Chapter 63: The Ancients
Science Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 63: The Ancients - Three young people represent Earth in a battle with our powerful ancestors who seeded us and terraformed Earth. It is a battle against people who believe Earth has lost its way, and they intend to destroy Earth if it does not comply. They are so far ahead of us that they are Godlike but are biased and irrational and prepared to inflict pain without compunction.

Three days later, Keresen stood in front of the group in the conference room on the battleship.
“I will brief you on our agenda over the next few days. We will land on Thiastea, where you will meet your counterparts. The Conventicle, our ruling group, chose Thiastea as it is the planet with the lowest level of radiation in the Agglomeration. Thirty-two ancient species make up the Agglomeration. We allied to fight the Gnituruta and then formed a tighter unit. The Councilors and Queens will meet with the Conventicle.”
‘What is the makeup of the Conventicle?’ Asked the Supreme Queen.
‘It comprises three custom-built supermassive AIs, thirty-two biological trustees, and thirty-two small AI trustees, also called companions. They rule over 43 trillion beings spread over twenty galaxies.’
Keresen looked around the room.
‘Each group will meet with their counterparts. Expect to work hard. I gave you all communicators. Before we land, you will receive directions and contact information. The Council and Queens will leave with me.’
Brendan and his group followed the crowd through the portal leading to the Conventikon, where they were to meet. There were sixty-four Conventikons spread through the Agglomeration, and the Conventicle met in all of them randomly and for random periods. They all looked the same. Regardless of where the trustee lived, they met at the Conventikon selected.
‘Welcome to our Conventikon,’ said the figure, changing form as it spoke; I am one of the Avatars of the Super AI trustees. Please proceed to medical for microbiome assessment and radiation hardening. We must ensure you will be safe here as the environment differs significantly from anything you have experienced. Our trustees, primary and secondary biological, will all go through a similar procedure. We will augment your immune system and DNA structure to cope with our environment. We will assess your skill set to place you with the most appropriate companions. You all can use our rich language set telepathically. I believe they gave our commonly spoken language to you on the small battleship on the way here. We can all speak the language of the XaX and the Paradigm.’
‘Are there any questions before we move on?’
‘How much more radiation is there here than in our galaxy?’ Asked one of the Councilors.
‘If you were on the surface, you would receive a lethal dose in two minutes. The XaX would manage three minutes. We are far below the surface. We installed a second set of shields around the planet to reduce the radiation during your visit. Without treatment, you could survive two months here. After three treatments, you can enjoy a picnic on the surface. We make your DNA and cells self-repairing and self-correcting. We will offer you discretionary enhancements. Speak to your medical AI to decide what you want. You will be here for three days. Take advantage of the opportunity.’
‘Brendan, your group doesn’t need to go to the clinic. I will take you to meet the Chancellor. When you meet her, bow slightly like this,’ said Keresen, demonstrating.
‘Where are the other members of your Council?’
‘Vendelin is meeting the military, and the others tagged along with other groups.’
‘So, how do you think I am going, Brendan?’ Asked Ihita Hemant at lunch nine months later.
‘How do you think you are doing?’ Brendan asked, smiling.
‘I look different. My parents say I finally look respectable and dress and behave appropriately. They believe I am suited to my new public relations role. I wear business clothes because my hair is a darker, rich red. I’ve stopped playing dumb, and I am working harder than I have ever worked before. I love having workers working for me. I never realized I love to be a queen. It’s more than that; I adore the role. Dorel’s idea to use workers was a great suggestion. Keresen, how do you think I am doing? You can comment, can’t you?’
Keresen looked at Brendan and Ihita. ‘I had no idea most of you fitted your roles poorly. You were reduplicating effort, and no one was responsible for anything. In my wildest imagination, I could not have conceived of a more unwieldy and inefficient ruling body.’
‘None of us knew how to run a Council. We only realized how much we needed to change when we were with you guys on Thiastea. I thought the Council should get bigger. Now we’re down to 46 from 1400 and a 200-person executive on top of it. It was a shambles, but we knew no better. I know some of the slackers will resign, but they are taking their sweet time. They make a big noise and stir up the big companies and their initial sponsors. The original group, which worked on the military budget, is plotting to regain their jobs. They got kickbacks and perks and missed the old lives they led.’
‘How are you working with the AIs?’ Brendan asked.
‘I know they have rights and are equal to us, but I find it difficult to respect them as colleagues. I’ve never seen them as capable as us, but I learned we each have strengths and weaknesses. The Super AIs are the actual doers of almost everything,” said Ihita, then paused. ‘I can’t get over my fear of them.’
‘Ihita, you are doing well; I have no concerns about you or suggestions for improvement. I am delighted to say you are working hard and making a difference.’
‘Can you all come to my party on Saturday night? It’s my five-hundredth birthday. Do you know I was the Council’s youngest member for ninety-four years? You guys are the youngest, and I no longer have any excuse for immature behavior. Anyhow, that’s what my mother says.’
‘Yes, of course, we will,’ said Brendan.
‘Our group will all be there,’ said Keresen. ‘Ihita, we are proud of you.’
‘I am so jealous of your ladies. They have both human and XaX babies. Please ask them to bring the babies,’ said Ihita. ‘Please don’t forget, Brendan, Ambar’s friend, Arrluk, is coming to interview the Triumvirate in fifteen minutes. I know she is difficult, but she is an excellent reporter.’
Ihita grinned and flounced out.
‘Keresen, you guys have been magnificent. You must be the best consultants around,’ said Brendan.
‘Brendan, you know we are the only consultants around.”
Brendan laughed.
Keresen smiled telepathically; he made sure to make it enigmatic. ‘I would like to observe your interview with the fearsome media.’
Brendan nodded absently. ‘Sure, make my embarrassment complete.’
Keresen laughed. ‘A good leader must be able to put on a convincing show for the public.’
