Chapter 16: The Jealousy

Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 16: The Jealousy - Before the first stars learned to burn, the Pulse was born, a living rhythm of creation that binds gods, universes, and mortal thought. In the world of Zena, a single clash between two kings reawakens that forgotten power. The impact fractures the laws of reality, echoing through distant realms, awakening watchers, universes, and ancient minds that have slept since the dawn of existence. Now, as the Pulse stirs once more, time bends, empires tremble.

Penza- The Academy

They reached the classroom doorway, and the moment they stepped in, every head snapped toward them.

The instructor stopped mid-sentence, his jaw tightening.

“Ah, I see the royalties have finally decided to grace us with their presence,” he said, his tone openly hostile.

A ripple of laughter followed among the students.

Cael muttered under his breath, “Nice. So, this is how it’s supposed to be?”

“Come in. Sit,” the instructor snapped.

They walked in. Zyrian observed him, early thirties, lean, sharp jaw, around 6’3”, quite handsome, but the hostility aimed at them was unmistakable. Too sharp. Too personal.

The room was arranged like a semi-circular amphitheatre around a large holo-display that now showed an image of Zena, with five elevated rows of curved seating, each seat with its own floating secondary screen. Twenty-eight trainees were present; seven seats were empty at the end.

They walked past rows of smug expressions, jealous stares, lingering glances toward the girls, and a few outright glares. None of it is new. None of it is welcome.

Uruses took the seat closest to the walkway. Cael next. Then Ryra, Lyna, Nira, Leon. Zyrian settled at the very end.

“Now that you’re settled,” the instructor said coldly, “review the first fifteen minutes of today’s lesson on your holoscreen when you have time.” He continued, “This is a Level Three class. Since the academy has included you, Level Twos here, try your best to keep up and respect your seniors.”

A few students grunted in agreement, smugly pleased.

“Now. As I was saying. Until fifteen years ago, our people were unaware of any planets beyond Zena and its twin moons...”

His voice drowned out. Zyrian stared at the holo-map, but his mind spiralled elsewhere: Guardians, the girl’s voice, last night’s death, Pashmin’s brutal training, Elira, and the conversation he owed Elira.

He felt a jab in his ribs. He jolted and glared at Leon.

Leon subtly pointed at the instructor.

Verynor,” the instructor said loudly, venom dripping from the name. “Glad you returned from your galactic tour. Tell us the name of our galaxy.”

Zyrian blinked. “Galaxy?”

He paused, and a name surfaced in his mind, profound, ancient, not something the instructor had mentioned. Not something he’d ever heard at all.

“You mean the name we chose, or the one the others chose?” he asked absently.

The room went still.

The instructor’s eyes narrowed. “Others? What others?”

“The people living in this galaxy ... on other planets. Didn’t you say that earlier?” Zyrian asked, genuinely confused.

“I never said anything like that.” His stare sharpened to a blade.

Zyrian looked at his squad. They looked back blankly. Nira shook her head slowly.

“ ... Right. My mistake. Must’ve been dreaming,” Zyrian murmured and sat back.

The instructor studied him for far too long before continuing.

Zyrian zoomed the map out on his holoscreen. It felt ... wrong. Not incorrect, incomplete. Like something was missing where his mind insisted something should be.

But he had no idea how he knew.

When class ended, the instructor and the senior students left, after one last round of glares.

Zyrian remained, staring at the map. His squad gathered around, confused.

“Zyrian, what the hell was that?” Uruses asked. “What did you mean by others and another name?”

“I don’t know,” Zyrian admitted. “It just ... appeared.” He tapped his temple. “It’s like the map is missing something. A piece I can’t explain.”

Nira’s eyes widened. “You’re telling us there’s another map inside your head? The correct one?”

Zyrian laughed softly. “Not a full map. Just ... the sense that this one is wrong. And the name. It came out before I even realised.”

He stood abruptly. “And why the hell was that instructor so hostile?” he said. “What did I miss?”

They started down the hallway.

“You don’t know him?” Lyna snorted. “Instructor Inis. He’s popular around the academy, especially with female instructors ... and girls.”

Zyrian shrugged. “So? Why would I know him? I don’t bother with academy gossip.” Then, with a grin, “Besides, us boys are quite popular with the women, too.” He pointed to his friends, who nodded proudly.

Ryra rolled her eyes. “And this is why you know nothing. Maybe pay attention from now on. Especially to him.”

“What do you mean? Is he important? Some business heir?” Cael asked.

“Argh, boys really are stupid,” Ryra gritted out.

“Just say it then,” Uruses snapped, irritation evident in his tone.

Nira finally blurted, “He has a thing for Elira.”

Zyrian froze.

“They were rumoured to be a couple back then, before we came here to the academy,” Nira added softly.

Zyrian stopped walking entirely. Students in the hallway detoured around him like he was a boulder.

“ ... Is that true?” he asked quietly.

The girls nodded and kept moving. Zyrian stared at their backs for a moment before forcing himself to follow, jaw tightening. He caught up to them in silence.

“Tell me more,” he said, voice tight.

Ryra shrugged. “Ask Elira. It’s her story.”

The boys exchanged a look, silent agreement: The instructor was screwed.

Zyrian entered their wing silently and then forcefully slammed his room door.

They flinched.

“Now ... I feel sorry for Instructor Ink now,” Cael muttered.

“It’s Inis,” Nira corrected.

“Whatever. If Zyrian found a loophole, that instructor is doomed.” Cael smirked.

“Why?” Nira asked.

Remember a few months ago? Two senior boys harassed you, girls. The next day, they ‘accidentally’ triggered an elemental backlash, injuring and leaving the academy.” Leon was reminded with amusement, “Guess who did that?”

The girls gasped.

“And that was for you,” Cael added. “Imagine what he’ll do for her.”

The girls gasped.

“He wouldn’t...” Nira whispered.

“Not yet,” Uruses said calmly. “Anyway. Clean up, then café. We talk to Elira. Then Guardians after dinner.”

Everyone nodded.

A few minutes later, they sat together at the cafe, each holding an energy drink and some snacks and fruits.

“Same time as yesterday. Be ready tonight,” Zyrian said, chewing on a snack.

“Again tonight?” a voice asked behind them.

Cael groaned and buried his face. “Stars ... why always...”

Elira stood there, arms crossed, expression unimpressed. Her gaze pinned Cael first, then slid to Zyrian. He understood instantly and moved over to sit beside Ryra. Ryra smirked.

Elira took his vacated seat next to Zyrian, close enough that her shoulder nearly touched his.

She looked at Zyrian, catching the grin he forced, a grin that didn’t reach his eyes. She noticed.

“So,” she said sweetly, “what exactly is ‘tonight’?”

She glanced around and, noticing only a handful of new trainees nearby, leaned in even closer.

“Tell me everything.”

Lyna exhaled and started explaining, everything from the mission, the strange carving at the river, the fall, the beasts, almost dying, Zyrian actually dying, and waking up again.

When she finished, silence settled. Elira stared at Zyrian, her expression unreadable.

“So,” she summarised slowly, “you encountered three supernatural beasts that can control the elements. They beat you bloody, healed you, then vanished. You followed a sign, again, fell into a river, and now you’re planning to go back tonight.”

They nodded.

“I’m coming,” she declared immediately.

“No,” they all murmured.

Her eyes narrowed. “Why not?”

“We don’t know how they’ll react to someone new,” Zyrian explained. “Let us go first. Once it’s safe, you can come.”

Elira held his gaze for a long time before nodding.

“Fine. Make sure you actually do.” Then she stood up.

Eyes fixed on Zyrian, Elira said, “After dinner.” It wasn’t a request or a question, but a silent command. Then she turned and walked away.

The squad exhaled collectively.

“She’s sharp,” Cael muttered.

“Too sharp,” Lyna said. “And she definitely knows we didn’t tell her everything.”

“We’ll tell her after we get real answers tonight,” Zyrian said. “Take rest now”

They nodded and split up to their room.

After dinner, they were training in their private place at the edge of the forest,

“Okay, let’s start”, Zyrian said

Suddenly, a barrage of stones exploded toward the other six, fast enough to blur. Even with their speed and reflexes, every one of them still felt the hits.

Ryra hissed first, as a stone struck her chest. Nira flinched when one clipped her shoulder. Cael doubled slightly when a heavier one slammed into his stomach. Lyna gritted her teeth as a sharp pebble pierced her thigh. Leon yelped when one tagged his nose. Uruses blinked as a pebble tapped his forehead with a dull thud.

Everyone paused.

Cael burst out laughing, “Alright, Ryra. Your turn.”

Ryra rolled her eyes, walked to the centre of the training circle, and squared her stance.
The other six spread around her.

“Ready,” Zyrian said.

The moment he spoke, a fist shot toward her face. Ryra ducked, blocking a palm strike to her ribs, twisted, and leapt over a sweeping leg. A fist skimmed her shoulder, a slap flicked across her cheek, and an unexpected, gentle kick to her abdomen knocked her off balance.
She toppled backwards, landing on the ground with a frustrated exhale.

“Shit,” she muttered, pushing herself up.

A soft sound behind them made everyone turn.

Elira approached, arms crossed, eyes sweeping over them.

“So ... what game are you all playing now?” she asked, lips quirking slightly.

Nira stepped forward. “It’s a tapping game. Whoever gets tapped first becomes the target for the other six again.”

Elira raised an eyebrow. “I see. The loser gets beaten again. Nice rule.” Her gaze drifted, very deliberately, to Zyrian.

He smirked back.

“Same place in an hour,” Lyna announced, and everyone dispersed, leaving Elira and Zyrian standing alone in the circle.

As soon as they were out of sight, Cael frowned.

“Do you really think it’s safe to tell her everything?” he muttered.

“Cael!” Ryra hissed sharply.

“It’s for Zyrian,” Lyna said quietly, stopping them all. “She’s the only one he can actually open up to.”

Cael blinked. “Meaning?”

Ryra sighed, voice softer than usual. “What happened yesterday? We almost died. All of us. We had each other to lean on afterwards. But Zyrian...?”

She shook her head. “He acts strong, but he’s alone in his head. Elira became the only person he let in.”

Lyna nodded. “And he trusts her more than he trusts himself. That means she’s already one of us.”

Cael looked down. “Oh.”

They exchanged glances, quiet, understanding, heavy.

This time, instead of splitting apart to their separate rooms, they walked back in pairs, shoulders brushing, silent but closer than before.

Zyrian held Elira’s hand, eyes searching her face.

“Like to train with me?” he asked again quietly, looking down at her.

“Another time,” Elira replied, stepping closer. “Tell me what happened.”

“What happened?” Zyrian echoed, though they both knew she wasn’t asking lightly.

“I know something’s bothering you.” She slid his hand around her waist and leaned into him. “You don’t hide from me as well as you think.”

Zyrian didn’t answer, only studied her face, every line, every flicker of emotion.
