Chapter 9

Science Fiction Sex Story: Chapter 9 - A young officer in an alien planet’s military space force is sent with two other space explorers back to the supposed origin of mankind a millennium or so after it was thought to be decimated. Alpha, they called it. Due to extenuating circumstances, when she arrived on Alpha, or Earth as we know it, she was alone. Not knowing, and even fearing what she would encounter upon landing, it turned out pretty well. Pretty well for her and for what was left of Earth’s severely diminished population.

When Sella returned for dinner the next night, she went straight into Papa’s office and laid a folder on his desk. He wasn’t there at the time, so she turned to us and told us she’d found the information he wanted and double checked everything. Minta, her assistant, came up with the same findings, running parallel but independent paths, using the same data, although somewhat out of order from each other.

She took our hands and walked us back to my suite. “I want another one of Charlie’s kisses, Chalen. May I?”

“You don’t need to ask me, Sella. This won’t work if we set those types of boundaries and requirements. If you want to kiss him, ask him, or just kiss him, but I want you next. I missed you for three months. He didn’t even know you then.” My comment was met with a giggle and a chuckle.

Sella did in fact approach Charlie with a questioning look on her face. He looked at me. I nodded. I took up a position behind her and held her waist as they kissed again. Sella moaned as their lips worked together. His hands held her waist, then one hand reached around for me, the other dropping to Sella’s bottom and pulling her toward him. His hand on my waist, he pulled me around beside Sella and hugged us both together.

“I am the luckiest man in the universe,” Charlie said, sighing, then kissing me, as well.

“Miss Vorn, your grandfather wishes your presence in his office,” we heard over the intercom the staff uses to keep track of us and keep us informed.

“Papa must be in. Come on, we can continue this discussion later.”

Papa was frowning when we entered. “Sella, darling, please tell me this isn’t true. Tell me you are pulling my leg in a prank.”

“I can’t do that, sir. That is verified information, true to the core. My assistant and I came to the same conclusion running similar paths, yet independently. We then cross checked each other’s work and assumptions and came to the only conclusion available. Captain Palor Sade, the captain of the PDCS Sherod Sword, turned enough of his crew so that he was able to commandeer the Tyreen destroyer Vixuus, and used it to fire upon The Messenger, knowing full well that his action might well result in the deaths of the ten of his crew he left on the Vixuus to maintain control and command the weapons onboard the Tyreen spacecraft, as well as the entire Tyreen crew.

“Sir, his craft is presently on the tail end of a cruise of six months, due into port in about three weeks. He has no idea we have this information, as it is all part of records and video returned to Omega One NIC daily as part of a records retrieval process. None of it was specifically requested from him or his ship. He may think there were not enough clues for us to put this together, or he may have forgotten about the procedure, or maybe he’s just brazen enough not to think anyone would have had your fears, not to mention your resources.”

“I’m betting on the last one. The former choices do not reflect accurately the knowledge or experience of a Commander in the Planetary Defense Command, nor a Captain of an Omega One Battleship. Sella, I need to know, how much time do you need to work this out farther? How do we find out who else is involved in this insurrection?”

“Honestly, sir, your best bet for that is to stick a livestock shock stick up Sade’s ass and get a name from him. I have probes now on every move he makes and every move he did make before he set sail on this cruise. That analysis won’t be available for a couple of days. I also need access to the ship, and the data we collect but do not transmit, so that I can analyze that against the probes. We’re not done, by any means, but this part of the investigation is complete. You asked which ship was there. It was Sherod Sword, under the command of Palor Sade.”

“You are good, aren’t you?”

“I try, Admiral. I try.”

“OK, you have free rein to do as you need to take this to its ends. You and your help only at this time. I’ll talk to Zalen and Ralls and make sure they have the first rung of the ladder. We’ll involve the Internal Security Affairs Bureau when we need to, as we’ll need law enforcement help at some point. These are crimes, both military and civilian, and therefore will be in both courts, as a minimum. As a heads up, Sella, would you be available to accompany Charlie and Chalen back to Alpha? The Leader is wanting an outsider, and we are definitely outsiders, to take a look at the Scalar situation that caused so much havoc, and maybe do some research utilizing any data we may have gleaned since then. We can put a historical library into Chalen’s PDCS Cutter, the Phoenix, for your perusal and assistance.”

“I’d love to, sir. I want to bring this current project to a head, though, if that’s all right with you all.”

Papa had to have seen me smile.

“Perfect. Plan on it, then.”

“Sir, you called the cutter the Phoenix, sir?” Charlie asked.

“Yes. We’ve commissioned the last cutter off the line, she’s being outfitted with all the latest, greatest, fastest, strongest, most accurate and the best of everything that will fit on board. Phoenix, rising from the ashes, just like your people, Charlie. Is that a problem?”

“No, sir. But if you know of the Phoenix, you have part of our history here, somewhere. Something to investigate. Not only the name of one of our larger population centers, but many stories also involve the legends, myths, and tales of the Phoenix, perishing in fires of altars and battles and rising from the ashes. If you subscribe to the tales, or even celebrate the myths, such as they are, you have a link to us we haven’t seen yet. That goes back to even before the era of Christianity. Just something to ponder upon.”

“Yes, Charlie. Maybe you are my long-lost nephew, eighty times removed or some such. We can hope. That wouldn’t keep you away from my little girl, though, so don’t lose any sleep over it.”

Papa did know how to make people smile in the midst of adversity. Yes, Charlie laughed, but it wasn’t just the words. It was the way Papa said it. I thought at the time that those two were definitely forming a bond. I think my smile came from the fact that when we left for Alpha, Sella would be on board, even if it was for work. As much as Charlie meant to me at that time, I didn’t want to lose my relationship with Sella. Could I live without it? Yes, I’m sure I could. Did I want to? No. Did I have to? That was yet to be seen, but it was looking good for the home team.

Charlie and I were accompanied to the Capitol of Omega One, New Columbia, where we met with the governmental cabinet, which consisted of all of the Leader’s departmental secretaries. We were advised, basically by order of the Leader, but also Papa and Uncle Zalen, that any mention of the Scalar and the devastation should be kept at under wraps for the time being. Yes, I travelled to Alpha of Sol One. Yes, they call it Earth, just as we thought. Yes, there is human life there, as well as many non-sentient beings and wildlife. Yes, this is Charles Collins, Brigadier General, Alpha’s Ambassador to Omega, and no, it’s none of your business where he sleeps at night. One of Uncle Zalen’s friends in the Senate asked us that one, but it was in private and very much in jest. He was just teasing us at Uncle Zalen’s request. I will get even.

Two more weeks of meeting with different agencies, and questioning, and of Charlie discussing possibilities for trade and reciprocal activities, what little his people could muster, got most of everyone’s questions answered. Including Charlie’s. The molecular separators came up again, to which Charlie agreed if they wanted to send a couple of them home with him, he could see if they would be a feasible project in some of the hinterlands. He didn’t volunteer that the new Earth hinterlands would include ninety-nine percent of the land mass remaining on his Earth. They took a crew of only two personnel to operate, and minimal maintenance. That would provide a method of recovery of some valuable resources his people could use.

Charlie also attended training with Omega One Special Forces a few hours a day and was subsequently issued two sidearms, one laser pistol and one projectile firearm, to carry at all times for his own protection. I was advised that I, too, should carry at all times, just to make sure we were covered, regardless.

The few members of the Federation staff assigned to Omega sat with Charlie and me for hours, talking about the benefits of Earth’s membership should the Earthlings choose that path. There were requirements for membership, one being that monetarily the member world was required to spend a minimum of three percent of their gross domestic product on their own defense and therefore the defense of the Federation.

“That won’t be a problem for us,” Charlie explained to them, “as about five percent of our GDP is assigned directly to the military, but there is another fifteen to twenty percent going into our defense and survival associated infrastructure including upgrades to our near space assets.” Without telling them why, he was able to let them know that Earth’s humanity met their requirements and would like to join. He also offered that they would be needing some technology assistance to be a worthwhile member that could come to the aid of other members instead of being a drag on the whole organization. The meetings were beneficial to all concerned.

One of the Federation representatives, a Tyreen female, noted that humans hadn’t changed much in the millennia past, even though existing in completely different environs.

“Is English the default language on Tyree, Son Lee? If not, you are doing an amazing job of making it look so.” Charlie asked her.

The white haired, blue skinned, somewhat tall, beautiful, and obviously humanlike woman answered without hesitation. “Not even close, Ambassador Collins. It took fifteen of our years, similar to those of Omega, eight in primary and seven more in my secondary and collegiate education, for me to learn the language well enough to conduct business on Omicron, where I first found employment, and even then, I was learning constantly and still learn new things every day. Like how much humanity has persevered in our galaxy.” She smiled at Charlie, then at me. “For example, Mr. Collins, your stature is indistinguishable from that of the current Omega or Omicron male, well within standards of growth and development. Another example is your obvious attraction to small feminine creatures of your species.” She laughed, causing Charlie and me to smile at her antics as well. “I’m sorry for that, Miss Vorn. It just had to be said. I pray I have not offended anyone.”

“No offense taken, Son Lee. I’ll take it as a compliment, since he’s a prime example of his species and I’m just a short member of mine.” I smiled at Charlie, getting him to chuckle and hide his face in his hands.

“Good. There is nothing like an informal friendship to make these formal affairs easier to stomach. Mr. Collins, General, we will be reporting our recommendations to the Grand Federation of Governments Headquarters. I know for a fact there will not be any demands made of you or your people, other than participation in meetings and inclusion on decisions and such for years to come, but please know we will have your best interests at heart. There is a possibility that you will be assigned a Federation Ambassador to accompany you in your travels. There is normally a representative assigned to the member world, but for the near term, that might be better accomplished by having the individual with you, personally, and with Chalen, as the two of you bring Alpha, or Earth, into the fold. We know you will have a closer relationship with Omega One, simply due to your humanity, but that is common for members of the Federation with other members of similar species. Do you have any questions for us?”

Charlie surprised her by asking, “Would you like to volunteer to accompany Chalen and I as we venture among the stars? Or maybe you have a sister?” When Charlie tried and failed to waggle his eyebrows, the five other people in the room all started laughing.

“We’ll see, Ambassador. We’ll see. Yes, I have a sister two years younger than myself. She’s a shopkeeper on Tyree. I’ll tell her you asked.”

“Thank you. Do you have any questions for us, Son Lee?”

“Yes. Yes, I do. Will the two of you stay here for a second after we adjourn?” I nodded, looking at Charlie to do the same. The Omega Planetary Affairs representative and the other Federation employee both shook our hands and after bidding their farewells, left the conference room we were occupying. “General Collins...”

“Son Lee, can you call me Charlie? Just Charlie, for now. I think the formalities have been overtaken by events.”

“Yes, I will. First, a blunt question. Are either of you xenophobic? Do either of you harbor fear or dislike of other races, species, or forms of life? Off the record, do you harbor prejudices against those unlike yourself? I ask for a very specific reason.”

“We have a few bears at home that are extremely dangerous, Son Lee. They are big, and mean, and black, and deadly. And did I mention mean? I don’t care for them, but it’s not because they’re black.” He grinned at her.

“My boyfriend is a little unstable sometimes, Son Lee, but I can attest to the fact that Ambassador Collins does not hold those types of prejudices. Pray tell, where is this conversation going?” I asked of her. She giggled a little at my statement.

“Charlie, Chalen, will you accompany me to dinner tonight? It’s on me, as my guest, but it’s not an official act. I am curiously drawn to you, Ambassador Collins, Charlie, and would like to find out why. This is not normal, as Tyree females do not attach themselves emotionally, nor do they physically mate or stay for long periods with males, for purposes other than reproduction. Most Tyree are asexual or homosexual, save for mating only and for creating heirs through their offspring, however, I think I may now fall into a different category. I must tell you now, Chalen, that I bear no hostility toward you, and I know you are already in a relationship with your cohort here. I just want to analyze this situation, that is all,” Son Lee told us.

I have been told, and I think I have shown, that I can read people pretty well, at least to a certain extent. What I read in Son Lee was a genuine desire to explain a new phenomenon, with no malice toward the subject, nor to the subject’s girlfriend, namely myself. And, of course, I’m not exactly a wallflower, nor afraid of romantic adventure, so I was all for it. Please keep in mind, I do not consider myself a loose woman, and my choice of prior affectionate affairs has always been toward the members of the fairer gender. But still, adventure is just that. It’s usually enjoyable by design. After all, it’s an adventure.

We agreed wholeheartedly to her request. I arranged to pick Son Lee up at her apartment since she mentioned she’d rather travel outside the inner city for our date, and she stated she personally knew of no nice places in the outlying areas. She asked me to pick, but to keep the fare somewhere shy of really spicy. Tyree digestive systems were not compatible with spicy hot foods, she said. I never knew that. I guess you do learn new things all the time. She hugged me, kissed me on the cheeks, then took Charlie’s hand in one of hers, and with the other, touched his cheek, then put it behind his neck and pulled his head down toward her for a very chaste peck on the lips. Being much taller than me, and only several centimeters shorter than Charlie in her high heeled shoes, she didn’t have to pull him down very far.

“I will see you two this evening. Please dress casually for our outing. I don’t want this to be a formal thing. I just want to get to know you and discover what is pulling me toward you, Ambassador.”

Charlie nodded, kissed her on the forehead, surprising even me, then Son Lee walked out smiling ear to ear. Charlie watched her closely as she walked away. She was built just like the most well assembled human females, and he enjoyed watching her leave.

“She’s really something, Charlie. What do you think is going on?” I asked him.
