Chapter 52: The Device
Science Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 52: The Device - Three young people represent Earth in a battle with our powerful ancestors who seeded us and terraformed Earth. It is a battle against people who believe Earth has lost its way, and they intend to destroy Earth if it does not comply. They are so far ahead of us that they are Godlike but are biased and irrational and prepared to inflict pain without compunction.

Brendan turned to Makuto Kambi. “No one knew us; we are not who you think we are. You must do more work to find out who you seek.”
“Whaaat?” Spluttered Makuto.
“Just kidding,” said Brendan. “Let’s see this little device you have to show us.”
Makuto and her group laughed uproariously. “Brendan, you scoundrel, we might yet surprise you. Follow me.”
Makuto opened a door leading into a rocky tunnel. The tunnel walls were solid rock and roughly hewn.
“This rock is exceedingly hard. We use tunneling machines, but even they find it hard work.”
They walked along a gently curving tunnel for half an hour, gently spiraling downward.
“This door leads to the minuscule device we want to show you.”
Makuto pressed on the wall. Slowly, the wall of rock slid aside, confronting them with a glossy grey machine the size of a city block extending at least a thousand meters upward. The device was constructed in a vertical shaft.
“What does this monolithic device do?” Ashlyn asked.
“We discovered how to create instantaneous communications across our Galaxy. We still own the patent in the Paradigm, and it alone funds anything we could wish to buy. We use similar devices to broadcast our media throughout the Paradigm and beyond. This device can broadcast to another galaxy up to 200 million light-years distant. Do you know what we can do with this device?”
“We could trigger the virus throughout the Drunduh planets to kill them. The XaX built a virus to kill the Drunduh. If we infect the Drunduh Atra’s parents discovered at their base, we could spread the virus widely if they travel back. The XaX used ships to trigger the virus to act,” said David, pausing for a breath.
“I suspect the Drunduh, on the other hand, is numerous and more sophisticated. They might see our ships when we try to trigger the virus. Alternatively, we might not have sufficient ships to trigger the virus. Maybe their doctors are better than the Drunduh here. If we can point this correctly, we can trigger the whole thing in a sweep,” said Ashlyn.
“Can you move and point the machine?” Brendan asked.
Makuto shook her head and frowned.
“On one critical day at the right time, this device will sweep the correct galaxy,” said Brendan. “If that is not the case, we are in deep trouble. There is a shitload of work we have to do. Makuto, we will return to the XaX and schedule a meeting with the appropriate people. Bring your top astronomers with you when we call.”
“Have you got a shortcut back to the top?” Ashlyn asked. “If you can build a device like this, you can stop messing us around. Time is of the essence.”
Makuto and her people laughed. “You youngsters are brighter than you look.”
Ashlyn grinned.
Makuto led them to a portal back to the cavern.
“Guys, let’s spend some time getting our heads together. We’ll formulate the bones of a plan, one the experts can modify and refine. We’ll think about who should be there.”
The Supreme Queen opened the meeting by speaking telepathically. “Today, the Paradigm and the XaX Nest signed a peace agreement. We have opened discussions on an alliance and are separately discussing trade. Today, we will discuss plans to defeat the Drunduh. I invited those who I deem important to this first meeting. If we can reach an agreement, I expect our militaries will work together to plan.”
The Supreme Queen looked around the room.
“If we cannot agree, we will work independently against the Drunduh. To my left are our senior military leaders and the equivalents from the Paradigm. I have representatives of the Council at the table in front of me beside my most senior Queens. When you speak, please provide your name and function. We have adopted, for convenience, names that follow your pattern rather than use our telepathic identifier.”
“Orjay Roxhollei, please tell our audience what you discovered.”
Orjay stood as the Queen sat in her boat seat.
“We went to Earth while the Drunduh were attacking. We escaped, followed by a Drunduh frigate that pursued us through semiotic space. We carried an experimental weapon. We fired the weapon when the frigate approached. We destroyed the frigate, but the explosion forced us out of semiotic space. When restarting our generators and repairing our shields, we spotted Drunduh patrols. Sarah Cohen convinced us there was a Drunduh base nearby. We discovered a fleet in orbit around a gas giant and tagged the capital ships. We attached explosives to the cargo ships and severely damaged most.”
Orjay returned to his seat.
“Admiral Ofemia Carreno Intelligence, please tell us what we know about what works to kill the Drunduh,” The Supreme Queen requested.
“We can only penetrate the new generation of Drunduh ship shields with great difficulty. We must use three powerful strikes. Our smaller ships cannot successfully challenge the Drunduh equivalents. Previously, we had clear superiority. On the ground, our assault weapons are not as effective as previously. The new Drunduh troops have superior shields, and the Drunduh use lightning, which makes our armor a liability. We used a manufactured virus that spreads rapidly and kills when triggered. The virus continues to work, but we must land on each planet and kill survivors. There are always some groups that are isolated from infection. We must use a ship to trigger the virus. Our broadcast methods do not work any other way.”
“Admiral, do we know where the Drunduh home galaxy may be found?”
“The Galaxy is a dwarf galaxy which orbits our Galaxy. We call it Glerfos. It is 72000 light-years away. They take six months to travel to us. We can get there in fourteen days. They outnumber the combined Paradigm and us four times. Most of their technology is behind ours, but they optimized their weapons and defenses to fight us.”
“Celani Farkrana, please provide your observations,” the Supreme Queen requested. “Celani Farkrana was an admiral previously and managed a shipbuilding company. She designs weapons systems for the Paradigm.”
