Chapter 31: The XaX
Science Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 31: The XaX - Three young people represent Earth in a battle with our powerful ancestors who seeded us and terraformed Earth. It is a battle against people who believe Earth has lost its way, and they intend to destroy Earth if it does not comply. They are so far ahead of us that they are Godlike but are biased and irrational and prepared to inflict pain without compunction.

“Brendan, did you get Atra or Imra?” Ashlyn asked.
“Nope, I’ve tried every five minutes. The Admiral said we were almost there. I suspect the military block communications.”
David leaned forward. “I want to summarize what we know. Admiral Yodera Oluchi, the chief of Paradigm intelligence, and her staff briefed us for two hours. The Paradigm first encountered the XaX more than a hundred thousand years ago. The XaX was not hostile, and when they met them, the XaX scanned our representatives and did it at every encounter. The XaX tries to communicate, as do our people, without success. This is more than a ten-thousand-year-old problem. Over the years, the XaX increased the area of their dominion, as did we.”
David paused and looked at the others, and when they nodded their agreement, he continued.
“We know they are insects, and they look like ants from the pictures. The XaX ships travel twenty-five light-years out of their Dominion to a solar system that we now occupy, but it is a solar system they previously withdrew from. The XaX used to live there in the past. There are no valuable resources on the planet, and we use it as a farming planet. We don’t want the XaX intruding into our territory, but they do so every year. The chief Admiral of the whole shebang wants to eject the current intruders. They aren’t doing any harm, but she alleges they shoot down probes we send to observe them in their dominion. We all fail to understand the big problem and why the Paradigm is so upset. Most of the rationale we heard for war was propaganda bullshit.”
“That’s the story in a nutshell. It’s worth adding that the military knows nothing about the XaX and the level of development,” said Brendan. “They are also ignorant of their industrial output.”
“This is par for the course. First, we encounter a crazy Councilor, and now we meet with an equally crazy military. My worst nightmare is way better than this,” said Ashlyn somberly.
“It gets worse; look at the holo-screen,” said David.
“Holy shit, look at those two huge fleets. There are thousands of ships out there!” Brendan exclaimed. “Guys, we might as well say our farewells now; there is no way we will escape this.”
“Major, it’s good to see you. Do you know when the expert group will arrive?” Ashlyn asked.
“Supreme Admiral Udo Orjee wants you to meet with the XaX on the flagship immediately. The others won’t be here for twenty-six hours, and she doesn’t want to wait. According to Adm. Oluchi, she is furious Councilor Adaobi Hollei is making demands. You guys are on the planet as the comet plummets your way.”
The trio stood and followed the major.
“How will we get there?”
“The Councilor wants her yacht returned. We’ll use a portal. Adaobi’s captain will take her precious craft back. The captain doesn’t expect you to return. What do you think of this little boat?” The major asked, beaming.
“I’ve never seen luxury on this level,” said Brendan. “I didn’t want to sit on the seats I feared dirtying them.”
“We are near the operations room,” said the major as they left the portal. “This super-dreadnought is ten times as big as your cultivation ship.”
“How did the XaX get on board?” David asked.
“They transported in just as we did.”
“Adm. Orjee, this is Brendan Murphy, his sister Ashlyn Murphy, and friend David Cohen,” said Adm. Yodera Oluchi.
Adm. Orjee looked at them down her nose. “So you are the sorry trio that the delightful Councilor regards as expendable. If she wants you expended, we will make every effort to keep you alive. The XaX returned five minutes ago when they detected your ship was heading here. They are agitated and waiting for you. I don’t know who you are, but I heard the story and understand why our beloved Councilor wants to eliminate you.”
An impeccably dressed colonel brought a cube to Adm. Orjee. She looked at the holo-screen and waved him away.
“You certainly excited the XaX; we’ve never seen them like this. More of the big ones came along this time than previously. They are the ones in charge, as far as we can see. I’ve seen them already. I’ll send you along to meet them together with our staff. The XaX have never harmed us, but plenty of guards are in the room and nearby if there is a problem.”
“Have we ever captured and examined any of them, or have they ever captured one of our people?” Brendan asked.
“Our anthropologists examined many of the XaX buried on the planet below. They haven’t captured anyone, as far as we know. If they kidnap you or take you hostage, we will wait here for you for a month,” said Adm. Orjee and guffawed. “Mr. Murphy, do you know something I don’t?”
“No, Adm. Orjee, the idea just popped into my mind. Perhaps they collect all the information they need from the scans they do.”
“Major, you can take this unfortunate trio directly to my hanger. You’ve been there previously.”
Adm. Orjee waved them away and led Adm. Oluchi to a side room.
“Everything is happening so quickly; I feel disoriented,” said David.
“That is Adm. Orjee for you; everything chop-chop is better, if not now yesterday. If you don’t jump, she kicks you into the air. You don’t want to get on the wrong side of her. Here we are. The XaX never sit or lie down in our company.”
