The End and a New Beginning

Introduction
The idea for a story popped into my head a while back. I have no idea where the idea came from, but I kept returning to the idea and fleshing out a plot. I finally accepted that it was a story that wanted to be written. Therefore, I decided to start a new story, even though I am still working on Part 4 of Opening Earth.
The End and a New Beginning is a story about an individual’s social status changing in their society and the problems that such changes can create for the individual. The focus of the story is the life of the story’s main character, Victor (Vic) Bauer.
The story is a work of fiction that is set in a fictionalized version of our Middle Ages. In the Middle Ages, life and society were very different from what they are today. I never studied that period of our history to any depth, although I do have a basic understanding of what life may have been like during that period for the different levels of royalty and peasants. Therefore, the rules of my fictional society undoubtedly conflict with the rules of the society that actually existed in the Middle Ages.
