Chapter 51: The Refugees
Science Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 51: The Refugees - Three young people represent Earth in a battle with our powerful ancestors who seeded us and terraformed Earth. It is a battle against people who believe Earth has lost its way, and they intend to destroy Earth if it does not comply. They are so far ahead of us that they are Godlike but are biased and irrational and prepared to inflict pain without compunction.

“Where are we going?” Brendan asked the Queen flying the shuttle.
“We are almost there,” said the young Queen. “These people want to see you, but I do not know why. They will explain.”
“Why us?” David asked.
“I don’t know; they wouldn’t say.”
“Will we be safe?” Ashlyn asked.
“I guarantee you will be safe. The people who requested you are our guests. They permit me to be with you. I’m landing in two minutes. We are all intrigued that they requested to see you. We do not know how they know you are with us.”
The shuttle approached a field surrounded by small cacti and landed. The grass was coarse, and the breeze smelled faintly of peppermint. Ahead of them stood a mound with a heavy metal door. Five girls were chasing another group of younger girls, running ahead and screaming excitedly. Four women and a man stood near the open door, waiting for them. They did not smile, but they looked at the trio intently.
“You are Brundong Moorphy, Oshling Moorphy, and Dorweed Kohon?” Asked a powerfully built woman in homespun but immaculate clothing. The man wore a brown hat with a wide brim. David postulated they were the Paradigm equivalent of the Amish.
Brendan stepped forward, smiled, and indicated as he spoke. “I am Brendan Murphy. This is my sister, Ashlyn Murphy, and my best friend, David Cohen.”
The group clustered tightly together and talked in hushed tones.
The trio was bemused.
A woman walked toward Brendan after the brief conference ended. The group split up, half on either side of the door.
“Please come inside. You may call me Makuto Kambi.” She beckoned and led them inside the door and down two flights of stairs.
The group entered a cavern and followed a winding path down its floor. It had lights that floated in a series of white, yellow, and red rainbows from one side and disappeared into the glossy pitch-black rock. Colorful plants grew on the walls, bearing a proliferation of fruits. The cavern floor was awash with mysterious, bright vegetables and fruit trees.
The cavern extended far into the distance. It was two kilometers wide, and the far side was not visible. On each side of the cavern, the settlers had carved multilevel homes into the walls. The houses were painted to match the flora within the cavern. The roof was smooth and polished.
A faint breeze carried the smells of cooking and the laughter of joyful children playing as their parents worked in the fields.
“Makuto, this cavern is beautiful,” said Ashlyn.
“Thank you; we constantly work to improve it. In the distance, you come to a T-junction. There are two more canyons like this, which are even more extensive. We duplicated what we had naturally at home.” Makuto sighed. “Come this way; we will give you refreshments and talk.”
“This building is the seat of our government,” said Makuto after they enjoyed a simple but delicious meal of vegetables. “You are the first foreigners to see this place. Not even the XaX have seen it.”
“What did you want to talk to us about?” Ashlyn asked.
“Have patience, young Ashlyn; you will not die in ten minutes. You probably will not die in ten centuries. Please do not hurry me. I will get to all your questions in due course. The question is not what we wish to discuss, but how do we know about you? I am pleased the young Queen is with you. As they now understand us, she will tell the Supreme Queen what we discuss, how we came to be refugees, and why.”
“Where do you come from?” Asked David.
“We are from when the Paradigm first reached sufficient medical expertise to keep us alive forever. That was 1.2 million years ago. Most of us were scientists, and half of us had Neruk. I was part of a group exploring the formation of universes when we discovered evidence the multiverse was real, and we could travel elsewhere. We realized the Neruk were interfaced with a more outstanding intellect than ourselves and our evolving computers and AIs. We were determined to learn its language to communicate freely with it.”
“Yes, Aramaic, I learned it at University,” said David.
“We call it Aramaico, a similar name. We learned much faster when we spoke the language of the planetary guardians. Our planet advanced technologically faster than most of the Paradigm. We proposed a new form of Development Program so everyone could benefit. The Council evaluated our ideas and inexplicably waged war on us, the heretics. So began the second Theocratic War. We decided to split from the Paradigm and go elsewhere. The Paradigm ambushed our escape fleet close to the planet of our choice but outside the territory of the Paradigm. It was a brutal battle. Both sides lost millions. Not many of us escaped. Hundreds of thousands died so some of us could escape. We sought sanctuary from the XaX.”
“That is a fascinating take on what happened,” said Brendan. “The history books paint your group as trying to take over. Now I understand why the Paradigm was nervous about us. We replicated your discovery.”
“Yes, we know this. The first group of Theocrats was a bunch of fanatics. They were crazy for power and far more brutal than the brutal Paradigm. That war created an indelible stain on the Paradigm, leading them to turn on us. If you are who we think you are, the time has come for change. The Paradigm has largely forgotten the details of the issues. Still, many would see a great threat in anyone representing change. I am reasonably sure you are the ones, but first, you must meet the Pearls of Ishayria. They will make the determination.”
“Makuto, did you find the Pearls in an asteroid of Athiprium?” Ashlyn asked.
“Yes, you know of the other Pearls?”
The three nodded. “My girlfriend’s father has some,” said Brendan. “She told us how he found them.”
“We also know of them from dreams,” said Ashlyn. “We dreamed the same dream when exploring consciousness levels.”
“Athiprium is a unique alloy only found on asteroids in space. No planet that we know of has discovered Athiprium. Our researchers believe it forms early in the development of galaxies. Asteroids containing Athiprium rarely change location and form unusually stable orbits around gas giants. We found three Pearls and named them after the area where we found them.”
“I assume the Pearls link to an entity of some sort?” David asked.
“Before that question, there is another. What entities look after our multiverse, the universes, and civilizations?”
