.
“I do believe that this is also slowing us down,” the Shal’rein explained. “Do you believe that Darin is a potential risk when you’ve already realized that Baxton knows we’re conspiring against him as we speak?”
“Captain Shira,” Annika countered. “The fact that we’re allowing you, a prior turncoat, in this meeting already tells you exactly how we look at this as it is. Years ago, we would have never even considered letting an Itrean in our ranks, let alone a Captain. However, you’ve proven more than enough in your allegiance to the UHN along with your competence in leadership. Darin, among the other Earthers, were handed over to the T’rintar clan. That wasn’t our decision, but the UWA.”
“That’s exactly the point, Ma’am,” Javier spoke up. “Fleet Admiral, permission to speak.”
“Go ahead,” Annika replied.
“Earth was part of the UHN. There was a time that it had the second most powerful land force in the UWA, that’s only recently been rivaled by Batrice. Instead, we discarded it and tossed it in the garbage. I speak for Darin and absolutely agree that he has rebuilt the Earth Defense Force and is still doing it as we speak. He should be allowed to participate in this meeting, along with any other briefings we have pertaining to Batrice. Just because the UWA made the agreement to surrender Earth to the Itreans doesn’t mean that they’ve been kicked out of human affairs. He’s an example of the fighting spirit of a people that not only represents them, but all of us. We could still use his help in this matter...”
Darin looked over to Javier and gave a slow, solemn nod to him before looking back at the others. Javier could notice that the discussions were not necessarily irrelevant, but the fact that it was already late at night for some of them. Many of the admirals simply wished to carry forth.
“I see no harm in having the leader of the EDF present,” Hazer said. “That’s exactly the point of this meeting. Let’s move on...”
Annika finally backed down. “Very well...,” she said. “Captain Darin, you wish to support the UHN; we all agree. However, understand that the UHN is not a bank to be pilfered. We all fight for a common cause, and are not in the mood to hire privateers. If you wish to partake in this and our upcoming operations, then you must not only agree to keep this secret, but do this under the heart and spirit of the UHN and the UWA, and not just yourself and Earth. In other words, you’re doing this as a gesture of goodwill, and maybe then, we might ultimately be able to help your cause as a gesture of goodwill in return, somehow, assuming the matters of Batrice are settled. Is that understood?...”
Javier was wondering if this was Darin’s ultimate goal coming into fruition. The cowboy seemed to think about it. He briefly closed his eyes before looking at everyone. It was his time to choose.
“I hear ya, partners,” Darin replied to all of them. “Earth stands with the UHN ... Consider this one, on the house.”
“Then, let us continue,” Annika explained to everyone. “At this time, I don’t need to remind anyone that Batrice’s revolution has been officially considered an act of Open Rebellion and Insurrection against the UWA. The colony of Batrice is to be looked at as a rogue colony that has already committed to acts of violence and hostility against UHN assets. Lecron’s Administration has officially declared war on Batrice.”
It was a simple notice that loomed over Javier among the other admirals. Many have already acknowledged it long before, but it still set the tone in the briefing. Javier turned to see that Shira was quiet like everyone else, her thumb pressed to the bottom of her jaw and snout in thought.
“We’re assembled in this meeting to oversee the current future planned operations against the colony of Batrice,” Annika continued. “The current Chairman of the UWA has given his blessing for the UHN to conduct any and all necessary actions needed to subdue Batrice. Our goal is to come up with missions and parameters of attack and defense against Batrice’s aggression.”
Hazer tapped his panel. Sets of ships appeared as the Trappist-1 star system became visible to everyone. Sets of arrows were established in orbit around some of the seven planets of the system. Colors of black and red could be seen depicting the Batrice fleets, with the red and blue depicting the UHN.
“As you’re all aware,” Hazer explained. “I’ve currently taken command of Martian fleet Alpha and have 20 ships in orbit with Gillan to reinforce their home defense fleet of 18. Martian fleet Gamma is on standby if additional reinforcements are needed. I prefer to keep Fleet Gamma at Mars along with the other planetary defense fleets at home until deemed otherwise.”
“I might have to agree, unfortunately,” Thiago replied. “We cannot let our home systems be defenseless.”
“What about Batrice?” Annika asked. “They have a new fleet assembled in sector D2. They remain two hours away from Gillan.”
“That would be the combination of Fleet Emerald and Fleet Granite,” Fitzroy explained in his faint New Zealand accent. “32 ships in all, not including any additional stealth cruisers that they may have in their possession. Their fleet has been holding position for approximately 13 hours. We do not believe that Batrice has the upper hand if they launch an attack on Gillan.”
“Seven of their ships consist of assault transports and assault carriers led by the UHN Othismos. It is believed that Batrice has enough troops to conquer Gillan with this fleet. It’s recommended that additional marines be delivered to Gillan.”
“Agreed,” Hazer said. “However, I’m not as worried about having enough marines as there isn’t enough landmass for Batrice to really take. The main continent of Aucklandria isn’t enough to house a sizeable population, let alone Fort Rangoon. My biggest concern is the UHN Cancrinite, their flagship taken from Fort Batrice itself.” The specifications of the large cylindrical hull warship could be seen in the center formation of sector D2. “It’s their most powerful dreadnought/carrier in their inventory. It’s enough to best the Enterprise in a one-on-one fight.”
“What about our assets?” Gabriel said. “Admiral Fitzroy, what is the status of the UHN Iridium?”
“Approximately 97% completion,” Fitzroy explained. “We’re trying to hurry up with its construction, but I can’t recommend it be brought into combat. The ship hasn’t even undergone its trial runs yet. However, I do believe that the Enterprise and our Strike Carrier Melbourne are sufficient enough to repel the Cancrinite.”
“I’m not in full agreement with this,” Hazer interjected. “Right now, Batrice has two strike carriers, the Vengeance, with Fleet Obsidian, and their new one, the Albatross, recently commissioned weeks ago, that was stationed at Fort Darwin.”
“Is it still there?” Gabriel asked.
“No. We believe they moved it to Fleet Felsite. This isn’t including the fact that Fort Batrice has two of its remaining Widado Heavy Battleships in their possession. If any of these ships join up with Sector D2’s fleet, then they will have the means to launch an all-out attack on Fort Rangoon and planet Gillan. I’ve instructed Admiral Fitzroy to begin preparations for moving the uncompleted hulk of the Iridium to Mars for safekeeping.”
Shira’s gray fingers tapped the table. “That would be wise,” she calmly explained. “Batrice’s goal is to ultimately secure any vital assets that Gillan possesses. The other Batrice Emerald-class Dreadnoughts are four months from completion. The Iridium would be a high-value target. However, it should be noted that the fear of the UHN Widado and the UHN Rama being used in direct combat is unlikely. They will remain with Fort Batrice.”
“You so sure of that, Captain Shira?” Hazer questioned her. “Fort Batrice doesn’t need any protection against enemy warships. It doesn’t even need to have any home defense fleet, either. Baxton’s most likely going to move them to reinforce other fleets.”
“I do not believe so, and the evidence has already been provided to us.” She gestured with her hand to the map layout. “The Cancrinite has already been sent to serve as the flagship of the D2 fleet while both the Widado and the Rama remain in place. That has been in effect for well over 14 hours.”
“What if they’re just trying to trip us up? Batrice is in a good position with their fleets, and they only have four areas of interest in the entire Trappist system, with Gillan being one of them. It won’t take them much to move their assets around to prioritize in what they plan to secure.”
“That is true, but I have reason to believe that both heavy battleships will not be moved, one that I’ll explain later. Your concerns should be focused on the other two carriers. Admiral Fitzroy, how much longer before the Iridium is moved?”
Javier was noticing that Fleet Admiral Anaya was heavily focused on Shira, almost as if she were taking note of her question and inquiry.
“It’s going to take at least 12 more hours, Captain,” Fitzroy replied before looking at the rest of the admirals. “We still need to get the main reactor online before she can even move.”
“Admiral,” Hazer told him. “I don’t care what needs to be done. If we need to rip the ship from the moorings and drag it to the gate ring, then so be it; that ship will be secured, whatever means necessary.”
“Understood, Admiral,” Fitzroy said.
“We’ll send our best engineers to help you out,” Anaya remarked. “Expect to see them in three hours, Admiral Fitzroy.”
“Same goes with Palora,” Thiago added. “If it’s one thing that Valradena and Valdivia have plenty of, it’s their asteroid tugs. I’ll instruct Valradena to send as many of them as possible to Fort Rangoon ASAP. If you need to get any of the other incomplete ship hulks moved, then we can at least save them from being captured by Batrice. We’ll worry about finishing their constructions later.”
“Thank you, Fleet Admirals,” Fitzroy replied to them.
Gabriel grumbled a little bit in his seat. “Hmmm...,” he said. “We need to focus on a method of attacking Batrice instead of discussing the possibility of losing Gillan.”
“I agree as well.”
“Our primary dilemma right now is Fort Batrice,” Annika said. “It’s the heart of planet Batrice itself. Even if we used every ship in the UHN arsenal against the base, we’ll lose up to 75% of our fleet in hopes of taking it.”
“It’s a futile argument, Fleet Admiral,” Shira replied. “The combined forces of Batrice and Fort Batrice itself are enough to decimate the entire current UHN force in a direct confrontation. By losing Batrice, up to 1/3 of the UHN’s fleet assets have been lost. There are not enough ships to win this war. Other methods must be considered.”
“I reckon I’ve seen worse odds,” Darin added, looking at Shira. “I’ve faced my set of challenges before and always been told that I’d be the loser when I come up on top. This one is no different ... even a bear can be taken down by a handgun if you hit the right place. You just have to look at the right spots to shoot...”
Shira’s one eye briefly looked over at him. “Precisely...”
“Fleet Admiral Baxton is only one man against all of us,” Inoke added. “We still carry the superior forces.”
“I agree with Admiral Inoke as well,” Gabriel explained. “We might still have an uphill battle, but we shouldn’t give up, either. We should consider engaging the Sector D2 fleet and push them away from Gillan, hit them hard, and force them into retreat. Even a victory like that would still make Batrice reconsider ever launching an attack on Gillan.”
“That would be easier said than done,” Hazer replied. “Baxton is using a hangman strategy, keeping his fleet within close enough striking distance to use his railguns, while keeping his fleet far enough away that if we used our fleet to attack him, it would leave Gillan defenseless.”
Javier could see Anaya nod her head in absolute agreement, knowing her prior predicament that came into play regarding the Shal’rein attacking in a similar fashion.
“There is one method that we can try,” Hazer continued. “We can use Fleet Alpha to leave Gillan to hopefully engage the D2 fleet. If their fleet jumps ahead and attacks Fort Rangoon, we can use Fleet Gamma to sweep in and defend Gillan, force Baxton to attack the base while I double back and cripple the D2 fleet. But it would have to be coordinated well enough that we can prevent Baxton’s fleet from putting troops on the ground...”
Thiago nodded and sighed. “I don’t know about any of you,” he said to everybody. “But I would like to avoid another ground battle. Even Palora is still having to recover from the damage inflicted by the Shal’rein. I don’t want Gillan to suffer the same fate.”
“There is a potential flaw in that strategy, Admiral,” Shira explained. “Batrice has additional fleets on standby. Fleet Felsite has currently relocated and is patrolling and protecting the observation satellite installation, Tim-1 of Planet Tanami. An important question is raised about why Batrice decided to place the carrier Albatross in that fleet when the satellite installation is the least valuable area of interest in the entire Trappist-1 system.”
“Tim-1 installation is Batrice’s inner long-range observation network,” Gabriel remarked. “Its only purpose is to serve as a secondary monitoring station for any ship activity near the Trappist 1 star, along with any activity of the adjacent planets near it. Besides finding the T’rintar clan ship Syn years ago, it hasn’t served any other vital purpose. It’s not a heavily defended target, nor is there a reason to really protect it. Shira has brought up a good point. Why did they move their fleet to there, along with one of their valuable capital ships?”
“Because it’s their Fleet Gamma...,” Hazer realized. “Baxton already knows what I’d be planning. The reason they have their fleet there is to make us believe they’re protecting the installation, which isn’t their goal at all. Fleet Felsite is in position to jump to Gillan if we leave it undefended or for them to reinforce the D2 fleet...”
“That is correct,” Shira said. “Unlike Tim-1’s more autonomous nature, the Observation Outpost Alpha-G on planet Celebes is far more important. The military base has much more resources devoted to maintaining its operation, including the more powerful equipment used for long-range scanning systems to monitor the outer planets of the solar system. It is much more likely that Fleet Obsidian will remain in place at Celebes ... something that can be potentially used for our benefit later...”
“Captain Shira,” Annika remarked, giving a hard look at her. “I’m well aware of your personality since the tribunal a year ago. We would appreciate it if you would offer suggestions to us rather than dismissing our ideas. If you know something that we don’t, then please explain it to us instead of delaying our time.”
Shira’s brow lifted a little bit upon hearing that. “This is not an attempt to dismiss your claims, only a word of caution. Your predicament is a difficult scenario, one that should have been addressed and dealt with well before Batrice’s secession. However, that argument is ultimately irrelevant because it’s too late. Admiral Inoke claims that Baxton is one man against the many. The fact is that Baxton is the perfect mirror against all of you, a single reflection so powerful that it can best its owner in combat. Any move that you make can be countered. He knows all of you and will use that to his advantage.”
“Shira is right,” Anaya interjected. “Many of us know Fleet Admiral Baxton to some degree, or know him personally. However, he doesn’t know you, Shira. It’s the one thing that is beyond his control.”
“Then what are you proposing?” Annika asked the Shal’rein. “If you have an idea on how we can best Batrice, then we’re open to suggestions.”
Shira’s nostrils flared. “The solution is simple: A direct confrontation with Fort Batrice is not recommended at this time. However, it still remains the ultimate goal. Batrice itself has looked upon Fort Batrice as its symbol of power and defiance, ultimately becoming its religion. Without it, only their fleet and planetary defenses represent their last line of defense. However, I believe that without Fort Batrice, the colony would ultimately surrender to the UWA without the need to ever invade the planet at all.”
“It’s true,” Javier added. “Samantha Batrice looked upon Fort Batrice as her ultimate creation, the future of her colony. Without Fort Batrice, the government regime in power would more likely surrender.”
“With that said, however,” Shira continued. “Our current goal is to weaken Batrice by other means before considering a possible direct confrontation with Fort Batrice. The evacuation of Gillan’s hulks should be considered a priority. Meanwhile, we should focus on other possible allies...”
“You’re suggesting that we call the T’rintar clan to assist us?” Inoke questioned her.
“No, that isn’t who I’m referring to...” Shira explained. “There are many reasons as to why the T’rintar clan must stay out of this Civil War of yours. When I refer to allies, you simply look closer at Batrice itself...”
Many of the Admirals seemed to look at one another with a hint of confusion. Gabriel looked at Hazer.
“What are the current reports of the resistance movements in Batrice?” Gabriel asked, getting the hint.
