Chapter 72: Who is the Sonuam?
Science Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 72: Who is the Sonuam? - Three young people represent Earth in a battle with our powerful ancestors who seeded us and terraformed Earth. It is a battle against people who believe Earth has lost its way, and they intend to destroy Earth if it does not comply. ‘Unexpected visitors delayed the Agglomeration; we will adjourn for fifteen minutes,’ the Supreme Queen announced telepathically.
‘What is that about, Nurgul?’ Dorel asked as they ate a snack from some of the younger queens.
‘I have no idea. The Agglomeration trustees sounded excited, then surprisingly asked if they could bring them along. The Vice-Chancellor didn’t know if their guests would agree to join us. Dorel, I am looking forward to your briefing.’
Brendan joined them. ‘Hundreds of thousands of our people suddenly died in the last few days.’
Brendan then absently walked to the table and brought a drink and a banana-shaped blue fruit.
‘Do your doctors suspect a biological attack, Brendan?’ The Supreme Queen asked.
‘At first, they did but soon realized it was those who the Sugigoth occupied.’
‘Did Seka die?’ Dorel asked.
‘So far, she, like those we decontaminated, are doing well. Eight of my delegates died last night.’
‘What is the cause of death?’ Dorel asked.
‘The doctors are investigating but are puzzled.’
‘Here come the Agglomeration and their guests!’ Exclaimed the Supreme Queen. ‘Those beings look like sea creatures.’
Brendan recognized the Agglomeration military and trustees. Along with them floated ethereal beings that looked like octopi with ten tentacles.
‘Those must be the Sonuam,’ said Brendan. ‘They must’ve left their bodies on the ship!’
The Supreme Queen looked at Brendan and moved her antennae to indicate she was puzzled.
David and Ashlyn joined them. ‘This is exciting; those must be the Sonuam.’ David turned to the Supreme Queen. ‘They are the ancient enemy of the Sugigoth; they come from another multiverse.’
‘Then I am not surprised the Agglomeration was excited,’ remarked the Supreme Queen. ‘I look forward to the session with eager anticipation.’
‘I don’t. They are not happy about something and are not giving off a positive feeling,’ said Ashlyn. ‘I can feel they are disgruntled.’
‘That is odd. I cannot sense anything from them nor even sense their presence,’ said the Supreme Queen. ‘It is time to meet them and then start the session.’
Five minutes later, the Supreme Queen stood in front of the podium. ‘I would like to introduce the Sonuam. They tell me they are chasing the Sugigoth. One of their probes detected the Sugigoth in our universe. They would like to hear what we know,’ said the Supreme Queen.
Ashlyn stood. ‘Supreme Queen, we know nothing of these Sonuam. I would like to know more about the Sonuam and ask them some questions before beginning.’
‘Ashlyn, is this entirely necessary? Can we not wait until after we present?’
‘No, Supreme Queen, the Paradigm, and the XaX do not know the Sonuam. We don’t even know if these beings are the Sonuam. Who identified them, and how do we know they are not hostile to us? They may be who they say they are, but I know nothing of them. I would like them to introduce themselves to us and present their credentials,’ said Ashlyn, her face blank while communicating telepathically without expression.
The Supreme Queen and the Vice-Chancellor conferred then spoke privately with the Sonuam.
Ashlyn felt their disbelief and anger. She, Brendan, and David looked at each other. Brendan nodded barely noticeably.
One of the Sonuam floated onto the stage and to the podium.
‘I am telepathic reference AABTheta1AA on this channel. I am a consolidator and species classifier. We come in peace, but we chase a predator from our universe. A probe of series 9HHBB detected our quarry two rotations of this planet ago. We traveled across the void to capture and then eradicate them. Our probe lost the Sugigoth half a rotation ago. Do you know where they have gone?’Asked AABTheta1AA.
‘We will answer that question to your satisfaction, but first, we have some questions we would like to ask. When you arrived, you were annoyed. What is that about?’ Ashlyn asked.
The Sonuam registered surprise telepathically before it shut the feeling down.
‘We have chased our quarry for as long as it takes suns to be born and die. We were close and did not want to lose the Sugigoth anymore. If they establish themselves here, they will become a living nightmare.’
‘Come now! You were not satisfied with something we have done or not done. You are giving us only part of the answer,’ said Ashlyn. ‘This is not a satisfactory basis to start our relationship, alliance, or friendship.’
Many in the audience moved restlessly, and the Supreme Queen’s antennae indicated Ashlyn’s posture disturbed them.
‘We visited the oldest species from this universe as a courtesy and to indicate our good intentions. We did not intend to alert lesser civilizations to our presence,’ said AABTheta1AA.
‘As a person from a primitive planet in one of those lesser civilizations, I would like to know why?’
