Chapter 45: Interrogations Begin
Science Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 45: Interrogations Begin - Three young people represent Earth in a battle with our powerful ancestors who seeded us and terraformed Earth. It is a battle against people who believe Earth has lost its way, and they intend to destroy Earth if it does not comply. They are so far ahead of us that they are Godlike but are biased and irrational and prepared to inflict pain without compunction.

“Brendan, two Councilors are coming here to ask you some questions. Assume they are hostile,” said Amazu Okparra, the lawyer. “One is from the Military Funding sub-consortium, and the other is from Planetary Development. The Military mob competes with Ada, and the Planet Development faction is under major threat from her.”
Seconds later, the pair walked through the door. They introduced themselves. Aakash Mitesh had thick, shiny black hair, wavy on the top of his head, a wide, prominent nose, dark brown eyes, and a few days’ old beard. He dressed in black and frowned when he looked at Brendan
Rajani Veydant was a fine-looking woman. She reminded Brendan of a sultry, auburn-haired twenty-five-year-old postgraduate party girl he knew at University. Her lips were glossy pink, and her eyes big and gray.
They sat opposite Brendan and Amazu. Aakash nodded to Rajani.
“We have inspected the evidence presented to us by the XaX. What is your impression?” Councilor Veydant asked, leaning forward over the low table, putting both elbows on the table, and resting her chin on the palms of her hands.
“I have not seen any evidence; it is above my pay grade,” said Brendan.
“Don’t be facile with us, young man,” said Councilor Mitesh. “It was a simple question: what do you know?”
“The Drunduh kept XaX and humans in storage, and some of the Drunduh recently came over from another galaxy. The Drunduh knew about several seeded planets and attacked Paradigm mining encampments. They plan to take over this galaxy.”
“What is your opinion?”
“I don’t know the specifics of the evidence presented. If the evidence supports what we were told, it is of grave concern,” said Brendan.
“Why do you say that?” Councilor Mitesh asked.
“The Drunduh are formidable foes. I am told the XaX are ahead of the Paradigm. The XaX found the Drunduh challenging to defeat. The Paradigm must work hard to increase its ability to fight the Drunduh,” said Brendan.
“How will the Paradigm obtain this expertise?” Asked Aakash Mitesh.
“There are two pathways available; the first is to use our Brainiac. The second is to buy technology and intellectual property from XaX.”
“What path do you prefer?” Councilor Mitesh asked.
“I would move down both paths. You don’t know the XaX, and establishing relationships and building trust will take time. You can access the Brainiac tomorrow,” said Brendan.
“Can we trust the Brainiac?” Councilor Veydant asked.
“Your scientists have awkwardly asked questions of the Brainiac for a million years. They can now communicate quickly and efficiently. The whole purpose of the Development Path was to teach people to access the Brainiac. You’ve trusted your primitive, inefficient methods. Why distrust a direct path? I can teach someone to access the Brainiac in minutes. Paradigm scientists can be many orders of magnitude more efficient in days.”
“Your approach is arrogant and opinionated,” said Aakash Mitesh.
“I have stated the facts and evidence as I know it. Previously, your scientists could only share images with the Brainiac, and it took them years to learn the process. Now, they can learn to talk to the Brainiac fast. Scientists will not need to do a Development Program. They only need to learn to enter one or two levels of consciousness.”
“Are you saying we could talk to this Brainiac in minutes?” Asked Rajani Veydant.
“Yes, you could speak to the Brainiac here in Boppiolica and then ask to talk to our Brainiac. They connect. In the Paradigm, you will go into Wozo Bud and talk directly to our Brainiac.”
The Councilors looked meaningfully at each other, then turned back to Brendan.
“We think your responses to our questions are fanciful and arrogant,” said Rajani Veydant.
Brendan raised his eyebrows.
“How can we speak to this Brainiac so quickly?” Asked Aakash Mitesh. “It took us years to learn what we did.”
“Can you both enter the level of consciousness, Boppiolica?” Brendan asked.
“Are you deliberately insulting us, young man?” Asked Councilor Veydant.
“No, I am asking a question,” said Brendan. “If you don’t remember, I will teach you, and in five minutes, you will speak to the Brainiac here.”
“I want to see how you teach; imagine we know nothing,” said Councilor Veydant. “Connect us to the Brainiac here.”
Brendan taught them the techniques he had learned from the Neruk and Beetle and connected the Councilors to the Brainiac a minute later. He left them speaking to the Brainiac and then discovered Amazu was also speaking to it.
Half an hour later, none of them had yet emerged. So, Brendan went to the refresher, got himself something to drink and eat, and returned. An hour later, the three appeared.
“Thank you, Brendan; we will be back to ask you some more questions tomorrow,” said Councilor Veydant, her blank face giving nothing away.”
“Amazu, how did it go?” Brendan asked.
“They are pretending to be pleasant, treating you like an expert. Watch out for them tomorrow. Your teaching technique was highly effective and increased your credibility with them. The Councilors are the ones who are opinionated, not you. I wanted to experience the techniques myself. I enjoyed speaking with the Brainiac. I will speak to it more frequently; it provides helpful advice,” said Amazu. “Just don’t be lulled into a false confidence; the process is just beginning.”
Concurrently, Ashlyn sat facing Councilor Ihita Hemant, who glared at her. Hemant had long, wavy straw hair, startling blue eyes, and full red lips. She looked eighteen years old. “I repeat, why were you fighting for a foreign power?”
“Ashlyn glanced at the lawyer. She nodded. “The Drunduh were attacking our ship front and back. The Supreme Queen offered us a chance to escape in a shuttle. What would you have done and why?” Ashlyn asked her and Vyomaag Gauraang of Paradigm External Security.
“It is not for me to answer; it is your question,” said Councilor Gauraang.
“The situation we faced was as follows,” said Ashlyn. “The Drunduh had been at war with the XaX for ages. Finally, the XaX planned a major assault into Drunduh territory. If the XaX fails, the Drunduh will come after the Paradigm. We also know the Drunduh are around our ship, and escape is improbable. We chose whether we hid in some room on the ship or fought. I feel accused of fighting for a foreign power. What would you have done under the same circumstances?”
Ashlyn glared at them, looking from one to the other. “We did not go to the XaX of our own free will, and we are not citizens of the Paradigm. The XaX shows a willingness to make a peace agreement with you. The XaX were not the enemy. You know now what we suspected. The Drunduh have demonstrated they are enemies of the Paradigm. Answer the question. What would you have done in our shoes?”
