Chapter 48: The Drunduh Play a Hand

Science Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 48: The Drunduh Play a Hand - Three young people represent Earth in a battle with our powerful ancestors who seeded us and terraformed Earth. It is a battle against people who believe Earth has lost its way, and they intend to destroy Earth if it does not comply. They are so far ahead of us that they are Godlike but are biased and irrational and prepared to inflict pain without compunction.

After lunch, they relaxed and chatted until Ada joined them, accompanied by Councilor Nayan.

“I was telling Ambar the three of you, along with my son, predicted the Drunduh will attack,” said Ada.

“Nah, I don’t believe it. I think the threat is overrated, and I suspect the mining colonies raided each other. They do it periodically. I strongly suggest the XaX staged the demonstration they showed us,” scoffed Ambar. “I’ve been touring some of their facilities. I am reluctantly a little impressed.”

“Do the XaX strike you as being secretive and dishonest?” David asked.

Ambar looked at David and frowned. “What are you getting at, young man?”

“It was a simple question, Ambar,” said Ada, grinning. “Sometimes, young lady, your paranoia is not one of your most positive features.”

Ambar looked at Ada and grinned. She turned back to David. “They strike me as being simple and open. They don’t have a devious bone in their bodies.”

“So they staged the demonstration you saw to induce the Paradigm to urgently sign a peace accord and then buy XaX technology to fight a nonexistent foe?” David asked. “They are desperate for money and need the Paradigm for their continued survival?”

Atra and Imra laughed uproariously.

Ambar turned on them, glaring. “How dare you laugh at me!”

Ada joined Atra and Imra, laughing.

“What is so funny?” Brendan asked.

“Ambar is deliberately provocative. You guys don’t know her as well as we do,” said Atra. “I went to university with her daughter, and the first time I met her, we had a blazing fight; it went on for two hours. She wound me up. Ambar’s doing the same thing to you, David.”

“So what do you believe, Councilor Nayan?” Brendan asked.

Ambar Nayan cocked her head to the left and lifted her right eyebrow. “The risk to us is high. I am surprised they didn’t attack us previously. We would have been a much softer target than the XaX. I stayed away from home because I didn’t want to waste my time in a series of fruitless arguments. Adm. Udo Orjee and I organized teams of scientists to look at the technology of the Drunduh.”

David laughed. “Councilor Nayan, you can be very different from how I saw you.”

“My illustrious colleague wanted to ask you all the questions. I did my best to take over and wind you up. He was furious. I didn’t know his plan then, but he didn’t get what he wanted,” said Ambar Nayan. “You are the first person I have encountered from one of the primitive planets. You impressed me far more than I expected.”

“You expected us to talk slowly and be stupid and primitive?” Ashlyn asked.

Councilor Nayan slowly nodded. “That is precisely what I expected. David came across as sophisticated as some of my best students at the university.”

Adaobi’s cube beeped. Seconds later, Councilor Nayan’s also beeped, and then so did the cubes of Atra and Imra.

“It has begun,” said David.

Ashlyn looked at him and grimaced. Brendan slowly nodded.

Ada and Ambar excused themselves and walked out of the room.

Imra turned to Brendan. “It’s my parents; they are on the way here on the yacht. They heard the Drunduh attacked Obiastus and landed in Vorgaruhm, the capital.”

“Why did your parents delay?” Ashlyn asked.

“They didn’t believe Atra’s father until I told them what you said. My mother heard the Drunduh attacked Earth,” Imra added, then returned to her conversation with her parents.

“My parents were in the process of picking up your parents when the Drunduh attacked. Fortunately, the Drunduh attack was on the other side of the planet. They had a narrow escape as the Drunduh tried to intercept them. They will tell you about it when they get here in six hours. I’ve warned the XaX our parents are on the way here,” said Atra.

“Is it the yacht we were on?” Brendan asked.

“No, we have a faster yacht my father prefers to use. It’s one of the heavy cruisers we retrofitted, and Daddy armed it to the level of a battleship. We also build all the weapons it carries. Imra’s family builds the shell, and we do the rest. It can house ten thousand guests in the lap of luxury. He wanted a battleship, but mum and grandma persuaded him it was ten steps too far,” said Atra.

“What role does your grandmother play in the business?” David asked.
